Airtable Review
What do you like best about the product?
I think Airtable is a good program for any marketer. Sharing projects, tasks, assign projects to team members and more is a great way to stay in touch with each other if you work from different locations, or remotely. Airtable has added some nice features over the last years and became more essential during COVID19. I think the simple interface, easiness to use, and fast set-up for a team have also helped to increase its overall usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it is a great program, but sometimes when we posted something the content got almost buried underneath new content. As a result, it happened a few times that my team members did not see them. Also, by making changes it did not put the changed post or entry on top, so sometimes my co-workers did not even notice the changes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Airtable to share marketing projects with my team members. We created graphics, videos, and content and share it with all members, so everyone could give some input and make changes if needed.
Spreadsheets with Relational Database Tools
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has a ton of widgets and integrations that enhance its existing functionality. There is also an extensive documentation and tutorial base for new users to quickly learn how to get the most out of the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing I have yet to solve with Airtable is creating a two-way information transfer. One base can sync fields from another so that as the primary base is updated, the secondary base can view the changes. What does not seem possible is to have the changes made in the secondary base write back to the primary base.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've used it to develop master schedules for our programs. Its collaborative nature and extensive functionality allows our team to work together to create the schedule and have it easily accessible for staff.
Love this system
What do you like best about the product?
Helps me organize lots of data across many projects in one place. Also, the forms are fantastic - we use it for many internal processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pivot tables are really hard, if not impossible. Also still can't quite match Excel, so hasn't replaced our dependency on that program, but it has done much of the work. some things are still a bit hard to figure out how to do, like copying many cells at once from one table to another took a little googling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One place to look for most project work. Still working on getting it ALL in there. The forms workflow is great too. I use it quite often.
Good tool but can get overcomplicated
What do you like best about the product?
I like the calendar/grid view when planning social posts and content because it's simple to see what needs to be posted and when. It also allows for a lot of transparency throughout various teams, which helps when working on a cross-department project.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot of training to feel competent using Airtable. This has caused many issues for my team because everyone has a varying level of understanding of the platform, which causes a lot of errors when managing the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a better way of organizing our content now in a much more transparent way. It really helps our CEO understand what we're working on and has limited their need for non-stop meetings.
More Aesthetic, Less Functional Excel
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is aesthetically pleasing and contains most of the functionality one would desire for a business knowlege base.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable lacks automation capabilities; repetitive processes can be frustrating. Especially when formatting of documents is a concern, often I find myself changing a field, existing out of the editor to view the visual impact then reopening the editor, and so on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is the knowledge base of our venture capital organization. Information sharing is much more streamlined with Air.
The smaller the project the better
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's better than excel in terms of UI, and there are many customizations/features that allow you to make whatever airtable you're in easy to understand and point to.
What do you dislike about the product?
For projects that are super detailed and intricate, the information tends to drown, similar to excel. The UI is better, but it's still a lot to comb through. For example, I used Airtable while designing a vaccination platform. Since the project changed almost every day, and so did the content within the airtable, it became virtually impossible to manage or find the correct info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving copy flow problems. Airtable allows me to organize copy to screens and sections easily, as long as the flows aren't super lengthy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep your projects smaller and definitely utilize organization features!
A more aesthetic Google Forms
What do you like best about the product?
AirTable makes it very easy to put together a survey/request form that looks polished and professional with minimal effort. There's a decent variety of fields to choose from, and the conditional formatting allows you to create longer-form surveys while keeping things tidy.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if AirTable allowed you to set upload requirements on things like photos. For example, if it allowed you to designate required dimensions, file type, etc., and reject any file types/images that don't meet requirements. Additionally, it would be nice to have a single contact form that included email, name, phone number, etc., instead of requesting separate information via individual fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AirTable allows me to request assets and responses at scale using a tool that looks professional and is easy to use. One of the biggest drawbacks of Google Forms, in my opinion, is the lack of customization. Eventhough you're able to add a theme and adjust the colors, it's still very obvious that it's a Google Form which detracts from the professionalism of it. Airtable looks more professional so I feel better about using the tool when reaching out to external parties.
It's also really nice being to review responses, including requested uploaded material, directly in the Airtable platform in the same workplace that you built the survey/request form, opposed to having a different link/tab like you would in Google Forms. I can't recall how many times I've missplaced the the survey or responses with Google Forms. It's also much easier to view, parse through, and export responses in Airtable.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Airtable to users that have experience with Google Forms but want to take it a notch up with something that's more pleasing to the eye.
So much more functional than a typical spreadsheet!
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. As an organization, we moved a lot of our google sheets and Excel documents to Airtable. We have found that we can quickly find information at a much faster rate than before.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how small pictures are when you initially add them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving a massive data organization problem through Airtable. We keep a master log with a lot of data inputted into it that is constantly being updated. The benefits of Airtable have allowed us to sort through the data rapidly, allowing us to make connections previously not seen.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can import sheets/excel docs straight over and then begin organizing it. Save yourself the time of manual entry by doing this!
