A tool for herding creatives (in the best way)
What do you like best about the product?
Once I was able to understand how Airtable is able to take simple data, and then filter it into views of information that can tell you insightful stuff: like, how many projects a designer has at any given time, how much time is being wasted on edits, how many projects actually help us hit our goal - it became a game changer. Customizing the data to show you what you need to know is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still trying to get the hang of building and using Interfaces. It's a little hard when I don't have tons of time to just sit and experiment until I get something right. More templates for various job roles (like a multimedia creative director - hint, hint) would be awesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us document subject matter expertise, process, current workload, resource allocation and project timelines, as well as tracking expenses that pertain to outsourcing services.
All-round excellent tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is friendly to use for those who are not experts in spreadsheets. The interfaces allow users to see the information digested and ready for consumption. Implementing automations is also pretty easy. Airtable provides resources and continuous learning. The AI has helped me a lot with creating formulas; that is the most challenging thing I've faced so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating formulas in fields is not super easy yet, but it is a bit better thanks to the AI feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It help us organize all the information concerning our programs and the clients to we serve, so it helps us process big amounts of very diverse information.
Flexible yet powerful tool
What do you like best about the product?
As a relational database this has the power to help you link data points, execute formulaic functions, and extrapolate detailed reports to help you make business decisions. Through the use of forms, tables, and views, it is like having the power to create your own little app but without the need to be a full stack developer.
I've tried and used many tools through the years and this is one of my favorites.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could do more color coding and custom/ conditional formatting for easier visibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking transactions in my business while allowing me to make correlations and groupings.
Excellent product, disappointing support
What do you like best about the product?
It's incredibly flexible, and allows us to work with discovery for criminal cases and large data sets for special projects in an intuitive way I'd never have thought possible. The extent to which attorneys and investigators who've previously been completely allergic to the databases needed for discovery review and management have not only taken to Airtable, but have enthusiastically adopted it and made it their own, has been inspiring.
What do you dislike about the product?
We're part of the judiciary, providing criminal defense for indigent defendants. Airtable started us off with a good contract on nonprofit terms, which made it feasible to use widely, and we had been in the process of preparing for a roll-out to our entire district. Without warning, Airtable has decided that government entities do not qualify for nonprofit rates, doubling our cost. We'll continue to use it, but in a much more limited form. No one's been available yet to discuss or negotiate this drastic change.
Airtable as an organization also struggles mightily to understand what we're doing with the project. Any calls we've had to discuss our use cases and what we'd like from the product (flexible date fields, in-document text searches and highlighting) haven't really gone anywhere, and their attempts to learn more about our organization have been focused more on learning who to pitch for a national contract rather than learning what we need and how we work with it.

It's a relational database that replaces LexisNexis Casemap, that's also a very flexible case-management system. We also use it to manage and direct bigger-picture special projects. The hosted nature and security allows us to bring experts from outside the office into selected sets of data easily, and gives the experts the tools and views they need to review and respond much more quickly than just dumping a pile of documents on them.
Very flexible software for many different use cases
What do you like best about the product?
While it takes a little time figuring out how the different functions and databases interact with each other, it's very simple to put together a use case for your specific company. We couldn't find another software that could do what we needed, and Airtable works great.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be somewhat laborious to create multiple fields in order to create a similar function as a regular excel sheet. Especially when you have to duplicate across an entire row. There is a learning curve to thinking about data differently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have created a seamless estimating system that integrates with our favorite no-code softwares like Make.com. It's reliable and keeps our projects organized and in the correct flow.
Airtable is core to our business operations
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has amazing functionality that allows our team to visualize and use data/information in an efficient way.
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating a CSV export, there are often extra quotation marks for certain text fields, and cells are frequently merged when they should not be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps us (1) manage our catalog of services accessible to the entire team, (2) manage a CRM that fits our needs without having to use a traditional CRM platform, and (3) track projects across multiple functions/tasks.
Great project management software
What do you like best about the product?
Airtable has helped us streamline requests and information in an easily digestable way. It's been helpful for event planning and budgeting, project tracking, forms, assigning tasks and reviewing work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Airtable has almost too many features to implement. I know we are take full advantage of the software, but the learning curve to apply these features to our business model would take time and effort to establish. Not quite a plug and play software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We receive incoming requests from clients regularly. Airtable helps us to streamline the requests to the right person and effectively track their status. Airtable also helps us with content development, management, and approval process.
Product is great but accessibility is a limitation
What do you like best about the product?
You can store and use data in ways that make sense for your organization; automations and interfaces allow us to be more efficient and productive than we could be using other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Accessibility remains a challenge and a limitation - our university campus will not consider Airtable as an enterprise software solution because of a lack of accessibility and no indication to make accessibility a priority. This limits both how we can use the tool at scale as well as how we can use it in broad, public ways like web site embeds, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all our data in one place, being able to trigger real-world actions via Airtable data manipulation (i.e. send an automated email to an event attendee), being able to see internal reports and dashboards that update automatically as we manage our work.
Perfect all-in-one tool once you know how to use it
What do you like best about the product?
It's an incredibly powerful tool that's easy to jump into with new features and updates often. Have leveraged Airtable across departments for a wide variety of purposes and will continue to.
What do you dislike about the product?
I always know I'm not getting enough out of the tool or as much as I could be because a lack of support. There are community forums, chat bots, and expensive/infeasible 3rd party expert services, but for the Business plans and up it should be much easier to speak with support and get helpful answers that reflect the ongoing changes in the platform. An AI chat within the platform that can review your bases' data and structure and provide real guidance is necessary. Also there should be less restriction on how the Extension Script works and what it can do, like add/delete/edit fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It acts as a database for an ecomm site, project management tool for marketing, client overview presentation interface, time-tracking tool, workbench, etc.
backbone of our operations
What do you like best about the product?
public interfaces (embedded sharing), automations (including sending emails), forms, linked records, rollups, formula writing assist with ai!
What do you dislike about the product?
i wish the forms functionality was more advanced, like better conditional visibility of questions, record picker in forms, ranked preference questions, etc.
Or, I could really really use new integrations with FERPA-compliant, especially qualtrics, polleverywhere
Lastly, some calendar integrations via automations are not really working for our team, and it's difficult to do event outreach operations...
