What do you like best about the product?
User-Friendly Interface, as the drag-and-drop functionality enhances usability.
Customization, With various field types (attachments, checkboxes, dropdowns, etc.), users can tailor their databases to fit specific needs. Collaboration features, real-time collaboration allows multiple users to work simultaneously, and comments can be added to records for clear communication. Lastly, templates offered!
What do you dislike about the product?
While Airtable offers a free tier, many advanced features are locked behind paid plans, which can be a barrier for small teams or individual users. Also, for users looking to build more complex databases, the learning curve can increase significantly. Some may find the advanced features less intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is solving the problems of disorganization, espically in the marketing space. While it has some limitations, particularly regarding pricing and handling large datasets, its ease of use and customizable features make it a strong choice for a variety of projects.

A Powerful, User-Friendly Tool for Non-Coders

What do you like best about the product?
I really like Airtable because it makes organizing and structuring data incredibly easy, even if you don’t have any coding experience. Its intuitive interface allows me to create databases quickly, and its flexibility pairs perfectly with other tools like Softr, which I use regularly. Airtable’s powerful features make it a fantastic option for managing projects, workflows, and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I find challenging is that while Airtable is highly versatile, some of the more advanced features can feel limited without upgrading to the premium plans. Additionally, for really complex workflows, there may be a need for more integration options or automations beyond the basics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps me solve the problem of organizing and managing data without needing technical skills or coding knowledge. It allows me to easily structure and track information in a way that’s both visually appealing and highly functional. As a Softr user, Airtable also works seamlessly with my workflow, enabling me to quickly build and manage databases for my projects, saving time and reducing the complexity of manual data handling. The automation features further streamline my tasks, making it easier to stay organized and efficient.

User-Friendly, But Limited for Advanced Needs

What do you like best about the product?
I like its versatility and ease of use. It is visually intuitive and has great database facilities. Because of real time updates and collaboration, it is ideal for companies with large teams. There are multiple views which you can easily switch from. It also has great automation support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel it is somewhat limited for advanced use cases. If there is a large data-set it can become difficult managing it. Advanced reporting, in-depth querying, and database triggers etc are difficult to implement without good coding knowledge or help from third party. Also the price is on the higher side.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With te collaboration cababilties it is helping me in assigning tasks, commenting, and sharing updates etc. It is helping in reducing repetitive tasks like sending reminders or creating reports automatically.

Flexible and Intuitive

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What is most helpful is the ease of use and the number of features. Implementation has been easy and gradual. Airtable has become a part of our daily operations. The flexibility has allowed us to gradually integrate it into our existing procedures. I haven't needed much communication with customer support except to explore additional features to use in our industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have no complaints - it's a blank canvas on which you can build some amazing things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable is really helpful in managing our rental inventory and providing real-time updates for our task management.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The possibility of having multiple input views of our tables.
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity of certain links between tables (e.g., rollup) and the inability to perform simple operations as in a standard spreadsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This allows me to have my entire client database and project tracking in one single place, with automatic links between the tables.

Airtable is a versatile and easy-to-handle tool once the interfaces have been created. It's beneficial for daily interaction while working on big teams, even when they are not based in the same location or country.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interfaces are not so easy to build and the software can feel a bit overwhelming for new members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our content calendar and team tasks are much easier to follow up

Agile, modular and easy to use

  • July 09, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was able to start using Airtable meaningfully almost immediately due to its ease-of-use and ability to create but then continue to build on top. For certain areas where my level of experience is more limited, I was able to use their AI options to bridge the gap on things that may have otherwise taken me a while to hash out (and realistically, probably just would have never gotten around to). This kept me building vs. hitting roadblocks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, I am a big fan. Every once in a while I hit a snag where I can't figure out how to implement something using the native tools, however this is likely emphasized due to the ease of use of everything else. In other words, when something isn't there is sticks out more due to how much already exists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Duplicative data everywhere (I was able to kill over 300 spreadsheets my new company was using within a matter of the first month) as well as modular automations that remove repetitive actions.

Our favorite tool! I recommend Airtable to all Harvard University staff members.

What do you like best about the product?
There are SO many ways to visualize data -- from all the views to the interface feature, I am able to easily manipulate my Airtable data for many uses in higher education administration. My team and I use Airtable everyday, multiple times a day for knowledge sharing on our fellows to tracking speakers or events. We used to use Salesforce, but found Airtable to be a more affordable, more user-friendly, and less complicated software for our small team. It is easy to learn and easy to get customer support via email or video call (because we have the Enterprise plan). It works like an Excel spreadsheet, and has easy upload or copy/paste features, which allowed for a near seamless implementation process. We do not use any integrations currently, but I know there are many options for us to use in the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are on the front end of Airtable innovation, so there have been many features we wish Airtable had but does not have it *just yet*. We have raised these concerns to the Airtable Enterprise Support team and hope to see it rolled out in the near future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a user-friendly knoweldge sharing platform for all of our staff members -- something that is diverse enough to serve our various needs, but not so complex that even our least tech-savvy coworkers can use. Airtable has solved this problem as we moved away from Salesforce to use it exclusively. We do not have an IT support member on our team, so it's great that we can design Airtable for our own use without being dependent on a consultant or tech specialist.

Makes it easy for users to design workflows

  • June 26, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Airtable is not a product that is the focus of our business, but when we come across opportunities that make sense, we work with the tools we can use for such a project. My company has done a couple of projects using Airtable involving app-building. We do a lot of document imaging workflows. Often, there is a need to merge something with another application that is being managed in a business. For example, one of our customers is a school district using PowerSchool or one of the other tools for managing their grading plans and student registrations. We had our company's application, and its document was archived separately. Our customers wanted to integrate our company's application with Airtable to make things seamless. Aitrable is pretty easy to work with, very intuitive, and reliable. We were able to do the workflow with the tool relatively easily.

What needs improvement?

What you see is what you get. The thing that my company found to be the most frustrating is when you follow the project's game plan, and when we hit the button, it doesn't work as we expected it to function.

Some of the issues associated with the tool were related to some misunderstanding regarding the instructions mentioned in the documentation part of the product. The issues related to the product could be resolved with just a phone call.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have experience with Airtable.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

My issue with the stability of a product is when a tool goes from one revision level to another, and all of a sudden, something doesn't work right, or when the customer moves from a server released in 2016 to 2019, and you find that it doesn't work anymore. I have not seen any aforementioned stability issues in Airtable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In my company, we did not come across any issues involving scalability. My company had used the tool for small projects and they were very finite and we didn't have to scale it to be used by thousands of users. By the looks of it, it doesn't seem to have a scalability issue.

One of the places where the tool was used was a fairly large school district in Illinois with around 400 users. Though not all of them were using the app, probably 100 people were using it for sure. A small or medium-sized medical group was also using the tool. As there were some HIPAA issues, they only had maybe 20 or 30 users using the app. With the way the tool is designed, there doesn't seem to be any issues with the scalability part.

How are customer service and support?

The solution's technical support was unbelievably quick to respond and supportive. My company had no problem getting anything we needed from the support team. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before combining databases, my company had used some other tools for bank-specific use cases. My company uses Coda since it is a tool that specializes in banking. There were certain issues to run into when it comes to banks that are different from what you may run into with the school districts. We chose Coda for the financial organization where we are doing the app, and it really was the same kind of workflow thing where you integrate our document imaging platform with their banking software. Coda had all the APIs and the interfaces with the banking software because that is what it was meant for, and we could handle the other side involving the document imaging platform.

Speaking about the differences between Coda and Airtable, I would say that the former was used in a project two years ago. Airtable was more of a recent tool for us. Airtables seems to have better and more pervasive AI compared to Coda. I imagine that if we had looked at Airtable two years prior, it would have been different.

What about the implementation team?

The product's initial setup phase was managed with the help of a consultant recommended to us by Airtable, but we didn't need much of his help, and it was quick and easy to manage.

What other advice do I have?

My company is very familiar with workflows. When it comes to designing workflows and how workflows work, I would say that we are not an application program company. We are able to do an awful lot with platforms like Coda, Airtable, and ServiceNow. ServicePRO is a company that cleans up messes.

Airtable's automation features enhance data management with AI. In our company, we don't use AI much in inside applications. The tool has helped us design better workflows. With the tool's graphical interface, we would pretty much map out what we wanted to do. The tool's AI would suggest to you what is better and what needs to be moved where. It does help a little with the searching part, especially when somebody from the application attempts to pull up a document with the help of the student ID number. If they don't get a hit on that, the AI would ask for the student's date of birth, and then the AI would be able to locate it via the date of birth and name instead of the ID number, which may or may not be accurate. It is nice to have AI, and it makes it easier to train the customer on how to use it because you have to provide less training. I don't have to train them to say that the ID number is not the best search field.

I would recommend Airtable to others for managing workflows.

The tool's salespeople were really easy to deal with, and the support people were also excellent. The product works. It is easy to design workflows with, and we don't have to spend tons of money on somebody to write codes.

I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

I love the versatility and how use-friendly Airtable is. Saves time and money by allowing us to automate otherwise time-consuming tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it could do just a little more without external integrations. Specifically as it relates to a calender and booking of spaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Airtable helps us collect data from outside data and then complete tasks based on that data. It allows us to route information to the right individuals and ensure a seamless flow of work.
