Easy to learn, incorporate into process
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciated how easy and quick we could get up and running with Katalon. We were building simple test within a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have had a few stumbling blocks that don't have an intuitive solution, but have managed to overcome with online research/forums/documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Katalon Studio is increasing the quality of our solution, improving our quality testing to deliver a more robust product to our clients.

It is easy and script less tool. All actions can be selected from drop down

Not all actions are available in script less. It requires coding skill and that has to be aligned with Katalon framework.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily automate web and API without knowing any programing language
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool to start with selenium automation without knowing selenium. It also supports API testing. Can easily integrate with different test management and DevOps tools
Excellent tool for people who have minimal programming or coding background.

Easy installation experience compared to another similar software.
Has some cool features like the ability to skip particular steps or skip specific test cases in a test suite, has built-in features that make running test in parallel easy.
Comes with its own add-ons for Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. Installation is as easy as going to corresponding web browser add-on stores and click install.

Support for only One Scripting Language: Java/Groovy, more Languages should be supported.
It is not open source, as this would bring more developers to the community.

I tested the design and execution of automation test on projects.
Test result reports are graphically intuitive and can be exported to pdf and CSV formats.

A single tool to build tests for UI and web services (SOAP and REST), well organized, easy to learn.
I would suggest every user with no coding experience give it a try.

Pretty good free automation tool for people with no coding skills
What do you like best about the product?
Easy developing scripts with good training videos. nice and clean GUI.
Many templates to choose from that help you build and run your automation test scripts.
I think experienced testers can also enjoy using the tool since recording and keywords for fresh ones to build automation tests, whereas expert ones can have a full IDE to build advanced scripts.

Cannot automate desktop applications, unlike some other licensed tools.

Should give it a try, work still in development.
I think whether Katalon Studio can replace a powerful and beloved product as Selenium is not easy to conclude.

Best Automation Solution for Software Testing Team
What do you like best about the product?
Katalon Studio’s users could be the testers with limited technical knowledge. Katalon Studio hides all technical complexities behind the scene and provides friendly UI with the manual mode (user can drag-drop, select keywords and test objects to form test steps), but still keeps necessary weapons for more technically powerful users who are able to dig deeper into coding with the scripting mode that fully supports development conveniences like syntax highlighting, code suggestion and debugging
What do you dislike about the product?
At this moment I don't have any negatives on the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are a lot of automation tools that do not require the user to be an expert to make use of them. So, next time, when you have a new test project with many test cases that fall into the mentioned situations above, take some time to consider an automation plan to make your release cycle faster and boost the overall productivity of the team.

Katalon Studio is a better solution than Selenium based open source frameworks. Built on the top of Selenium and Appium, Katalon Studio is a free and powerful automated testing tool for web testing, mobile testing, and API testing.

API testing ease is below average.
Only good for starter quality assurance engineers or testers.
Flexibility to use is less compared to Selenium or Appium.
Mobile automation is not perfectly supported as Appium.

Every one in the testing team, even a manual tester can start with this tool as a first step to automation there by increasing the productivity of the team and less time wastage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes. It is a very good tool for starter testers, since it can raise your confidence level in automation and as we positivity of learning an automation tool. More over it will add to your resume.
Great for front end testing
What do you like best about the product?
I like how the captured objects are reusable and stored within the projects. It's nice and helps when reusing test cases later on.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it were easier to modularize and organize test cases and it were more clear on whether additional steps were needed to make a test case reusable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Katalon Studio takes care of our front end testing. We use it in tandem with Jenkins.
A tool that has come a long way in development to becoming a solid automation application
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, users can get up to spend in a relatively short period of time. Also, being that the app is free, that's a huge bonus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its still in development, so once in awhile your have a change that doesn't work as intended. However, the developers are very pro active in addressing issues, in some cases have even removed a feature that was added that became problematic for users.

Speed up the regression testing of our web app.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They offer tons of documentation, refer to it before assuming something does not work as intended. Some more advanced features are still a work in progress, and keep up with the latest updates, they add updated fairly regularly.

You do't have option to continue recording test steps, however I heard that in new version this should be fixed

Test automation - acceptance or E2E testing was really important to include in our team worflow.
Writing test in standard Selenium code based tools could be problematic for testers without programming experiences. Also this kind of codeless solutions give you option to create your test suites much more faster. You can also create automated scripts which can help you to focus on more creative tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
It is really easy to use. My experience with it was very good. The design of test cases and the Katalon automation recorder make the QA process faster in many projects, from web till mobile.
What do you dislike about the product?
Katalon is new, so there aren´t enough support or forums, but is not big deal.
