Hands-on cloud labs have transformed my training and save hours on every learning project

    Reviewed on Jun 09, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use cases for CloudLabs are training, experimenting, software development, and learning. I use it for training, experiments, software development, practice, and learning. CloudLabs is integrated with GCP, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, allowing me to do real-time examples without any local installation.

A specific example of a training I ran using CloudLabs was during my participation in the Google ADK, which is the Agent Development Kit program. I took the entire training on CloudLabs, where I needed to create AI agents in a multi-agent system, and all the agents were connected using the A2A protocol. I exposed the MCP server, but I did not need to do any local installation. The entire training was based on CloudLabs, which provides a virtual cloud-based environment for training.

My use case with CloudLabs includes a unique aspect where I log into a web portal to start my training, which opens a VS Code IDE with a terminal. I can execute my commands and code and conduct hands-on training without installing anything on my system. Even if I have a system with low RAM or an old configuration, it still works seamlessly as it operates in the cloud, making it very easy to learn.

    What is most valuable?

The best features CloudLabs offers, in my opinion, include being cloud-based and accessible from anywhere, which eliminates the need for local installation. It is cost-effective, and unlike other training platforms that focus solely on teaching, CloudLabs provides hands-on learning in a realistic environment that is easy for anyone to understand. Additionally, it has progress tracking for monitoring my completion and assignments that are designed as small tests after modules, which are optional.

The hands-on learning feature in CloudLabs is exceptional compared to other platforms where learning is primarily theoretical, with trainers explaining concepts. CloudLabs provides labs integrated with GCP, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, allowing users to create their own work in a cloud environment without needing local installation. For example, I created multiple agents that interacted with each other all within the cloud environment.

CloudLabs has positively impacted my organization by allowing everyone to get hands-on training. Without CloudLabs, we could only do training without practical experience. Now, I gain hands-on experience without significant installations on my systems, enhancing the knowledge of my teammates and everyone in my organization. It has also reduced hardware costs, which is a beneficial aspect.

    What needs improvement?

CloudLabs is perfect for me, and I have no suggestions for improvement. It is very easy to learn compared to other platforms in the market. However, there could be advantages to adding AI-powered assistance or a chatbot within the application to help with questions not covered in the training modules. That would be a great addition.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using CloudLabs for around two years and two months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

CloudLabs is stable in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

In terms of scalability, CloudLabs is highly scalable. I have seen around 150 users using it concurrently in my organization.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with customer support was positive. I had an issue where my VM machine got stuck during training, and after reaching out to support, they resolved the issue quickly.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before switching to CloudLabs, I used LinkedIn Learning and Udemy, but they lacked integrated labs for hands-on coding, which made the learning process less effective.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment in terms of time saved. As a senior developer, if I handled setup independently, it would take a lot of time, but with CloudLabs, I can save approximately eight to nine hours per training session.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing of CloudLabs has been positive. The facilities provided are worth the cost. CloudLabs does not charge more than is reasonable given the value, and if more users join, the cost per user decreases.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options beyond Udemy, as I found it lacked essential lab features.

What other advice do I have?

CloudLabs has saved considerable time. As a senior software engineer, if I had to install everything locally, it would take considerable time. Instead, the environment is already set up, so I can write and execute code quickly. I estimate that it saves around eight to nine hours for each training, and for multiple trainings, that time saved can multiply.

My advice for others looking into using CloudLabs is to follow the provided steps carefully. CloudLabs breaks down the process into small, manageable steps, and skipping steps in a hurry can lead to getting stuck. It is important to follow each step since they are all essential.

CloudLabs is the best in the market for labs and hands-on experience. I would rate this review as five out of five.

Hands-on virtual labs have built my big data skills and are boosting my confidence in real tasks

    Reviewed on Mar 28, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

During my last seven semesters, I have had subjects like Hadoop, database, and big data analytics. In those subjects, we have to use the Hadoop and CloudLabs system. During that semester, I have used CloudLabs. I used CloudLabs during my learning and internship period to practice real-world technical skills in a real-world environment. As a student, I find it very useful because it provides hands-on experience instead of just theory. What I appreciate the most about CloudLabs is that it allows me to work on real-based scenarios in a controlled environment. It helped me to understand how the features work, how the tasks are completed, instead of just reading about them. I can actually see how it operates. This improved my confidence and technical skills, especially when working with technical assignments during my internship. CloudLabs is helpful for self-paced learning. I could practice anytime and the lab-based approach made it easier to remember the concepts compared to traditional learning.

In my college's seventh semester, I have the subject of big data analytics. In that course, there are some Excel files, projects, and practical work. We need to explore and learn using CloudLabs. During my college project, I used CloudLabs to perform tasks step-by-step, which helped me to understand real-world situations and how real-world projects function, especially in relation to backend big data. I learned about how companies manage and process big data, how we store large amounts of data, and the entire process involved. It improved my confidence and problem-solving skills, especially when I had to complete tasks on my own.

    What is most valuable?

The best features of CloudLabs include providing excellent hands-on experience. The free tier allows us to learn a lot. It is also useful for understanding real-world scenarios and beneficial for the self-learning process.

CloudLabs provides a good experience and is a solid platform. It saves my time, builds my skills, and enhances my technical knowledge. It improved my confidence and self-learning skills as a beginner. If you want to engage with real-world case scenarios, CloudLabs is clear and easy to understand.

    What needs improvement?

However, there are areas where CloudLabs can be improved. In some labs, the instructions are not very clear, which can be confusing at times. It is also possible to get stuck due to the limited guidance available. Sometimes it takes extra time to figure out solutions. CloudLabs provides the best real-world practical examinations.

I did not give it a ten because sometimes it does not provide fully clear instructions. Occasionally, I need to reach out to another AI tool to fully understand how certain features work. Better support would also enhance the experience, especially for beginners.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

CloudLabs is stable. At any given time, during our classes, there are around seventy to eighty students using it simultaneously without any errors or data issues. Everyone receives their own resources and data, confirming that CloudLabs is fully stable.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support with CloudLabs is excellent. Whenever I do not know something, I go to the help section and access customer support, where they provide review articles that are easy to understand.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use any other solutions before CloudLabs. I never considered other options because whenever I used CloudLabs, it was in my syllabus. As I mentioned, I used it in my seventh semester in college, and my professor guided me on how to use it effectively to understand how it works, which is useful for both college projects and industry-level projects.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I did not evaluate other options before choosing CloudLabs. In our studies, there was only one option, which was CloudLabs. I did not explore any alternatives because I found using CloudLabs beneficial.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anyone looking into using CloudLabs is that if you want to understand things easily as a beginner, you should learn from technical products that match industry standards. CloudLabs is easy to understand and helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, making it easier to grasp how real-world systems function.

I recommend providing tutorials along with video-based scenarios where real-world projects or applications are used. It would be beneficial to show users how to utilize the features effectively. Additionally, providing some tutorials and theoretical review articles would be helpful. I would rate my overall experience with CloudLabs as an eight out of ten.

Huge time-saver, very detailed lab guides, 24/7 customer support

What do you like best about the product?
I've worked with CloudLabs for almost two years now, and couldn't imagine working without them.
These lab environments save both me and the attendees a TREMENDOUS amount by provisioning, downloading, and organizing resources ahead of our events so we can get right to the important learning steps. The lab guides included are clear and comprehensive with labeled images for every step as well as remediation notes at any potential trouble spots. urther, these are kept as 'living' documents - along with new innovations in Microsoft, they add more information or improve the flow of the lab to showcase this. Microsoft updates their interface regularly and they make sure to keep the script up-to-date as soon as they're informed of a change. The chat support is very polite and quick to respond and are always pleasant. If a user has a particularly complicated issue, they'll make sure to follow up directly with an email to them as soon as the resolution is found. I've had the pleasure of communicating with the upper management and they're wonderfully professional, polite, considerate, and quick to enact on any tasks discussed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really a complaint, just a dream - since our workshops are done remotely, it would be great if there was a way to view the attendees' screens from a web interface (instead of pausing my screenshare to individually share their screens) just so my moderator could quickly take out the easy-to-answer user errors faster, and keep my suppor tickets to the big issues (even if CL'd never complain). :)
Of course, I'm not expecting them to create a complicated new system like that from scratch, but I have no real complaints about them as is!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create safe temporary virtualized environments and azurea accounts so attendees can get the step-by-step experience of what the process actually entails in their own environment.
