My main use case for BMC AMI Cloud Analytics is for understanding our cloud cost. I want to understand the usage of my Lambda compute, how many compute hours Lambda used, and we also used it for EC2 compute time. One of the final uses we had for it was for PostgreSQL operational costs.

BMC AMI Cloud Analytics has a good cost split by the different components. The fastest clicks by the different components show how the split of cost works for every component, including what the compute cost is, what the storage cost is, and what the I/O cost is.
BMC AMI Cloud Analytics has positively impacted our organization by helping us understand the cost better so that we can tune our systems, tune our database, and tune our computing capacities to reduce costs.
What needs improvement?
I would use BMC AMI Cloud Analytics more to get more information.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously, we used AWS native cost analytics, but it requires every component to be listed and gone through individually, while the BMC AMI tool helped to consolidate it all together with less effort.

I have seen a return on investment because it easily provided the cost splits through the tool rather than our infrastructure team trying to figure out all the components, so it saved time and money.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it is pretty easy because it is a simple installation.
What other advice do I have?
BMC AMI Cloud Analytics would receive an eight out of ten rating from me. I chose eight out of ten because I still need to explore some of the additional features. I would recommend exploring all the features of BMC AMI Cloud Analytics, as it would be a very good analytic tool for any organization that wants to know better cost splits of every AWS component.
