Gong for onboarding

What do you like best about the product?
Searching by topic has made onboarding in my role incredibly easy. Shadowing calls can be overwhelming - especially if my schedule has conflicts. Now I can join all the calls I want, with the ability to listen to other calls, calls before I joined my company, and revisit calls and demos for training purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hearing my own voice, sometimes search is faulty.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving for my own learning curve and using Gong to codify our onboarding process for new members of the team. It makes it easy to spread out our knowledgebase by call snippets and highlight great calls that explain important topics.

Quickly Find past calls and review them.

Some calls take a day to be able to listen to them. I wish they were quicker to save

Being able to review calls to confirm certain information, or to avoid future issues.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of admin ability - integrates with CRM & other tools (Zoom) seamlessly
Easy to set up trackers (keywords) for Gong to track so reps can go to that specific part of the call with a click of a button
Reps love the ability to listen and not have to take detailed notes now
Managers love being able to listen in on calls they weren't able to attend and speed of the playback
Reps are a fan of being able to comment & request coaching feedback & the ability to loop in other

Great for sharing snippets to other departments to further deals - Customer success & pre-sales orgs can benefit greatly from this data as they are not usually on all of the sales calls. It's also great for reps to be able to share call recordings with the customer after the call, thus allowing the customer to share it with other people on their team who might not have been able to make the call.
What do you dislike about the product?
CRM data is the source of truth so overwrites hierarchy at times and is a struggle to revert back to the correct hierarchy - can turn this off, but then requires a higher level of manual work to manage users and teams
Didn't have the best roll-out plan & continuous enablement for a larger org of our size.

Limited features/data governance controls around email capture, redaction & call ingestion - in theory, what they have is great, but not fully baked out yet & doesn't meet the needs of a global org

It is very pricey compared to other tools out there and some would argue that the other features may not be worth the high seat cost of Gong.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting insights into our sales calls - trends, competitor analysis, etc
Allowing reps to listen more closely to the customer
Productivity increase for reps & managers
Gong additionally gives us intel into how the market is doing as a whole as we can track keywords and then export that data and use it for analysis

We now use Gong as a content repository and use it to speed up onboarding of new reps as they can search through the calls and go to the corresponding folder to listen in on a wide variety of calls.

Gong also sines the light on skill gaps across teams - which allow us to quickly identify, and then coach & enable on these gaps in the future

I'd recommend getting a detailed roll-out plan for your org

What do you like best about the product?
Gong makes sharing insights and best practices with my team easier than its ever been
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of ability to merge call audio with video, sometimes calls can be difficult to find if the salesforce data isnt precise
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We gained the ability to draw big picture insights and best practices for the entire sales floor by identifying common issues and successes.

What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to listen to calls from other colleagues. I also like that GONG highlights filler words like "um" or "like" so that I am more aware during calls. Being able to find a call by keywords is also helpful when preparing for calls.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't use all the features but the features I do use are very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If there is a call where I don't know a lot about the industry or profession to get a better understanding and questions to ask during the call. It is also great to go back to re-listen to any calls that you had a while ago with a client for a quick refresher on what was discussed.

Gong keeps all my sales cycles perfectly organized in an easily accessible platform. Its helped me realize when to speak and when to listen in turn improving my patience.

Trust the coaching Gong provides. It will allow you to improve in areas of need and sharpen your skills in areas already advanced.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it takes notes of my meetings. It is super helpful to get the recap emails. I also like that recorded calls are easy to view.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had some issues with security restrictions in areas like Canada, that made this service hard to expand globally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logging product feedback is the main solution we're using Gong for. Before Gong, conversations would happen with clients and we would say, "I wish that was logged." Now the process is automatic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I like this service. I sometimes have problems getting the recorder to work, but when it does it is very helpful. This product has been very good at allowing me to look back at calls and share them with other people within my company.
