Reliable Work Management with Intuitive Grids and Time-Saving Automation
Reviewed on Aug 13, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I have been working with Smartsheet for about a year now and it has proven to be a reliable solution for our work management needs. What stands out to me is how the platform handles the complexity of our projects without becoming overly complicated itself. The grid-based interface feels natural and approachable which helped with adoption across our team. The automation features have been a real time-saver for us, allowing us to streamline routine tasks like status updates, approval requests, and notifications.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I am generally satisfied with the platform, there are some areas that could use attention. The user interface feels a bit dated and could benefit from a modern refresh to make navigation more intuitive. Getting started with some of the more advanced features requires a significant investment of time to understand how everything works together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main challenge Smartsheet has addressed for us is the lack of visibility into our work across different teams and departments. Before implementing Smartsheet, we had information scattered across various tools and spreadsheets with no easy way to get a consolidated view. This led to duplicated efforts, missed deadlines, and general confusion about priorities. Smartsheet has given us a single source of truth where we can see all of our initiatives, track progress, and identify potential issues before they become problems.

Feature-Rich Platform That Means Business
Reviewed on Aug 12, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Coming from a background of using various project management tools, Smartsheet stands out for its depth and sophistication. I have been using it for about fifteen months now and I continue to discover new capabilities that make our work easier. The sheet structure provides a familiar foundation while the automation tools, forms, and dashboards add powerful layers of functionality. The ability to create solution-like workflows without development resources has been a significant advantage for us. I particularly like the conditional formatting which helps prioritize work visually.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are definitely areas where I wish Smartsheet would improve. The user experience feels clunky at times, especially when navigating between different views and sheets. It does not have the polish of some consumer-grade applications that team members might be accustomed to. The setup process for more complex workflows requires significant expertise and trial and error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has solved our challenge of managing work at scale across multiple locations and departments. We were previously using disconnected spreadsheets and email threads to coordinate, which created confusion and duplicated efforts. Now we have a central system where everyone can see the status of initiatives, understand their responsibilities, and track progress toward milestones. The platform has been particularly valuable for our program management office which oversees multiple interdependent projects.

Flexible, Reliable Project Management with Strong Automation and Visibility
Reviewed on Aug 12, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet’s biggest strength is its flexible, spreadsheet-style interface combined with strong project and workflow management. It makes it easy to organize work, track progress, automate repetitive tasks, and collaborate across teams. The integrations with Microsoft 365 and other business tools are helpful, while dashboards and reports provide clear visibility. Performance is generally reliable, and the AI features can speed up routine tasks and summarize information. The onboarding process is straightforward, and the available support resources make it easier to get started and resolve questions when needed. Overall, Smartsheet offers good ROI for teams that need more structure and automation than a traditional spreadsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is powerful, but some advanced features can take time to learn, especially when setting up complex workflows, reports, and automations. The interface can feel a little overwhelming for new users, and larger sheets may require careful organization to stay easy to manage. Some integrations and advanced capabilities may also require higher-tier plans, which can affect the overall cost. AI features are useful, but their value can vary depending on the type of work. Support resources are helpful, although getting familiar with all the available options can take some time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps solve the challenge of keeping projects, tasks, deadlines, and team information organized in one place. It reduces the need for scattered spreadsheets and manual status updates by providing shared dashboards, automated workflows, and real-time visibility. This makes collaboration easier, improves accountability, reduces repetitive work, and helps teams make faster decisions. The integrations and reporting features also make it easier to connect information and track overall business performance.

Great for Cross-Functional Collaboration and Clear, Effective Charts
Reviewed on Aug 12, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It’s great for working smartly with a cross-functional team at the same time, and it also helps me create clear, effective charts.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s really nothing to dislike about this. The only issue is that sometimes it seems to require an internet connection to work properly at the same time. Still, I don’t think there’s any real alternative to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a design engineer, I often need to do calculations while working with cross-functional teams, such as the automation team. In those situations, sheets help a lot and make it easier to share and review the numbers together.

Versatile Layouts, but Co-Editing and Filter Navigation Need Improvement
Reviewed on Aug 11, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like the diversity of layouts it can be displayed in.
What do you dislike about the product?
Co-editing isn’t something that works very well right now, and the filters could use better navigation—something closer to an Excel-style UX, for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having many different files and documents in a single workspace, with a direct interface between the agency and the client.

Dynamic Views and Access Control Enhance Collaboration
Reviewed on Aug 11, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet mainly for project and task management, tracking deliverables, deadlines, and progress across a team. I really like the control it gives over access, as I can ask someone to update just a specific field or section without handing over access to the entire sheet, keeping things clean and reducing the risk of accidental changes elsewhere. I'm also a big fan of the Dynamic View feature; it lets me expose only the relevant records or fields to someone without sharing the full source sheet. It saves a lot of back and forth around permissions and data privacy. When I need to share progress with someone like a client or manager who doesn’t need to see the underlying structure or sensitive columns, I can build a view that only shows what’s relevant to them. This 'safe' version of the sheet is already there and stays live.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is probably my biggest concern—the per-user pricing adds up quickly as a team grows, making it harder to justify rolling it out more broadly. I'd like to see more flexible pricing for occasional or view-only users who don't need full functionality. The other limitation is the reliance on an internet connection. Most of the work requires being online, so there's no reliable way to view or update sheets when connectivity is spotty. That becomes a real problem when I'm traveling or working somewhere with an unstable connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet for managing projects and tasks, tracking deliverables, and sharing progress views. It solves information scattering by centralizing data, and enhances control by letting users update specific fields without full access. Dynamic View streamlines reporting and maintains data privacy while cutting down on manual status updates.
