Smartsheet is reliable, and easy!
What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to use, and the fact it allows collaboration. The customer support is really good. I use smartsheet every day for work, and it rarely, if ever, disappoints.
What do you dislike about the product?
I personally think it needs to auto-save more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking and planning my day, ensuring all my tasks are done before the day is finished.
Flexible and Collaborative Project management Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Smartsheet blends the familiar sense of a spreadsheet with the project management tools, very flexible feel. The ability to automate workflows, collaborate with teammates in real-time, and customize views, like the Gantt charts and calendar, has made tracking complex projects much more efficient. This has become implemented into my teams daily use, for project tracking to individual task tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the tool is powerful, it can have a steep learning curve for new users. Some features, like reporting and advanced formulas, aren't always intuitive and can require extra time or training to fully understand. It would also be helpful if the mobile app offered more of the desktop functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps streamline complex cross-functional projects by centralizing timelines, tasks, nd communication into a single, flexible platform. It solves the problems of scattered information and siloed updates by allowing everyone to stay aligned in real time. Automation features also reduce manual follow-ups, which saves time and helps prevent things from falling through the cracks.
I use Smartsheet in Construction to manage coordination with the building Owner

Ability to add attachments and comments and review live updates

This may already be in place, but a notification status update for changing column status would be great, like an automated notification

- lacks basic functionality

- no default-sort setting option
- no hotkey to insert a row below the cell you have selected (the only option to do so takes 3 clicks)
- non-intuitive (hitting "return" does not enter into a cell, instead I have to use F2)

- not live-collaboration-friendly (have to save and refresh all the time to see other people’s edits)

Bad customer service, bad implementation
What do you like best about the product?
Its a great collaboration tool, but their latest change may be the end of them if they don't figure something out
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet recently changed their billing structure without warning and I've been trying for 2 weeks to contact someone without any help. Their sales team says to contact their service department but their service department won't return emails and can't easily be reached.

Great software for project managment in teams with a wide range of software skills - easy adoption
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Smartsheet for my team is its easy adoption and implementation for a broad range of software skill sets and experience with project management tools. Anyone who can use Excel or Google Sheets, can use Smartsheet. Conversely, those with extensive experience or with higher level needs can build up the basic sheets and use templates and additional functionality to meet their needs. It is also very cost effective. My team uses it everyday for our stand ups, I use it for all the projects I manage across my organization, and I have converted several folks from higher lift options for project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it is so easy to use in a basic sheet mode, it is possible to get "stuck" using it and not expand the utilities you are using. But that is really a capacity issue on my part. I could be pushing the envelope more, I just don't have the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Eliminating multiple locations for project tracking, information, and workload. On demand status information and no training required for new users.
Great Collaborate Sharing of Files
What do you like best about the product?
I like that its customizable and that we are able the spreadsheet function to track other aspects of the files being shared and the jobs being tracked.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the multiple download was easier to access. Its primary function for us is the file share and downloading multiple files is difficult.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking tasks and sharing documents and required documents with client.
Smartsheet is invaluable as a Project Manager to easily track deadlines and schedules
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to do adjust timing by using the predecessors. Makes it easy if something shifts by one day, you can see the entire schedule shift
What do you dislike about the product?
The formulas can be hard to remember if you don't know them all. It can be difficult to get a new sheet up and running if you don't have the right template
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the problem of having to create an entire schedule and in a position where schedules shift constantly, it makes it easy to see how the entire schedule shifts when something is delayed by even one day
Project Management simplified
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is user-friendly and provides a variety of different templates that are applicable to the work that I do, especially in project management.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like the templates, but I don't like having to go through and erase the data that is put there for example. It could just be in the preview and then left blank when you go to use the template.
