Empowers Collaboration, Needs Better Salesforce Integration
What do you like best about the product?
I find Smartsheet incredibly effective in enhancing collaboration with customers. We use it to share sheets, allowing customers to make notes, send messages, and track their project plans and milestones. The workspaces feature is particularly useful, facilitating seamless collaboration by enabling customers to add their own issues and communicate directly through Smartsheet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I face challenges with the owner access feature. When employees leave the company and they own the Smartsheet space, it restricts us from adding new users, which is frustrating. I also find the integration capabilities lacking, particularly with Salesforce and Jira. An improvement in integration would be beneficial, as it would allow action items to become tickets within Salesforce or Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find the product enhances collaboration with customers by sharing workspaces, allowing them to make notes, send messages, and track projects and milestones effectively.
As a department manager it works well to organize employee times and project schedules.
What do you like best about the product?
the ease of use and the reports that are easily generated.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be to easy to make a mistake and sometimes takes time to correct it.

Helps keep track of employees times and the projects they are working on as well as project information organizing.
Smartsheets provides an excellent platform for data collection and management
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use with smartsheets is fantastic, it is very easy to setup, manage and review data collection across projects. The automation features are very easy to create and integrate thanks to smartsheet's native ai building tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheets could offer more native integrations and automations. Whilst it is very easy to develop with 3rd party apps for integration with certain software, I feel they could have more of these options integrated into smartsheets itself

Allows for very accessible and easy data submission and collection and has allowed us to reduce the time spent managing emails and documents.
A Good Tool for Project / Program Management perspective.
What do you like best about the product?
We are managing a large-scale program that includes approximately 10 distinct workstreams, with comprehensive planning across areas such as analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, data management, validation, cutover, handover, and service transition. To support this effort, we created a detailed plan containing around 10,000 lines using SmartSheet. This collaborative tool has greatly facilitated the breakdown of tasks and enabled effective tracking of deliverables and dependencies, providing clear visibility and tollgates throughout the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
For larger programs, manually identifying the critical path is necessary and is a typical in nature. Including a critical path functionality that automatically highlights key tasks would be a significant advantage for users.

What do you like best about the product?
It is a powerful tool that can run scripts and macros and is user-friendly and saves time and money. Easy to integrate with other systems. Easy to implement and works well for customer support queries.

Not anything now just working 100% so far

Can automate a lot of calculations and send out reminders for work to be completed by when and by whom. I have saved a lot of time in having to do things manually

Very disappointed in Smartsheet's predatory billing practices

Ease of use and functionality of Smartsheet's project management and scheduling software
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is incredibly deceptive around non-licensed users, and creating billing around signing up users without their knowledge. One of the reasons we went down the Smartsheet path was due to the ability for non-licensed people to update the sheets. Smartsheet allows non-licensed (or free) users to collaborate on sheets, reports, and dashboards that they've been shared to, but they cannot create new ones.
However, if someone on your plan shares a sheet, report, dashboard, or workspace, shared users will gain Provisional Member status. Provisional Member status changes to a paid user automatically after 30 days .” This generated a huge invoice our company was unaware of. There is no way to turn off automatic billed licensing
In addition, when a new "non-licensed" users creates an account so they can access a shared sheet, the system automatically generates and email to the admin stating "John Doe" has requested user access (implying but not stating and new license), this occurs many times over the next several months confusing both the admin and user.
This is clearly predatory!

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the automations feature, particularly for the ability to transfer rows between sheets. As a grant writer, this really supports my ability to keep information organized by stage (pre/mid/post-application), and organize columns appropriately based on those stages. I also really appreciate the row links and comments features. Easy to use and customize with a basic understanding. Drop downs and conditional formatting are really easy and excellent, too.

I wish there was the ability to organize multiple sheets into one workbook, like excel?

Easy to understand software for hard tasks
What do you like best about the product?
It is very intuitive. Due to the similarity in the design with Excel you do not need to spend much time to explore and configure the forms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The limit on the number of the fields in the forms - would be better to increase the limit or not to have it at all.
Also, the restriction to have the duplicated names of the fields. Sometime you should have two or more fields with the same name, and it cannot be worked out with the logics.

We were collecting requests from different stakeholders from all over the world. Even though we had GMS, Smartsheet made it easier and faster for all sides.
