Streamlined Reporting with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I like that with Smartsheet, I don't have to find a file or report, or repeat my work every month or quarter. The form is there every time, which helps eliminate redundancy and wasted time. I don't have to worry that reports aren't submitted on time or to the correct person. Switching to Smartsheet allowed us to enter data directly instead of filling and filing spreadsheets. The initial setup was easy, and the product has been fairly easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is important to keep your Smartsheet accounts organized. I have multiple work email addresses and sometimes I log in to the wrong account, which can waste time and energy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps eliminate redundancy and wasted time by keeping report forms accessible, ensuring timely and correct submissions. I don't have to redo work every month or quarter.

Powerful Tool, Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I use Smartsheet for organizing projects, keeping conference information accurate, and sending alerts to my teams about important changes. I love that you can set alerts for specific people to be notified about updates and changes, which I find very helpful. Smartsheet helps me keep projects flowing because of how organized it is, and I can set up sheets for issues that arise between team meetings, allowing users to prioritize alerts and respond accordingly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not believe it is very user friendly when you first start using it. It took a while for me to really learn the functions. I believe maybe having a guide or demo would be helpful for the most common functions. I was completely lost when I started using the software initially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Smartsheet to organize projects and keep information accurate, which keeps projects flowing smoothly. I also love its alert system, which allows specific team members to be notified about important changes, helping them prioritize and respond accordingly.
Steep Learning Curve, But Worth It
What do you like best about the product?
I like how Smartsheet, once you get to know how to use it, flows really well and is easy to set up. I find the dependencies and overall time tracking features helpful. Setting up integrations, like with Slack, enhances its functionality for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
the learning curve could be less steep
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves the issue of tasks getting lost in projects and ensures all issues are tracked. Once familiar, it's easy to set up and flows well for managing dependencies and time tracking.
Smartsheet Automations, Forms, and Flexible Permissions Make Collaboration Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I love the automations that are available to use, the forms you can create and link to the sheets, and that multiple users can be involved with varying levels of permissions to fully integrate everyone without giving anyone too much access.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the free version of Smartsheet is so limited and individuals outside of the subscription can't use it efficiently to interact with the sheets I create. This leads to me having to utilize another brand's smart sheet and cloud for certain clients which is very inconvenient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating automations in the approval processes and maximizing efficiency of onboarding and organization of employee information has been extremely helpful.
Cleaner, More Reliable Excel-Like Tool That Fits Seamlessly Into Our Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
It operates like a cleaner version of Microsoft Excel, with a User Interface that is easier to operate. My standard use is to create forms for customer responses tied back to a results worksheet. I find it simple to integrate it back to my standard workflow and CRM software for better results tracking. I've noticed that as a web platform, it performs more reliably than MS Excel. I'm a user, not an admin or DM, and am unsure of where pricing lines up against MS 365, but the ROI seems to be good as we're maintaining our licenses currently.
What do you dislike about the product?
As our org is tied into MS 365, there are some feature redundancies that lead to delays in production as I'm deciding which platform to produce my work in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows me to build, integrate, and distribute feedback forms and engagement tools easily. The data recorded is easy to use and allows me to glean insights from daily interactions.
Easy to Use Workflow Automation Across All Areas

What do you dislike about the product?
Conditional formatting could be improved; I had a few problems with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The automation features and the way tasks or projects are displayed help a lot.
Flexible, Easy-to-Use Project Management with Powerful Automation and Dashboards
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet’s biggest strength is its flexibility and ease of use. It combines the familiarity of a spreadsheet with powerful project management features, making it easy to track tasks, timelines, and dependencies without a steep learning curve. The automation workflows, dashboards, and reporting capabilities provide strong visibility and help streamline coordination across teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Least helpful / downsides:
Limited depth for complex projects – Not as powerful as tools like MS Project or Jira for advanced dependencies, resource planning, or large-scale programs
Performance issues with large sheets – Can slow down when handling heavy data or multiple linked sheets
Cost scales quickly – Licensing can become expensive as more users and features are added
Basic UI for advanced use – While simple, it can feel restrictive and less intuitive for complex workflows
Reporting limitations – Dashboards are good, but deep analytics and customization are somewhat limited
Automation constraints – Useful, but not as flexible as dedicated workflow automation tools
Dependency management is not very strong – Handling complex inter-project dependencies can be cumbersome
In short:
Great for structured collaboration, but not ideal for highly complex project management or large enterprise-scale planning.
