I like Smartsheet for its versatility and the way it organizes complex work in a simple, spreadsheet-like interface. It's easy to adopt because of its familiarity combined with powerful project management and collaboration tools. The real-time collaboration features are particularly great because team members can update tasks, leave comments, and share files, which helps ensure everyone stays on the same page and reduces miscommunication. I also appreciate the automation capabilities for tasks like reminders, approvals, and notifications, as they save time and reduce human error. The initial setup was very easy and simple, which is a huge plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is a powerful tool, there are a few areas where it could be improved: Complexity for Large Projects: Managing very large or highly complex projects with many dependencies can become overwhelming, and some features may feel less intuitive in those scenarios. Advanced Features Require Training: While basic tasks are easy, advanced functionalities like automation, formulas, and integrations may require additional training or support to use effectively. Cost for Small Teams: Pricing can be high for smaller teams or individual users, especially when advanced features or multiple users are needed. User Interface Simplification for Large Projects: While the spreadsheet-like interface is familiar, managing very large projects with many sheets, dependencies, and dashboards can feel cluttered. A more streamlined view or project hierarchy could make navigation easier. Ease of the functionalities. Smartsheet has a wide range of tools that can be used to work efficiently. There's a lot of features I haven't fully discovered, yet everything feels easy and straight forward to use. The best way to describe it, is excel on steroids and made easier to operate. I'm using smartsheet on a daily basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you are working collaborative, the overwriting of other colleagues changes is not always very handy. If this could be improved so it's more direct and every change gets automatically autosaved, that would improve the overall experience even more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet gives a good overview and ease to work on files, this helps me and the team to do our job even when we are not together. It gives clear overview and it makes it easy for everyone to work together on the same project and update each other without being in the same room.

This tool has been very helpful in managing the tasks assigned by senior management. The notification and reminder automations are especially useful and make our work much easier.

They have recently updated their licensing model, particularly affecting situations where you need to share with external parties or add extra collaborators. Now, if you want certain people to contribute to specific sheets without granting them full access to entire projects, the process has changed.
