Great tool for our team
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Smartsheet for about a year for our Bids and Proposals department of eight people. It has helped us to increase the functionality of our main spreadsheet, which we use to track all of the bids and proposals we are working on. Smartsheet has functionality that we previously didn't have when we were using Google Sheets for this. For example, we can attach documents to the sheet; link to the submittal websites; and use conditional formatting and dropdown boxes with different colors to assign tasks to team members. The entire team uses this spreadsheet every day to track our individual portions of the process, and we put it up on the screen in our daily meetings to discuss various matters that are of relevance to more than one person.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has happened a number of times that all or most of the data on our spreadsheet has just inexplicably vanished for a period of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It saves us time in our busy schedule to have a shared spreadsheet with this degree of functionality.
Great for Organizing and Tracking Work
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is easy to use and feels familiar, like working in a spreadsheet, but with project management features built in. I like how I can share sheets with teammates, set reminders, and keep track of tasks in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the advanced features take a little time to learn, and the interface can feel crowded if there’s a lot of data on one sheet. It would be nice if reporting and dashboards were even more customizable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet helps us centralize project tracking and task management. Instead of using multiple spreadsheets and email threads, we can organize deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress in one place. This has improved visibility across the team, reduced missed deadlines, and made collaboration much smoother.

Smartsheet has been a game-changer for managing projects and team collaboration. The platform is intuitive, flexible, and allows us to customize workflows to match our needs. Features like automated alerts, dashboards, and collaborative sheets make it easy to keep everyone aligned and on track.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Smartsheet is powerful, reporting can feel a bit limited. Building detailed or highly customized reports isn’t always intuitive, and sometimes it takes extra time to pull the exact insights we need. The reporting features work well for basic overviews, but more flexibility and easier formatting options would make them even stronger.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet has helped reduce the manual effort of managing projects by automating repetitive tasks. The automation features for assigning tasks and sending reminders ensure that nothing slips through the cracks and that team members stay accountable without constant follow-up.
Filtering makes it easy to view only the information that’s relevant, which cuts down on clutter and helps us focus on priorities. Altogether, these features save time, keep projects moving forward, and give us better visibility into progress.

What do you like best about the product?
You can link sheets together and save data efficiently. Once you have set up the system, it becomes intuitive and easy to navigate. I appreciate that it allows you to chart out every aspect of a job and create a timeline for it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when you link sheets it takes a minute to update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate the communication and data storage features. I like that you can leave notes without having to send emails, and that all the project information can be stored in one place.
Robust Project Management with Smartsheet, Needs Better Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Smartsheet effectively addresses source of truth issues that exist when using excel or other similar software. By allowing me to share specific data attributes (columns) with stakeholders with read and/or write permissions via Dynamic View without having outdated or disparate datasets. I enjoy its powerful features in reports like filtering, grouping, and summarizing, and then the ability to share the report or dashboard (publish) or email the report on recurring schedules. Connectors, like Jira and Microsoft Dynamics 365, have allowed me to gain insights with the data in those systems in ways a could not have without utilizing Smartsheet
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Smartsheet is not sufficiently robust in its collaboration features. Additionally, I dislike the current limitations in automation, specifically the inability to have automations interact with sheet summary fields. Smartsheet would be able to replace so many more systems if it could natively support dynamic dropdown lists in both sheets and forms.

I use Smartsheet to solve source of truth issues, allowing me to share specific data attributes with stakeholders, enhancing data management and accessibility.

General dashboard & easy cross sheet referencing

Certain formulas that simplify lookups or calculations on your sheet.
Possibility to indicate that a formula is column type, so calculation is always done when adding new lines to a sheet.

Sometimes slow in the application for loading reports.
Limitation on formulas that were common in Excel that are not present in Smartsheet, but there were also formulas that were new that are handy.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a view on all projects in 1 view (dashboard) and making sure that the team is up to date with all different projects and releases that are being done for our brand.
Not having 10 different files to open but having 1 dashboard were each employee can have their personal one and click on which type to follow up and adapt the data within the reports.

Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has helped me track a lot of my jobs within my line of work. I tend to have about on average 50 jobs.
Before I used to use excel in order to track it but since I started using Smartsheet it has helped me a lot. The main reason it has been useful because both me and my other colleague can work on it at the same time. They can update the jobs via their phones and tablets.

Right now, there isn’t much to dislike but that’s because I haven’t learnt everything that Smartsheet can do

Highly flexible and intuitive platform for managing projects and tracking progresses, deliverables, documentation. I appreciate its ability to integrate with other tools and automate workflows, which helps streamline repetitive tasks. Smartsheet support team has been extremely responsive and knowledgeable

It has some limitations when it comes to building advanced charts and reports. The customization options for visualizing data are somewhat restricted, which can make it harder to present insights in a dynamic or visually compelling way.
