Smartsheet useful for project management - as long as you are willing to learn
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is hugely adaptable, similar to excel but much better connected for project management. It has been really helpful in managing our project and keeping us on track for our twice weekly project update meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
- It is not the easiest system to use and requires considerable training for non-project management staff, this has made it difficult to get the organisation to properly use it, for example guest users and those that don't use it regualry
- It has a lot of features but these are complex to master, I dont think I use it to its full capability. This is more difficult because the modular basis seems to put additional features, that would seem to improve ease of use, behind a paywall we cant justify paying for.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been really helpful to keep track key dates in our reporting schedule and keep us on track.
a tool that simplifies management
What do you like best about the product?
The graphics are absolutely simple and intuitive, the number of tools available can meet every need, tagging colleagues with automated notifications, the comments section, the ease of adding and removing columns in a specific sheet, the ease of producing reports, the ease of sharing them, and the ability to export in Excel. The simplicity of creating different fields with different data types.
What do you dislike about the product?
I did not find it very easy to make all my sheets communicate with my main database. Creating a Gantt chart, it is difficult to make it interact with a data collection sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to manage all incoming projects, I record them on Smartsheet and the initial activities to be performed on them are automatically highlighted. I also use it to manage my team's activities, I schedule them, plan, and keep track of everything. My team is responsible for filling out fields duly prepared to track project data, and each person is responsible for their activity calendar. Tagging colleagues when their intervention is needed regarding a certain issue by writing the request in the comments section is extremely convenient because it allows for tracking the request and the response. Attaching files directly in the comments section is very useful because everything remains well tracked.

What do you like best about the product?
The smartsheet live is very good which allows multiple users to impact a spreadsheet / workflow. As a new user it is very similar to other spreadsheets
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe that for reporting and data analytics purposes Smartsheet should provide a more structured approach to ensure it is compatible with export into Excel to use for PowerBI. Smartsheet could be easier to use and be a user friendly spreadsheet resource.

How it evolves and improves over the time.

What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes the changes takes a bit more time than expected. and the bad part is that with some new views they don't have all the functionalities.

Smartsheet is a nice online spreadsheet with some nice additional features

The task automations work easy to set up a automated workflows like notifications and updating status fields

It would be great to work online as we do not always have internet available

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Smartsheet is how adaptable it is. It works for simple task tracking but also supports complex projects with automations and dashboards. It’s great for keeping everyone on the same page

The only drawback I’ve found is that it takes a little time to get familiar with all the features. Once you’re past that, it’s very effective

Smartsheet helps solve the problem of scattered project information. Instead of juggling spreadsheets, emails, and chat threads, everything is in one place. It keeps tasks, deadlines, and updates visible to the whole team, which reduces miscommunication and saves time. The automation features also cut down on manual follow-ups, so we can focus more on actually moving projects forward
Underwhelming Experience with Smartsheet
What do you like best about the product?
I find the setup process of Smartsheet straightforward and manageable. It was not difficult to get started, which helped in adapting to the tool quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am not satisfied with Smartsheet because I can't assign more than one person to an activity with different time allocations. This limitation forces me to duplicate activities, which is inefficient. Additionally, compared to Microsoft Project, my initial feeling and overall experience with Smartsheet have been less favorable. The features that Microsoft Project offers seem more suited to my needs, therefore I do not see enough benefits or distinctive features in Smartsheet that would motivate me to consider purchasing it again.

I find no benefit in using Smartsheet, as it lacks flexibility in assigning activities to multiple people with different time allocations, forcing me to duplicate entries.
Great for communication
What do you like best about the product?
I like the visibility that was the best part.
What do you dislike about the product?
I thought everything was helpful so no not really.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me communicate to other departments without contacting them.
Not too experience with it. I would recommend to others.
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to work on it with a group. Even though the group is not in the same building we can get our work complete.
What do you dislike about the product?
How the columns get squished. Would be nice if the columns stayed normal so you can read it better.

We have weekly meetings and we are not all in the same building. we can all log into smartsheets and fill in our data.
Easy way for tracking projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like how it integrates with our database of users. I can assign projects using my teams email addresses and it holds them accountable for making updates. The UI is easy and intuitive. Smartsheet has made it possible for us to track and capture value creation projects over the last 5 years of use. We can easily summarize and report to leadership using this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I still find myself exporting to Excel for certain tasks. Sometimes I feel "locked in" with the way the Smartsheet format works. This is mostly a positive as it creates a consistent experience, but sometimes I prefer the flexibilty of Excel.

Tracking value creation projects for 30-40 users across many departments.
