SmartSheet keeps me organized
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet keeps me organized. I work with a ton of different customers, on a ton of a different projects, and I always have a million balls in the air at any given time. Smartsheet helps me keep track of everything I need to do, for everyone. Before I started using it effectively, I had tried a number of different systems to just keep track of the things I needed to do. Smartsheet is by far the best, fastest, easiest, and most effective way I've found to do it. There's a lot of other things I use it for, but the quick form add to my lists is my favorite.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a lot of ability to create and automate workflow, but I would like to see it improve more so that I can set up more steps in any individual workflow and better control the order in which my workflows fire.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of all the projects I work on and all my tasks at any given moment. It keeps me organized.
The automation almost writes itself
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet makes it easy to drive engagement with minimal explanation. I have a sheet that creates a record for each potential attendee, they get a yes/no response, and I can see at a glance that each event has the right people attending. In project summary sheets, the automated update request ensures everyone has the latest information ready to go - even if their update for that period is "no progress."
The features are constantly improving. The appearance of new capabilities in data presentation and automation shows that they are dedicated to continuously improving the experience.
The training features are crucial - not because Smartsheet is challenging to use, but because there's so much capability built-in and available expertise on optimizing your experience.

What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet is not a set-and-forget tool; it needs an active administrator. Have a sheet column with a contacts dropdown? Someone needs to edit that column's list for every change - there isn't a way to make a sheet of potential inputs. Those dropdowns require listed values for forms.
Contacts are handled - oddly; in filters and summaries, a person added by the smartsheet contact object shows up differently than the same person added by their linked email.
Cross-sheet updates don't always trigger like they should. Sometimes when an automated task is set to run on a value change where the cell of concern is calculated from another sheet, the task doesn't recognize a difference originating from the other sheet as a value change in the automated sheet.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet shows our leaders and us that our distribution of work matches our priorities. We don't spend hours filling out biweekly data to populate a chart that takes ten minutes to read.
Amazing Project management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is one of the excellent tools for a project manager. It is simple and effective. Looks professional and does the job. I love it. Switched from MS project to Smarstsheet.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as of now. Using it for more than one year. Nothing to complain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it for tracking projects and portfolio management.Easy to use and track projects with details info. Great for Agile project management.
There when I needed SOLUTIONS.
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an extremely easy to use and understand form-builder. It was an amazing solution for an issue we experienced while updating one of our current systems. The system was down for 10 calendar days during change-over, and we needed a way for people to still submit information to be reviewed, corrected, and approved by key participants so that our team could finalize and submit things to our sponsors in a timely manner. It was relatively simple to set up. I was able to load in sufficient data to enable routing to various parties for review and approval. I was able to include some ability to request changes/corrections. And our campus was happy with it. That was a very big deal. We got massively positive feedback for something that would not have been possible without Smartsheet's capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that I would love to see improved (not necessarily dislike... just more and better functionality). Being able to customize sizing and placement of branding (logos) would be amazing. The background image placement/sizing is also a little less than amazing. Additionally, I would like to see the ability to have a password required for external invited users who may not be Smartsheet customers themselves, but who are essential to our process and who we would like some method of verifying even though we're not an enterprise level user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm now using Smartsheet to gather information from participants for conferences, help connect campus users for different opportunities, and to automate some processes that were highly email intensive in the past.
Amazing platform to build solutions to business problems with no programming skills required
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is fairly intuitive, and with just a small amount of training, it is effectively a lego kit of building blocks that allows one to make simple and even highly complex solutions to run the business.
From project management to intake and work queues, to asset management, to literally thousands of other solutions, it is not difficult to quickly make something of huge value and run it well.
The forms functionality is one of the best in the business and the automation the tool can do in the backend is extensive.
In addition, most people end users can learn the tool very quickly as it generally looks and acts like excel (which can be a blessing and a curse).

What do you dislike about the product?
I mentioned above that the fact it looks and acts a bit like excel is sometimes a curse. Many people confuse it with excel and think the functionality is the same (which it very much is not). Tha brings a negative forward that it the product is not visually exciting (same as excel).
I understand they are currently working on doing a major overall to the visuals, so that may become a positive in the coming months/years.
I also dislike how easy it can be to break some (not all) solutions. They recently fixed an area that breaks across reports, but there are more ways a great solution can come tumbling down if safegaurds are not built in from the builder or they make some minor mistakes.
A few features that would turn it from great to amazing are still not implemented (Dynamic drop downs based on previous questions, the ability to house metadata or entries in a repository across sheets for ease of update/reference, etc).
One more negative is that I understand that is not an inexpensive tool. If one is smart on license control (knowing which users need to be just free users), it can be more reasonable, but the paid licenses can add up quickly.
Overall, I think the positives grossly outnumber the flaws.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it heavily across our company for general intake and management of requests for things or comments, but also in the departments, I was in for a highly extensive project management solution (PPM) that rivals some of the biggest players in the PPM space, complete with an holistic well made calendar.
We also use it for extensive lifecycle management of assets (an extensive cataloging system that interconnects with other catalogs). Other solutions are built in our department and others. It has become integral to our business and provides a lot of benefits.

Simple to learn and use, incredibly powerful
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is an outstanding collaboration tool. I am a consultant and use it constantly to gather information, act on it and keep everyone in the loop on the direction and desired outcomes. In addition to being intuitive, it is a powerful tool that supports both my licensed teammates as well as more casual users from whom we need input. It's excel-like functionality means less training for individuals who've grown up with that tool - so many functions work exactly as they do in Excel - and the dashboarding is intuitive and a snap to setup. My C-Level clients love the real time status provided by dashboarding, and my line management clients love the level of detail at their fingertips. And finally, if some nuance is not supported by the core product, the level of integration - for example to Power BI - continues to astound me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love the product and look forward to its continued improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet solves a lot of issues for me. I use it for its core project management features (both Gantt and Agile Boards) as well as simple information collection (via forms) and management. Mostly I use it to collaborate with multiple clients and across several projects where I'd otherwise have to manage documents via email, SharePoint and Confluence. It's a godsend.
Smartsheet Rocks!
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet has all of the features that you wish Excel on SharePoint had - true collaboration, multiple-user editing/updates simultaneously, the ability to attach pictures, reports, etc., the ability to create forms for 3rd party users to submit results without giving them access to the sheet, automatically emailing reports, automating request for updates on rows or sheets, creating intuitive dashboards and reports, single sign-on utilizing company email address -- this list could go on and on!
Smartsheet is nimble and enables users to quickly adopt, adapt, and develop its use within an organization without requiring programming experience or any specific data analyzation knowledge. The wealth of support articles, training, templates, and community that are available make it easy to solve problems and figure out how to implement your ideas.

What do you dislike about the product?
The cost of enterprise-level licensing, along with access to direct support for the product's more complicated features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to manage workspaces, user access, data collection, and enable easy collaboration among a diverse group of users.
Smartsheet as a collaborative tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like smartsheet because It is an easy-to-use tool with great functionalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have more options to assure the security of information; options to protect parts of a sheet, for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The solved problems in my organization are regarding the sharing information; it's possible to work collaboratively and share information, also it's possible to automate processes.
Smartsheet - a must-have product for businesses of any size
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is best in class for bringing groups together with shared goals in a larger project. I love how collaborative it is without a license. So many people can benefit from the work for licensed users without having to go through extensive training. Unlike competitors, where training, licenses, and permissions are all required.
What do you dislike about the product?
One-time Excel upload, multiple uploads would be helpful. Better file organization structure. Better permissions, for example, being able to see only reports, not the sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, Timeline management and collaboration, version control
Excellent tool for managing products and raw materials
What do you like best about the product?
The versatility of the tool with the algorithms is beneficial. Workapps is a valuable tool for organizing multiple sheets into a central location for easy access for other employees.
What do you dislike about the product?
Smartsheet does not have the option to indent but instead uses the parent function, which is less effective in the older generation for usage. The sheets can also get a little dysfunctional due to the overcrowding of multiple columns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet is updating its Workapps which is becoming helpful with multiple odd sheets to a precise location for those not technologically advanced.
