Solid, reliable messaging provider
What do you like best about the product?
It just works. It's rare that we have issues with using Nexmo, but they're clear with us if there are any currently known issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's really nothing I dislike. I haven't interacted with their support much as there aren't usually issues so I can't rate that but overall it works pretty well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us provide redundancy and reliability to our own customers as well as a wide range of locations we can serve thanks to the service Nexmo provides.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations at this time other than the fact that they're a great option to consider!
Their fraud risk system could do with an overhaul
What do you like best about the product?
The pricing is fair, the choices you have are wonderful. For the brief time I was able to use the service I used the API to verify if a member's signup on our website was genuine or not (by performing a phone verification check).
What do you dislike about the product?
Fraud risk system has wrongly identified my company as high risk. We have a good reputation worldwide, registered company in the UK and have been running for more than two years. A competitor to Nexmo who we previously used and have been forced to stay with have offered an uninterrupted service to my company for a considerable time. Support was unhelpful and anonymous. From day one I got unwanted hassle from two different people from Nexmo. There's no auto reload option if the balance is low. The topup system is very restrictive compared to other competitors out there. Nexmo caused several hours of downtime because they failed to send a simple email to say that the account had been blocked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was hoping for my company to be able to use the phone verification with Nexmo, but it seems I'll have to stick to a competitor due to their fraud risk system wrongly identifying my company as high risk.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No recommendations, avoid the hassle and find a different competitor
Cheap but complicated
What do you like best about the product?
The price is very competitive - better than Twilio.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nexmo is not as user-friendly as Twilio, and it takes a while to work out the intricacies of operation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to simplify the queuing for messages - at least the user support is responsive and helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You'd better be extremely comfortable with troubleshooting. Start with the free account until you're sure.
Cheaper than twilio
What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration with the code. Easy SMS sending. Performance is pretty OK.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of support in special characters in the sending name. Crucial for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Phone verification on mobile applications. Alerts for monitoring systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use. But hey - never encountered a complex SMS solution :)
It's good so far
What do you like best about the product?
I like the clean API and it works as expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
More document about registered phone number on specific regions. Such as in US, we must buy a real phone number to send over the sms from it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Just about customer relationship and two factor authentication.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has good API and functionality.
