Great tool that helps me track training!

  • May 02, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the metrics that flow has helped provide on the training that has been complete!
What do you dislike about the product?
The amount of Information can be overwhelming at times. It would be best to let us select from drop downs of what we want to see
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding problem areas when it comes to training! Identifying which individuals are more in line with training is the best benefit I have received
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for tracking

Great potential but the metrics are not always reliable.

What do you like best about the product?
When working properly, the product can provide valuable insight into finding talent within your organization. It can also help find developers that struggle and improve their coding and code review practices.

The product is in constant evolution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The operational overhead to manage users, teams, repositories and git forks is unbearable. They really need to fix their git alias matching system. The user roles and groups are not integrated with other Pluralsight products like SKILLS which doesn't help.

Over the years, we faced multiple outages that caused the users to question the validity of the data. It is difficult to use as an input for performance when people question the reliability of FLOW. Efficiency is a metric that cannot be used reliably and coding days get impacted by normal operating practices like squashing commits and deleting branches.

Pluralsight has a pricing strategy that is not really compatible with the SaaS model. They had us commit in a multi-year contract and refused to revisit the license count for SKILLS and FLOW.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Having objective insights into the developer workforce across teams.
2. Improve coding habits within the organization.

We achieved some of the goals but problems with trust in the data and the operational burden question if we will renew the product.

Flow is an incredible tool

What do you like best about the product?
Seeing my own personal metrics and then also being able to compare them to my team. Tracking my progress through data visualization has been extremely helpful and has helped me improve.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the side panel, you can navigate to all the different metrics. I always forget which each one represents. It would be nice to have a sublabel describing it
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to dramatically improve my commit patterns. I have increased my frequency and commit risk all through seeing the metrics in Flow. I also get to see how well I work with others through the PlayerCard.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product for talent development

Data-driven management

  • April 22, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The solution provides a lot of data on the software production process. It facilitates the scaling of the team and the growth of the organization. They will relieve technical leaders from manually analyzing data
makes it easier to set goals for teams and developers.
Providers of additional information (measures) in areas difficult to measure (e.g. knowledge sharing)
What do you dislike about the product?
Configuration, user management (e.g. users merging) is something that should be ensured that the data is correct. But it's still nothing compared to the benefit of the solution
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to the tool, we rely not only on verbal opinions, but also on hard (measured) facts. There is greater variation on what work is done in teams, or whether they are consistent with the stories for sure.
There is greater transparency, it is easier to introduce changes in the production process. (you can measure the impact of a given change)

We have been using the tool since 2019 (before covid). We could easily measure the impact of remote work on teams' performance. We were not afraid to make changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out the trial period on a small team , then gradually expand the scope to more teams.

Explain to your people why you are giving them a new tool, what the benefits will be.

Don't take it as a "control only" tool

Easy insights into team productivity and bottlenecks

  • April 22, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pluralsight is continually improving upon and extending its flow services. Whilst the first iteration already gave me basic insight into the performance of my teams, the most current version gives me useful tips and advice based on the actual metrics provided.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a bit of work getting the proper data in Pluralsight. Our codebase tends to move around which means we will have to re-add it to Pluralsight. This does work without issues or disruptions to the metrics, but Pluralsight does not alert you that the data has stopped coming in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're not as much solving problems, as we're continuously improving on our processes. Pluralsight Flow gives direct insight into where the bulk of our workload lies. If Development teams become less effective, we use Flow to show us if they're perhaps spending too much time waiting on each other. But we doe the same even if the team works fine, it's always good to look into improvement oportunities.

One stop shop for tracking developer performance

  • April 22, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Code metrics - The industry average and where an individual stacks up to others
Organization wide metrics for comparison
Player card - one stop page for viewing all metrics related to a developer (Date range selection feature is very good)
Spot check
What do you dislike about the product?
Team Processes has be to improved a lot. Features like knowledge sharing, review collaboration, project timeline feel like unusable metrics. One can't make any decisions based on these metrics. Some of these dont make any sense at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization wide tracking of code fundamentals.
How various teams stack up with each other and their code performance.
One stop place for all analysis
Budgeting and management of teams
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool for any organization wanting to track code and team fundamentals. It gives a birds eyeview of your developers with industry standards.

One of the best online learning platform with quality content

  • January 13, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tutorials are very professional compared to udemy by professionalists. Previously I was using udemy, now. In my current organization, I have Pluralsight flow access; I can see the difference; it has highly professional quality tutorial content, i have done several courses like angular, CSS, LESS, project management, and more. Very good. It's easy to navigate on the training path can see the last uncompleted lesson and complete, some courses provide practical files for practical based learning.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such, but it should be less expensive to students or individuals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
learning to code
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a quality learning platform. You can use it.

Great for Tracking Metrics - KPIs & Visualise

  • October 15, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The most impressive features with Pluralsight Flow has been on the Developer Productivity, being able to look at coding efficiency, commits per day, and visualizing/integrating ML for predicting a project timeline
What do you dislike about the product?
The Product is excellent. However, with the bank of features it has, it can be laggy sometimes. Also, it is sporadic and can be one-off instances; other than that, I have not faced any challenges with the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Biggest problems that Pluralsight Flow has solved for us are improving the developer productivity, SDLC timelines, collaboration within teams, cross-pollination amongst the various projects. As a manager, it is helpful for you to see how much each of your employees contributes to the overall project and how much of that work subsequently survives and makes it into the final build.

gitprime review

  • May 31, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The point by point information and detailing over various code stores takes into consideration a remarkable perspective on building action. Hard information is out of the blue accessible to help the effect (or absence of effect) of building social and procedure changes. Capacity to take a gander at things from a 10,000ft group wide view down to a solitary donor.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I loathe about the item. As Ben Thompson and the GitPrime group know, I have a considerable rundown of item upgrades that I would love to see executed to give increasingly significant experiences to myself and my Engineering group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a superior view into how the group advanced. The group has total purchase in which has prompted better gauges by and large.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a look, on the off chance that you can manage the cost of it, it is an extremely valuable instrument and gives information that truly mirrors the truth of your group.
