Egnyte would strive more if they had offline usage , that would be great for when traveling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I currently do not have any problems with egnyte.

    Civil Engineering

One of the best cloud storage solutions for AECC

What do you like best about the product?
Customer success is top-notch, Joshua T has been great to work with, from the initial onboarding to customer engagement and front-line support. Egnyte has been very simple to implement from an administrator's standpoint, and not too many challenges for our staff. It has replaced our other cloud storage provider, which required edge servers' caching technology, so it's been used daily for the past year and has had very few hiccups. The coediting feature with Microsoft products has been great for our organization; no more file locks and read only mode.
What do you dislike about the product?
Minor issues with co-editing and syncing are affecting a very small number of users. Have been a few outages for couple of hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Moving from on premise server to the cloud.

What do you dislike about the product?
It is pricey for smaller teams or organizations.

    Publishing

3 years working solidly with Egnyte

  • August 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is pretty intuitive, and dragging and dropping large amount of files from my PC is very easy. Also moving or copying files inside the system is fairly easy. The search function works very good as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to easily duplicate a folder. Sometimes I'd rather duplicate a folder instead of creating a template.
For upload links, sometimes is not obvious for clients to hit "upload files" after selecting their files for uploading.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Main CMS for internal catalog and client self serve access to information.

Seamless and Easy File Sharing and Collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
Everyone really is loving how easy it is to access files when not in the office. Being able to access files without VPN, or pulling up pdfs through the mobile app has been mentioned a lot. Being able to continue using the same network drives/windows explorer with other users has been great. Ease of sharing files has also been good, no longer dealing with onedrive or sharepoint for sharing files or to have in-office collaboration has been amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since everything is cloud based there can be some delays when navigating around folders, we have heard some gripes about that. Smart Cache has also been helpful but has caused some issues as well, Egnyte engineers helped us with one major issue which was good. Hopefully Smart Cache can continue to be developed so small issues are resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've always heard complaints about file sharing - Onedrive and Sharepoint permissions can be finicky or a hassle for clients and consultants. With Egnyte, file sharing is pretty easy for users to do and no worries about Microsoft permissions or changes.
We've also always heard about data sprawl, we often want to collaborate on Word and Excel files together and to do that users would have to have a Teams and share that way, or what would most often happen is someone would share from there OneDrive. This caused issues where sometimes people don't know where the file is, who shared it, if someone leaves the company OneDrive files disappeared. This lets us keep all of our files on our own network drives making it much easier for everyone.

Their Customer Support is also top-notch! I get questions answered quickly and clearly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really nothing. I like it much better than even Dropbox!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives me a cloud storage as a backup for my system.

Easy to setup and easy to use storage!

What do you like best about the product?
My team was struggling with older server architecture and needed a cloud based solution. I'm not 100% sure this is cloud based but it did fix the issue for us completely. No longer need to log into a VPN at home, and our file management is much improved (i.e. we can co-work on spreadsheets now). What I like best is how naturally it integrates with Office Suite and File explorer. While we are still working on migrating our files, the ones we host with Egnyte are easy to access and easy to edit.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little unclear how their file / item limits work and we had to get a lot of questions answered before we felt it would be up to the task (we have a lot of files and items in our database). So far it's been up to the task and we haven't run into any limits, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Egnyte we would have to log into a VPN and connect to our server via a few clicks. If your PC goes to sleep or you move, you have to re-login. For many people on our team this presented workflow issues and prevented co-editing. We moved our file infrastructure to egnyte to solve these issues and so far so good.
