Intuitive Design Platform with Limitations
What do you like best about the product?
I use Canva to quickly design professional posters and presentations. It solves the problem of complex design by providing an easy-to-use template. I really like Canva's simple and easy user interface, which is important to me because it saves time and reduces effort. I can focus on my ideas instead of learning complex tools, and the initial setup was easy because of this interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced features are limited in the free version, and certain design feels restrictive when deep customization is needed. Advanced features that feel limited include access to premium templates, stock images, and the background remover.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva to quickly design professional posters and presentations. It solves the complexity of design with easy-to-use templates.
Design Simplified with High-Quality Templates
What do you like best about the product?
I love using Canva for designing marketing assets. The interface makes it easy to find my created designs in the folders, or find a new template for inspiration. The templates are great as they let me find the most fitting design easily, and with the branding package, it's a breeze to update any design or create a new one from scratch. Having a Canva Pro account is fantastic because the Pro elements are really nice and there's a lot to choose from, and they are high quality. The initial setup was easy, and as we grew our account, we discovered more features and design options. In my opinion, it's my most used and favorite tool.
What do you dislike about the product?

AI-Powered Designs with Room for Font Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
I like using Canva for designing flyers for social media and email notifications, as well as for some photo processing. I appreciate the AI generation and template store, which help me when I have no idea on how to design a flyer or what data to include. The design resize feature is also useful. When there is no template that fits my requirements, I can rely on AI generation to insert my requirements and get the result I want. I find the initial setup of Canva very easy, which is a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since I'm in Sri Lanka, I'm having a font support issue. It's better if it's possible to develop Canva to support local fonts like FM Emanee (it's not a Unicode font) and sometimes Sinhala Unicode is also not supported correctly. It's better to add some Sinhala fonts by default and support them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva to design flyers and process photos. It solves issues of removing backgrounds and filling in missing image areas. The template store and AI generation help me design when I'm out of ideas, and Design resize adds flexibility.
Effortless Design with Instant Results
What do you like best about the product?
I use Canva to quickly create visual content like social media posts, presentations, banners, and simple marketing designs. It’s especially useful when I need clean visuals fast without getting into complex design tools. The templates and drag-and-drop approach make it easy to turn ideas into shareable designs. Canva solves the problem of needing good designs without spending too much time or relying on professional design tools. It removes the complexity of traditional design software and lets me create polished visuals quickly. That saves time, reduces dependency on designers for small tasks, and helps me get content out faster. What I like most about Canva is how easy and fast it is to use. The templates, drag-and-drop editor, and built-in assets make it simple to create good-looking designs without a design background. It lets me focus on the message instead of struggling with the tool. I typically combine it with social media platforms, presentation tools, and cloud storage to share and publish designs. This makes it easy to create visuals in Canva and then use them directly across different channels without extra steps.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that could be improved in Canva is the level of control for advanced design work. For more complex layouts or detailed customization, it can feel limiting compared to professional design tools. Some features and assets are also locked behind the paid plan, which can be restrictive if you use it frequently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva to quickly create visual content, solving the problem of needing good designs without complex tools. It lets me create polished visuals fast, reducing dependency on designers and helping get content out quickly.
A user-friendly alternative to professional design software
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been using Canva extensively for creating marketing materials, social media content, presentations, and brand assets, and it has fundamentally transformed how I approach visual content creation. The platform operates as a comprehensive creative operating system that combines intuitive design tools with powerful AI capabilities, making professional-quality design accessible without requiring years of training in traditional design software.
With over 25 AI-powered tools integrated into Magic Studio, an extensive template library containing thousands of professionally designed layouts, and robust collaboration features for team workflows, Canva has positioned itself as an indispensable tool for marketers, content creators, and small business teams who need to produce polished visuals quickly and consistently.
✅ What I really like about Canva:
The drag-and-drop interface represents one of Canva’s most compelling strengths, allowing you to become productive within minutes rather than spending weeks learning complex software. You can simply select elements, move them around the canvas, resize them intuitively, and arrange compositions without memorizing keyboard shortcuts or navigating through nested menus. This accessibility has been transformative for my workflow, particularly when I need to create quick turnaround content for social media campaigns or urgent marketing materials.
The template library deserves special recognition for its breadth and quality. You have access to thousands of professionally designed templates spanning every conceivable use case, from Instagram stories and LinkedIn posts to presentation decks, infographics, brochures, business cards, and email headers.
Each template provides a solid foundation that you can customize to match brand identity, saving hours compared to starting from a blank canvas. The templates are organized by category, style, and purpose, making it easy to find exactly what you need within seconds.
Magic Studio’s AI capabilities have revolutionized how I approach content creation.
Magic Write generates copy tailored to specific audiences and brand voices, which I find particularly useful when I’m experiencing writer’s block or need variations of marketing messages for A/B testing.
Magic Design creates complete designs from simple text prompts, allowing me to describe what I need and receive multiple layout options instantly.
Magic Media produces custom images and videos based on text descriptions, eliminating the need to search through stock photo libraries when I need something specific.
Magic Resize automatically adapts designs for different platforms and formats, so I can create one Instagram post and instantly generate versions for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other channels without manually recreating each size.
The Brand Kit functionality has become essential for maintaining visual consistency across all my marketing materials . I can store up to 100 separate brands in one account, each with its own color palettes, font selections, logo variations, and pre-approved imagery. When I create new designs, all my brand assets are immediately accessible within the editor, allowing me to apply consistent styling with just a few clicks. This feature has been invaluable for ensuring that everyone on my team uses the correct brand colors, approved fonts, and official logo versions rather than creating off-brand content.
The collaboration features: Real-time collaboration allows multiple team members to work on the same design simultaneously, with changes appearing instantly for everyone viewing the project. I can leave comments directly on specific design elements, mention team members to get their attention, and have threaded discussions about revisions without switching to email or chat applications. The approval workflows let me set up review processes where designs must be approved by stakeholders before publication, reducing the risk of unauthorized or off-brand content being published.
The ability to replace logos or images across existing designs in bulk has saved me countless hours . When my brand underwent a logo refresh, I used this feature to update hundreds of existing templates and materials in minutes rather than manually opening and editing each file individually. The Bulk Create feature extends this capability further by letting me upload CSV or Excel files to automatically generate multiple variations of a design with different text, images, or data, which I use extensively for creating personalized marketing materials, event badges, or product catalogs.
Content Planner integration allows you to schedule social media posts directly from Canva without switching to separate scheduling tools . After designing social media graphics, you can immediately schedule them to post across multiple platforms at optimal times, view your content calendar, and ensure consistent posting schedules. This integration has simplified my workflow by keeping design and distribution in a single platform.
The photo editing capabilities built into Canva have eliminated my need for separate image editing software in most cases.
The background removal tool uses AI to accurately separate subjects from backgrounds with a single click, which I use constantly for product photography and creating transparent PNG files. Magic Eraser removes unwanted elements from images while intelligently filling the background, and Magic Expand extends image boundaries naturally when I need to adjust aspect ratios without cropping important elements. The photo enhancement tools automatically adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness to improve image quality.
Magic Animate adds professional animations to static designs without requiring animation expertise. you can apply entrance effects, transitions, and motion graphics to text, images, and design elements to create more engaging social media content and presentation slides. These animations are customizable in terms of timing, direction, and style, allowing you to create polished motion graphics that would otherwise require dedicated animation software.
(January 2025) The storage capacity on paid plans provides ample space for design assets and projects.
Canva Pro includes 1TB of storage, while Teams provides 1TB per team member, ensuring you never run out of space for templates, brand assets, or completed projects. This generous storage allowance means you can keep the entire design library accessible within Canva rather than managing files across multiple cloud storage services.
(January 2025) The pricing structure offers excellent value compared to professional design software subscriptions . Canva Pro costs $15 per month or $120 annually for individual users, while Teams pricing is $10 per user monthly or $100 annually with a three-user minimum. This represents a fraction of the cost of Adobe Creative Cloud subscriptions while providing the functionality that most non-designers need for business content creation.
Mobile app extends Canva’s capabilities to smartphones and tablets, allowing me to create and edit designs on the go. I’ve used the mobile app to make last-minute edits to presentations while traveling, create social media posts from my phone when inspiration strikes, and access my design library from anywhere. The mobile interface maintains most of the desktop functionality while optimizing the experience for touchscreen devices.
The learning resources and tutorials available within Canva is endless. The platform includes contextual tips, video tutorials, design courses, and an extensive knowledge base that helps you discover new features and learn design best practices. These resources are accessible directly within the editor, so you can learn while working rather than needing to seek external training materials.

What do you dislike about the product?
The export format limitations represent the most significant constraint I encounter regularly.
Canva doesn’t support exporting to professional formats like PSD, AI, or INDD, which means designs created in Canva cannot be easily transferred to Adobe software for further editing by professional designers.
The AI-generated images and videos are provided in low resolution by default, requiring workarounds to achieve high-resolution output that interrupts the workflow.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva has eliminated the steep learning curve traditionally associated with graphic design software. Team became productive within hours rather than spending months learning professional design tools, which has been critical for the ability to produce marketing content without hiring dedicated designers or outsourcing every visual project. This accessibility has empowered me to take creative control of our brand’s visual identity.
The platform solved brand consistency challenges by centralizing all brand assets in Brand Kits. Before using Canva, maintaining consistent use of brand colors, fonts, and logos across team members was nearly impossible, resulting in off-brand content that diluted our visual identity. Now everyone on my team has immediate access to approved brand assets, locked templates prevent unauthorized modifications, and I can audit design activity to ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
Canva accelerated the content production speed dramatically. What previously took hours in traditional design software now takes minutes with Canva’s templates, AI tools, and intuitive interface. I can create a complete social media campaign with graphics for six platforms in the time it used to take me to create a single polished image. This speed advantage has allowed me to increase content output without increasing headcount or budget.
The collaboration features solved coordination problems that previously required constant email exchanges, file transfers, and version control headaches. My team can now work together in real-time on designs, leave contextual feedback directly on visual elements, and maintain a single source of truth for each project.
The approval workflows ensure stakeholders review designs before publication, reducing costly mistakes and brand consistency violations.
Canva’s Magic Resize solved the tedious problem of manually recreating designs for different platforms and formats. Previously, adapting a single design for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and email headers required creating six separate files and manually adjusting layouts for each aspect ratio.
Now I create one master design and generate all size variations instantly with perfect formatting, saving hours per campaign and ensuring visual consistency across channels.
