great for do-it-yourself graphic design needs
What do you like best about the product?
The pre-existing templates make it easy for a small organization to produce quality-looking graphics in-house when needed. We still hire an outside designer for many projects, but for our social media graphics or items that need a quick turnaround, we are able to produce what we need using Canva. For someone with a design background, there's room to work outside of the templates to create from scratch - not as in-depth as using Adobe products but enough to get a quick job done. Also, using the business level subscription allows you to resize existing items you've created without starting from scratch each time - so you can easily use the same design theme and size for different uses (facebook, instagram, email header, etc.).
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like more fonts to choose from. And at times, I've tried to go back to use a template I've used before and it's no longer available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall, we've been able to streamline and focus our design budget - directing the bulk of our budget toward "big-bang" items that require a designer and being able to reduce the amount spent on day-to-day small design needs that come up on a regular basis.
In addition, the turnaround time to get promo pieces out on social media has been shortened. Canta has enabled our Communications Coordinator to create quick graphics when needed, as we sometimes need to respond to current events on social media with an unpredictable and quick turnaround time. And it has enabled other staff (like myself) to create images for our promo needs to then pass on to our Communications Coordinator which shortens the workflow process as well.

Canva Creations for the Less Than Creative
What do you like best about the product?
Canva is a great tool to create marketing material because there are presets for almost everything you can think of. If you need to make a Facebook cover photo, the dimensions used for a facebook cover photo are readily available for you to select. For Facebook Event Cover Photos, because the dimensions are different from that of a regular profile, they also have a preset specifically for that as well. There are also a variety of different templates that are both free and for sale which provides users with a diverse range of options.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform might not be the most user-friendly in that many things are quite rigid and not flexible. As such, it may be time consuming to create your masterpiece. For those who are skilled with Adobe Photoshop/Indesign/CreativeCloud, it may be way more efficient to opt for those options as they provide more flexibility once you have a vision in mind.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating marketing collateral that aligns and fits perfectly with whatever you want and wherever you want due to the diverse range of preset dimensions- no need to go out searching!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is great if you're looking for a free platform to create marketing collateral but does not offer you the flexibility needed to create advanced and highly-customized material.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Great pre made templates. Lots of capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough stick photos in the business version. Some are ridiculous and absurd.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple designs for emails and social media.
Canva is a Lifesaver for my job!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to use a pre-made design and make it my own, or design from scratch. I also love the multiple sizes, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to use some features unless paid. The lack of clip art/photos for free even in Premium
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I solved my marketing design issues. I can design social graphics, flyers, etc all very quickly and easily in Canva. This is about 50% of my job so its very helpful.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is no reason not to try Canva! It's free and so simple to use. Great way to get your feet wet with design!
Canva - Professional Marketing Collateral Anyone Can Create
What do you like best about the product?
I love the templates and the ease of use. It's very easy to modify all elements of design, incorporate your own photos and logos, and create a product that looks like a graphic designer created it. I also LOVE that it's free.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search function could be better. I spend a lot of time scrolling through designs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media content, event invitations, event signage and more can all be created with Canva at a fraction of the cost and time to get products created by a graphic designer.
Nice template, easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
They have a lot of free templates to help you to start designing. Pretty easy and straightforward to use and design my company's flyer
What do you dislike about the product?
Images are tricky to adjust once they are on the design template. Also the saved pdf template is not exactly compatible to print shop standard since there is no "bleeding" which print shops often require.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating company's flyers and brochures. Canva makes my flyers and brochures professional looking without spending extra money with professional help.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to send the pdf file to outside print shop, make sure to check with them about "bleeding" margins since the pdf file doesn't have that.

If you don't have a huge budget - this is the PERFECT tool for you to use to create quick and easy to use images.
Best Design App out there
What do you like best about the product?
We use Canva for everything at our church. Title Slides, social media posts, parent emails, and our church weekly bulletins. It is extremely easy to use this app to design professional-looking graphics for free.
Canva has also recently made it possible to do presentations on this app. I love being able to go onto the site, design something using bright, vibrant and fresh designs and then present it right from the website. The best part is that it is all free. If you are looking for something to design great looking presentations, but don't want to spend money on other high-cost platforms then Canva is the way to go for sure.
I have also noticed that they upload new templates regularly. If you are looking for something for a big business meeting, they have that type of template. If you are looking for something more laid back for trivia night at your house, then they also have that too. It is an amazing app that anyone can use, with a little bit of experimenting.

I like almost everything about Canva except the lack of stock graphics that you can use. It's not a deal-breaker for me though.

We are able to cut down on costs for a designer and have been able to do a lot of our own design in house. It has also helped us with our time for design. Canva is so simple and easy to use that it takes a fraction of the time that it would if you were using photoshop or some other design program.

Be creative when using Canva, use all the options, fonts and colors. It can be very fun creating great graphics on Canva. Look into the stickers on there. Stickers can really bring your presentation and designs to life.

Can be glitchy at times. Some features are difficult without a premium subscription.
