Amazing design tool for our office!

  • February 10, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The super easy to use interface allows me to create amazing hand-outs for our office's delegations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how so many photos require payment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Designing all of these hand-outs and pamphlets would be a hassle - and I wouldn't have control over it - but with Canva I can make it myself.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really, if you don't know how to use Photoshop or don't have access to it like me, it's an amazing tool that turns anyone into a designer for free. Fantastic - and I'm sure if I had to make a lot more design elements in a job, I'd probably pay for the premium version of it.

Canva Makes Graphic Design a Possibility for People Who Aren't Graphic Designers

  • February 09, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything. I love how there are levels of subscriptions that allow access to various things. Even the free version comes with a lot of helpful tools. It's super easy to use and creates GREAT looking graphics if you spend a little time in there. I think the most helpful thing that they do is creating templates (both free and paid) that can then be edited to suit your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes a downloaded version of an image with lines will have some lines appear in the wrong place. It can be frustrating to try to fix this issue, but it doesn't happen often.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Graphic design used to seem like an impossible hurtle because photoshop can be complicated, but canva solved that problem. We use canva to create images for our website, social media and print materials.

Easy, but sometimes freezes

  • February 07, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create designs, gives me inspiration on projects when I have no idea what to put together. Nice fonts and image gallery.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the website & mobile app tend to freeze... Also, few glitches a week is a normal practice - it won't save my designs and I have to reload a page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Direct marketing projects, social media designs. It's perfect for simple graphic design
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check it out, it's the easiest one, perfect for beginners in graphic designs.

Easy for even non art majors!

What do you like best about the product?
I love the templates that Canva provides you with. I just scroll through the list and pick out the template that I like. Also, they have a lot of fonts that I really like. Most of the fonts aren't seen on Microsoft or Google products. They also have a lot of icons that you can add like stickers.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the times when I go through the list of the templates, the ones that I like the most are the ones that I have to pay off. Sometimes they will make me pay for stickers, which is kind of ridiculous.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to create posters for the undergrad and graduate students (or even faculties) to come and listen to speakers. The previous posters were created on word document or powerpoint. They looked very boring and uninteresting. With Canva, I was able to make posters that looked like they were created by a graphic designer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Create more free templates. I would add more fonts as well.

Great online platform

What do you like best about the product?
It's so, so easy to make beautiful designs. And, if you have the time to work a little harder, it's easy to create something pretty spectacular.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I can't change the size of my projects. I don't like how some shapes that I think are basic cost money. I also just ordered business cards from a canva design - it was easy to do, but they came out the wrong color.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social media, graphics for emails.

Great for simple projects

What do you like best about the product?
Canva makes it so easy to come up with a graphic or invitation that looks nice and professional. They have a ton of free templates and elements, and as long as you can work within those, you will be good to go. They make it super easy to download high-quality versions of your work on .pdf, .jpeg, and .png so you will be able to print or use your work on the web, no problem. It is virtually impossible not to come away with a nice-looking graphic, even if you have zero experience in graphic design.
What do you dislike about the product?
As far as customizing the templates in Canva, you can be fairly limited. As long as you only use the template and elements native to their site, you won't run into any issues. However, if you have to incorporate specific logos (like I do) or other elements, things can start getting tricky. It doesn't always agree with outside elements, and the simple structure of it can become frustrating as you realize how limited you are. You are going to come away with a graphic, but it's going to be a Canva graphic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My business didn't have the budget for a graphic designer, so I took over the role, with very little knowledge of some of the traditional programs like Photoshop or InDesign. I've been able to make Canva work for me so that we haven't needed to hire a graphic designer, and the graphics always look very nice and very professional. Realistically one could use Canva with no graphic design experience and be fine, just as long as they didn't need too many customizations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely try it out. In the event that Canva hasn't been able to accommodate my logo specifications and customizations I've been able to download incomplete versions of the design and then add in the logos I needed on more traditional graphic design programs like Adobe Photoshop. Even with super minimal experience with this, I've been able to make it work just fine, and in most cases, this has been easier than struggling to make Canva do what you want it to with outside elements.

Amazing Website

What do you like best about the product?
It's basically a free online version of Photoshop but much easier to use. Very user friendly with a lot of free images available to use. Their paid features are worth the money as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I can say that I dislike about this website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Canva, quickly designing images, was hard to do. Now it's done with ease.

LIFE CHANGING!

  • February 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE Canva - it's so user-friendly and I've used it at multiple jobs now. It's extremely versatile.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one peeve I have with Canva is that you aren't able to search templates. Once you've chosen what kind of layout you want, it'd be helpful if I was about to search for "Halloween" or "Christmas" instead of scrolling down all of the templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If we need something done on the fly - I used Canva a lot instead of going through our designers - it's fast and it gets the job done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would suggest getting Premium if your company allows it. I was at a company that paid for Premium and I definitely see the advantages of that now that I'm a company that doesn't pay for it.

Easy to Use Design Platform

  • February 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love Canva for its professional looking designs, templates, illustrations and more. You don't have to have a graphic design degree to create something for your business or even personal use! This is great for implementing a team into your designs, with share and edit features. You can create something wonderful in a matter of minutes with this website.
What do you dislike about the product?
The server for Canva sometimes crashes and stalls, creating a lull in the saving process or making it difficult to access your files sometimes. I wish there was like an "offline" server where you could download your existing files to export and use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva is great for mass creation of a graphic. With its magic resize tool you can create a social media graphic for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest with ease. It for sure can help you save time and money! The Canva for Work platform is worth investing in for the additional features it provides, but the free version is great as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it time to figure out the flow of design and the tool bar on the side. You will get the hang of it with practice. There are a lot of tutorials online with tips and tricks for Canva. I recommend checking those out as well! There is a large community of Canva users that have figured out shortcuts and more for the website that are helpful to review. YouTube tutorials are the way to go to check out the visuals and understand the process a little bit better!
