Great web-based design app!
What do you like best about the product?
It's clean, easy to use, and it works well. We have the paid version which is excellent for keeping all the brand colors for our clients easily accessible. It's also nice to be able to peek in at what other people are working on and make modifications without emailing files back and forth a hundred times. Canva has great suggestions, awesome templates, and a nice range of icons, fonts, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search function leaves something to be desired. I wish you could filter by paid/free, illustrations/photos, etc. I also you could search templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily build and use templates so we're not reinventing the wheel. The "magic resize" feature is pretty... magical as well.
Canva for personal and professional use
What do you like best about the product?
I like the templates provided by Canva, that speed up the design process and give our publications an appealing and modern design.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to see more templates tailored for non-profit marketing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to create social media content, event invitations, website content, signage and more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Canva for time-pressed professionals, and it's great for personal use too.
Design Made Easy
What do you like best about the product?
This website has been a godsend. I work for an event planning company where we do all of our own marketing, but none of us really have any real experience in design, etc. to the point where a real program like PhotoShop or something would help us. Canva helps us create beautiful products relatively easily without having to have intense design knowledge.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's definitely a learning curve. Canva is great, but can be extremely finicky when it comes to small details. I end up spending a lot more time than I realize on Canva making very small adjustments (because I'm a super perfectionist) that I feel should be easier than Canva makes it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again, this is a great marketing tool. I can make and save flyers for all of my events very easily, and they look great. The pre-created templates make it so easy to pick and choose, and it's fairly easy to change colors and move things around as I desire. It's really an easy product for someone who has minimal design experience to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great program - just make sure that you give this to someone who is extremely patient. It definitely takes someone who is calm and patient in order to make everything perfect.
Perfect tool for social media marketers
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, simplicity, design. Canva shows how easy it is to create something beautiful even if your knowledge of design stopped at Paint program on Windows 95 ;-)
The way you can upload your photos and include them into the designs, use templates, many fonts and themes... truly stunning.
The way you can upload your photos and include them into the designs, use templates, many fonts and themes... truly stunning.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to write 40 characters if you can't think of anything that you dislike about this great tool. Maybe only sometimes it's hard to find perfect template from hundreds available... and you find yourself scrolling, and scrolling... ;-)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We save time of our designers because with Canva, social media managers and marketing people can easily create visuals they need for daily work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you struggle with creating good looking visuals for social media and your design team is always busy and they don't have time for a small things, check out Canva, because with it you can easily create engaging posts on social media, posters and even presentations if you want.
Create graphics without being a graphic designer
What do you like best about the product?
I love the templates and how fresh they are for our budding audience. I work at a children's hospital, and we have discovered that we are serving mostly millennials as parents. We are constantly looking for ways to have a digital presence and how to deliver messages in a short, concise manner but still relay relevant info. Canva is the perfect platform for people who do not serve as graphic designers, but need to deliver designed materials, i.e. social media posts, infographics, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how some of the graphics require payment, so sometimes I find that the simple graphics are not as great as they would be had our graphic designer developed the icons or layouts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this for our digital platforms now to create sharp images and maintain a consistence presence. Everyone in my office has access so we are able to collaborate across departments. I also LOVE how many templates are readily available at our templates. As we start using our CRM, we plan to employ the templates for newsletters in Canva to reach our consumers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend getting your entire team engaged with this project. It has increased our completion rates and speed of projects. We can all contribute, provide comments/feedback, and share with our clients in our organization. The templates are easy to navigate and manipulate. We love Canva!
Go-to for design dummies
What do you like best about the product?
I like using Canva because I can design beautiful invites without any background in graphic design.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike figuring out how to print the things I design to come out the way I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Event planning
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I just use the free trial of Canva, and what they make available for free works really well for my limited needs. We have a graphic designer that we outsource different projects to, but if something simple needs to be done quickly, I know I can use Canva.
Outstanding if you want to create simple or complex designs for any use:)
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to do magnificent poster designs from scratch in a matter of minutes. Canva has many useful tools such as pre-maid overlays, fonts, hundreds of free images and illusttrations as well as cool templates that enable users to give life to their ideas. For example, I use Canva to create flyers for local shops, and they love the designs I provide. What they don´t know is that it literally takes me about 5 minutes to finish their flyers!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only complaint I may have is that Canva doesn´t allow me to import custom fonts. But, actually, this isn´t a problem at all, unless you´re extremely picky with your font designs. But I wouldn´t worry about this, because Canva offers a huge arsenal of ready-to-use fonts that will fit into any design you´re working on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my humble opinion, Canva can solve any problem that graphic designers might encounter: you save a lot of time when you create posters, flyers or website headers, allowing to focus on what matters most: creating designs and selling them!!!. You also avoid spending time creating illustrations or backgrounds with the ready-to-use templates Canva offers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep up the good work. I´ve used Canva for a long time now and I can honestly say that it´s the best free software available out there. I just want to personally thank you to let us, users, use this software for free. It has helped me make my design life easier, and it´s even helped me to earn some bucks. I completely think you´re heading in the right direction. Please, don´t change, as many companies do when they´re experiencing big success
Perfect Software for Those Who Aren't Designers
What do you like best about the product?
I am not a designer. I don't have that designer touch. It's hard for me to create graphics, or good looking pictures. However, with Canva it's so easy to make anything good looking. They have templates, and preloaded images to help anyone out. Need something for facebook? Bam! Twitter? Bam! Email? Bam!
What do you dislike about the product?
After using it for so long you realize that there a ton of nickle and dime templates, and other features. They have to make money, but they need to work on making an unlimited membership instead of charging a dollar here and there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to make great looking social post and emails with Canva, without having to hire a designer and save our budget a bit more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just get an account. It's a free membership. You'll quickly find out why so many people love it.
Okay, but not the best...
What do you like best about the product?
I like that I could just jump in and start using Canva with barely any instruction. The design templates are pleasant, and the free graphics are sufficient. I used it to make a weekly work newsletter, so it was okay in terms of choosing the layout, colors, and design elements.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot more effort to create something simple than I think it needs to be. It's basically intuitive, but I ran into blips with saving and re-using the same layout for a weekly newsletter. Sometimes I was not able to login properly due to the site being down for example. You have to pay for a lot of more interesting layouts and graphics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed to make a simple weekly newsletter for work and this was a relatively simple and free option, which also allowed multiple team members to edit. It was somewhat intuitive but not as fast to use as I was hoping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth checking out, but may not be as fast or convenient as expected.
User-friendly Designing for the Not-so-Creatives
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the design options are already available to use. The design team creates themed designs for different holidays, which makes it fun to check up on regularly. The design options are available in the range of sign options; from traditional poster printing to social media memes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Naturally, I dislike what anyone dislikes: to pay for designs and icons. I do purchase icons regularly, but not often. For personal use, I go for the free items. For work use, I tend to purchase designs to make sure I create the most attractive products. I wish I can add a second user to my account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I organize events on campus and Canva.com allows me to create quick and attractive flyers for printing and social media in order to promote my events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Canva is a great tool for anyone who is in charge of promoting events in their organization. I personally do not have design skills, so this service allows me to create really attractive posters that I often get complimented for. It saves time and money.
