It's extremely easy to you, you can play around with different designs, share out your designs and get input from your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the system does freeze and I will sometimes lose the work that has been created, but rarely does that happen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to create graphics in the moment is extremely helpful. Working in social media you need to be able to jump on to something really quickly and not always do we have the time to sit and send something over to our creative department. Canva lets you design quickly, download, and post up to your channels.
LOVE CANVA
What do you like best about the product?
It is so incredibly simple to use and requires no prior knowledge of web design. I love that you can upload custom fonts, re-size previously designed graphics, and that they listen to the community and update the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Servers sometimes get overloaded and designs stop saving.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social Media design assets have a super quick turnaround that don't require going through an agency or brand partners. It also has a large library of free stock images which also eliminates are large cost that is usually required by stock image sites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are new, do the tutorials and learning materials. They are incredibly useful when learning how to navigate the program and all of its features.
Also do not forget that you can upload custom fonts, logos, and other branding materials if you upgrade to the business account. Highly recommended!
Also do not forget that you can upload custom fonts, logos, and other branding materials if you upgrade to the business account. Highly recommended!
Canva is easy to use and has amazing design templates to help my business.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to drag and drop, to create a theme, and the ability to export to pdf. I was able to create a unique syllabus for my students this semester and I plan on using it to create more amazing resources for my classroom next year. It has benefited my business as well as peaked the interest in lessons for my students. I did the trial for the premium package, and I love the ability to export with a transparent background. I created my business logo with Canva and the ability to easily download it as a pdf has left me the option to create different versions of my logo to add to my blog, products, and videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a larger selection of designs that continue to be added for the free option. The design tools that I need, like clipart, aren't always available, so I have to upload my own vectors from time to time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am better at designing to promote my business on social media. The designs gain a lot of attention from users. Canva has changed the way that I create materials for my classroom and business. I really enjoy being able to create resources for my students that engage them and make them want to complete assignments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think that the premium option is worth it if you have a business, but the free option is incredible for all the design options that it gives you.
Excellent online design software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that coming from advanced design program like Illustrator I did not miss any basic features. Very inuitive to use and different enough so I was not stuck in use pattern of Illustrator. (It is hard to use gimp :P)
What do you dislike about the product?
The only minus is that you have to work online. So with poor wifi it is hard to upload bigger images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating beautiful and unique information and visual materials for social media and website.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I still use Illustrator but for quicker projects that do not need to be 100% original looking I sue templates in Canva.
Feel like a graphic designer
What do you like best about the product?
Canva allows those who may not be graphically gifted to easily design marketing material with customization and drag and drop features. The program provides many templates and layouts that make designing a charm. From Facebook posts, posters, and website graphics, Canva has it covered. There are wonderful stock photos and design examples provided that hep with inspiration.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint with Canva is the mixture of paid and unpaid content. I would suggest that the paid content is separated in the interface to lessen frustration. I've had clients create a design without realized that they have chosen content that costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Small businesses who cannot afford a graphic designer or Adobe Suite have access to design tools through Canva. It provides them a way to create in-store posters and social media content. My clients can easily create beautiful designs and documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If a graphic designer or Adobe Suite aren't in your budget, Canva is a great option.
Best Free Design Program

There are ample illustrations and photos to use to create new documents as well as templates to help guide your designs. They have a number of great fonts to choose from as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some items cannot be flipped or the colors changed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating exciting graphic signs for library displays as well as playful and fun posters to jazz up the space. Also used for personal use such as event invitations and posters for home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product for free designs. Easy to create designs using templates so great set up for non-creative types.
Learning curve, but nice designs
What do you like best about the product?
I very much enjoy the premade templates and designs Canva makes available to you, and that there are new templates being added everyday. The designs look professional and fun, conveys a wide variety of purposes. I appreciate the variety of preset sizes for online templates, they make it much easier where you don't have to go and look up exact dimensions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The monthly subscription is expensive considering many of the templates are not user friendly for editing and making your own. There are occasional hiccups with the software with downloading completed works, but it hasn't been too big of a deal if you have patience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I appreciate being able to make professional looking social media posts and posters, it makes it look like I spent much more time and money on it than I did.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't try to stay free. It's pricey, but the premium benefits make a big difference.
Fantastically Simple Design Software!
What do you like best about the product?
I use CANVA to produce promotional materials for our nonprofit organization & partners. Its simple to navigate, easy to train others to use, and makes for clear designs.
What do you dislike about the product?
For the most part, I have no qualms with CANVA. They have plenty of free templates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Advertising and promotional logos.
Great for Pros and Noobs
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create a piece instantly, even without a ton of design experience is without a doubt the best part of Canva. Their easy to use templates make it user friendly and optimal for even professionals who may just feel a little dry in the design well. The ability to share across teams and to invite others to edit a piece is also integral to our success with Canva. I know there are probably similar services out there, but the overall UX and friendliness of it is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a huge fan of having so many paid for items, but also Canva is a business so I get it. They do offer one-time purchase vs credit which is nice so you don't feel locked in and that you're making a huge financial commitment. Sometimes they do experience technical (maybe server?) issues and when you go to download a piece, the formatting isn't quite right...but that's only happened a handful of times. When it does happen, support is there to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall - we have a huge backlog of design items that need to be created and only one designer. For smaller pieces that aren't for professional printing, our team uses Canva to solve the problem of the bottleneck that happens. Canva allows us to push messaging, social and more out quickly without having to wait for one person. Not to mention the edits are super easy, when they do come in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely take a look at competitors, but also just play around with the UX to see if it fits your needs or if you even like the designs that are a part of Canva. There's definitely a vibe with some of the pieces, so you want to make sure that you'll be able to mold it to your brand as well, if you'll be relying on some of the pre-made content.
Excellent resource anyone can use
What do you like best about the product?
The templates! Super helpful and allows anyone to create beautiful graphics for any number of social outlets. I appreciate the templates for longer-form pieces, such as ebooks. Also, really like the team function. We use it for our team to keep our brand consistent. I also appreciate their many free (and low-cost) visual elements. That saves time to have everything in one place. I can build a piece pretty easily and quickly with the elements they have in there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the text looks right in the Canva platform, but when I download it, it is off. They have been pretty quick about getting back to me when something is off, but it sometimes is delayed or I can't figure out how to get it download correctly. I do wish the "magic" resize had a few more options- Facebook link image- and also did more automatic resize. For example, the fonts re-size really small rather than filling the new space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do a daily radio show and need to create constant visual content to connect to the show. I could not do so with the same easy without canva. I am not skilled in Adobe, nor do we have a budget for the suite at this time. I appreciate that I can use Canva and it saves all my designs so I don't have to re-create the wheel every time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to get to know all that they have to offer. Make use of the templates- they will be your friend!! Additionally, make use of the "magic resize" that will allow you to quickly create pieces for multiple outlets.
