Effortless Design with Limited Advanced Features

  • December 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Canva's simplicity and the extensive library of templates and design elements. The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to create professional graphics quickly, even for someone without a design background. Features like pre-designed templates for social media, presentations, and marketing materials save a lot of time. I also appreciate the real-time collaboration tools, which let me share designs with my team and get instant feedback. The ability to customize colors, fonts, and layouts to match our brand identity is another standout feature that makes Canva so useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some things about Canva that don’t work as well for me are the limitations in customization and advanced design features. While the templates are great for quick projects, they can feel restrictive when I need to match exact brand color or create highly unique designs. Canva also lacks some advanced editing tools found in professional software, making it less suitable for complex or high-end design work. Additionally, exporting options for print projects are not as robust, and sometimes the quality doesn’t meet professional standards for large-format printing. These are areas where Canva could be improved for more demanding design needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canva for creating marketing graphics, social media posts, and presentations. It simplifies design tasks, saving time with templates and allowing collaboration for team feedback. It helps maintain brand consistency and is effective even without advanced design skills.

I like Canva's ease of use and vast template library. It significantly accelerates the creation process and allows users without professional training to produce high-quality visual content. It is extremely easy and quick to set up. I also appreciate the drag-and-drop simplicity, affordability, and real-time collaboration. The platform effectively democratizes design and makes graphic design and visual communication accessible to non-designers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canva can be improved by offering more advanced typography controls, enhanced image masking, a streamlined one-click download, and more powerful AI features for complex design tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva makes graphic design accessible and easy for non-designers, democratizing design by accelerating creation and enabling high-quality content production. We switched from InDesign due to its ease of use, template access, affordability, real-time collaboration, and drag-and-drop simplicity.

Effortless Design for Everyone—Canva Makes Creativity Simple

  • December 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Honestly, the best thing about Canva is how it just completely removes the stress from designing.
Before I found Canva, I thought I had to be an expert in Photoshop or Illustrator, which always felt overwhelming. Now, I can make professional-looking stuff for my side hustle, family events, or just fun Instagram posts in literally five minutes, even on my phone!
The template library is my absolute hero. I rarely start from scratch anymore. Need a quick banner for a Facebook group? They have 20 beautiful options. Need a presentation that doesn't look like it was made in 1998? Done.
It's truly a "design-for-the-masses" tool. I can focus on my content and message, and Canva handles all the complicated design rules for me. Plus, the drag-and-drop feature is so intuitive—my 10-year-old cousin uses it!
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of Deep Customization (The "Generic Look")
While the templates are amazing, they are too popular. If you don't heavily modify them, your brand risks looking exactly like everyone else's.
Limited Pro Control: It completely lacks the deep professional features of software like Photoshop (e.g., precise vector editing, specific text kerning, or advanced print color settings). When I need high-level unique detail, I hit a wall.
2. Internet Dependency
This is a major practical annoyance. The app is completely tied to the web.
If my Wi-Fi is spotty, the entire workflow lags or halts. There's no robust offline editing capability, which makes working while traveling or commuting impossible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I Look Professional Instantly: I can launch a new social media campaign or send a client a pitch deck that looks crisp and high-end, which builds trust and credibility for my business.
Massive Time Savings: For my social media work, I used to spend an hour on graphics. Now, I spend about 15 minutes. This extra time can be spent on customer service, content writing, or business strategy. Canva gives me time back.
Cost-Effective Scalability: Instead of paying a designer $50 for a quick flyer, I pay a small monthly fee for Pro and can create unlimited flyers, banners, and posts myself. This allows me to experiment with my marketing far more often without budget constraints.

A Game-Changer for Non-Designers

  • December 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I'm actually a total Canva newbie, but I've been using it to create social media graphics for my small business, and honestly, it's been a game changer! The templates are so easy to customize, and the design tools are super intuitive. I can just jump in and start creating without having to watch a bunch of tutorials or read a manual. I love the collaboration feature; it's super easy to work with others in real-time. The auto-save feature is a lifesaver, and using Canva with Google Drive, Dropbox, and social media schedulers saves me so much time. Canva's ease of use and affordability made it a no-brainer for us, and the templates and collaboration features make more sense for our workflow. Uploading my brand assets and setting up my brand kit was a breeze, too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I wish Canva had more advanced features for complex designs or edits. The learning curve is gentle, which is great for beginners like me, but some of the more advanced stuff feels a bit limited. Also, the templates can sometimes feel a bit too 'template-y' since you know everyone's using the same ones. I'd love more unique template options or the ability to create my own from scratch. Occasionally, the mobile app can be a bit laggy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canva's templates and drag-and-drop tools make graphic design easy for a novice like me. It saves me time, provides a professional look, and simplifies branding. The collaboration feature is seamless for team projects, and integration with other tools streamlines my workflow. However, advanced features feel limited.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like using Canva for my college presentation poster making because it offers good templates that are easier and convenient to use. The drag and drop options are fantastic, and the interface, UI, and UX are simple and intuitive. It doesn’t require a complicated login process, and I get a premium feel even with just the free access. Being a college student, it saves me a lot of time that I would otherwise spend creating presentations from scratch, thanks to the ready-made templates available for easy drag and drop.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the premium features should be accessible for free to students using their student IDs, as this would make Canva more beneficial. Also, it would be helpful if there were tutorials for those who have never used Canva before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Canva's templates make poster creation faster and easier with drag and drop, saving me time compared to other tools. It feels premium and convenient even with free access, which is ideal for a student like me.
