The best secrect scanning format I have ever used
What do you like best about the product?
By scanning throughout the development process, GitGuardian helps catch secret leaks early on, preventing them from reaching production. I use in all of my projects. Its very easy to implement and integrate with a help of a yaml file and some button clicks. Sometimes I even forget that I have gitguardian enabled, It always sves my day from a leaked secrect.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime it scans secrect from the test file and mark it as leaked secrect which can be annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accidental secrect reveal or accidental test credential revealed is being solved by GitGuardian

What do you like best about the product?
It protected my security einformation especialy mine was AWS key.
What do you dislike about the product?
If It shows me more detail way to protect the information it would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My coworker uploaded the AWS key by mistake, Gitguardian reported me, so we could revise the code.
GitGuardian served for various SCM tools.
What do you like best about the product?
For us the use case case were pretty different from usual, it was quite difficult to implement but the documentation helped a lot during the process

As it is based on GitHub, it can be imporved to suit other SCM tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its scanning the scripts on the host machines. Looking for the exposed secrets in Pre-commit, and source code.

What do you like best about the product?
Suppose we accidentally add any sensitive information e.g. secret keys/passwords to GitHub/GitLab during the file upload. In that case, GitGuardian sends an email indicating the potentially vulnerable secret data so that we can immediately fix it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't find any downsides about GitGuardian as of now. Everything worked well for me as of now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Leakage of secret data / sensitive information potentially causes a risk to the end user. It may be a financial or business loss to the organization if secret data is accidentally visible to the people outside the organization. GitGuardian solves this issue by categorizing the risk into critical/major/minor categories. We benefit in terms of knowing the possible cause and we can take immediate action to remove any sensitive data.
Clear, concise, helpful
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to set up and use, it returns informative, detailed, and actionable findings on secrets, enables us to filter irrelevant findings easily, it's two clicks integration with GitHub, have a fairly swift support and quick alerting.
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit of tinkering is needed to set it up so you don't get delivered false positives, but initial setup is expected, so not sure if it's even a downside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps detect secrets that might have been missed in previous iterations of the code, prevent devs from leaving secrets within the code (timely warning before deployment so we can review), distills segments of the code that are acceptable for public exposure.

Its proactive and helps correct sending secret by mistakes, thereby taking the needed steps to fix it

What do you like best about the product?
Alerts. GitGuardian has been saving my careless self from incurring unsolicited cost on APIs. Alerts when secrets are leaked are timely and provide insights into how to resolve them
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI feels a bit antiquated and clunky.

It's been notifying me of leaked secrets in commits.
Effective tool to find exposed secrets
What do you like best about the product?
Beautiful UI, Ease to use, very fast in finding secrets in code repositories, it took less than one minute to receive an email after some commits in a new branch I was working last week =)
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not a dislike, but I have a sugestion: I haven't studied a lot about gitguardian yet, but I think that it could have an automatic correction tool for hiding the secrets it finds in our repositories.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I still haven't studied many things in gitguardian, but it's amazing to have an automatic repository reviewer to find secrets exposed, I am now planning to study other features so I can take the next level on my code security

Gitguardian quickly detects when API keys and secrets are pushed into your repository.

The constant notification about vulnerabilities...lol

Gitguardian helps me solve the problem of dealing with exposed credentials and improves security of my CICD pipelines
