Next Generation Commerce Solution
What do you like best about the product?
The flexible structure and ease of onboarding an instance. Plus robust and well-documented API library. Commercetools provides a lot of capabilities you can enable easily with modern experience technologies.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of integrations both inbound/outbound and middleware connectors.
It would be helpful to have a set of connectors for popular systems like Salesforce and SAP ready to be integrated.
It would be helpful to have a set of connectors for popular systems like Salesforce and SAP ready to be integrated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Commercetools primarily is our headless commerce solution to integrate with various other content and experience platforms such as Adobe. It has allowed us to increase our offering to work with multiple platforms and increase our ability to prescribe an appropriate solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Commercetools for the following reasons -
1. Flexible and scalable - building out a large ecommerce solution is readily available via the Commercetools structures.
2. Headless & Cloud Native - infrastructure and API library have been built to be headless and cloud first
3. Freedom on Experience layer - build your own with modern solutions like React and Vue
4. Resources - instead of deep knowledge on platform like monolith solutions, you need to find seasoned Commerce developers experienced in building API layers, GraphQL, middleware solutions and integration architectures.

The ultimate extendable ecommerce platform
What do you like best about the product?
As a headless ecommerce platform, it offers the ultimate flexibility to meet business requirements. In some cases we use only parts of the API, in other cases it supports an entire ecommerce site. We've integrated commercetools with a custom androids app, a MS PowerApps, and B2B site (C# and .net core) and a B2C site (vue.js). I also like their support and documentation. They respond quickly if we have architectural or feature questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's definitely not a turnkey ecommerce platform. Since it's headless it requires a separate front end. They do have some starter templates and we've used Vue Storefront as a starting point to further customize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to launch a B2B and a B2C site within the last year. We are shifting a lot of business to our ecommerce channels which helps us grow and scale beyond our traditional business.
Retail re-platform from monolith to microservices and SaaS eCommerce
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility. Everything is an API. Easy to consume and mashup. The predicate language was powerful for setting up promotions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all APIs had GraphQL end points, but they are moving there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single promotions engine across multiple catalogs. Multiple channels (web, mobile, in-store) and in some cases the channel had multiple catalogs (Private label, Marketplace, Employee)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implementing a SaaS eCommerce system requires a knowledge of cloud architecture to fully take advantage of all the feature. The big advantage, no version upgrades, does add layer of continuous testing and or monitoring to ensure platform changes do not effect custom code, extensions, or the microservices integrations to up and downstream applications.
Excellent eCommerce Manager
What do you like best about the product?
What I loved most about this web manager, is that you can add a purchase Project and manage everything related to the base Project, without the need for calculators or anything complicated
What do you dislike about the product?
The web manager loads very slowly, the heavier the Project, the longer it takes to load.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I managed to connect all my purchase platforms, incluiding social ones.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, very nice platform.
