Glean is my workplace superpower
What do you like best about the product?
With more than just a handful of SaaS products at my work, searching for things has always been a difficult challenge for me, usually solved with many many tabs open at one time. Glean is a single search engine for everything I use at work.
I love that I can easily get to my search when I open a new tab in Chrome, search is lightning fast (this is a big one), and that I can search across all my work apps in the one place. I also use Glean when I need more information on colleagues and it's so handy not having to open yet another tool.
Some of the more advanced features I enjoy are "go links" (I created go/time for timesheets and I also use go links for all of my engagements as a consultant, this way I always have a quick way to get to the info I need).
Collections initially seemed like a label or tagging system on the surface, but it's fast becoming my favorite feature because it's deeply integrated with Glean search in a way that allows me to add descriptions to items, sorting items, and adding links that aren't in the index yet.
New features and improvements come frequently and the product is always improving.

What do you dislike about the product?
One of the difficulties has been getting company-wide adoption, to make better use of things like go links and collections. We're looking to roll out the chrome plugin on all machines to address this.
Our source of people data was also a little unique, and we had people spread across multiple regions. This meant that filtering that data by region was challenging at times, though it has improved with recent updates.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Glean solves the problem of multiple SaaS tools that lead to a subpar search experience (in terms of slow or difficult to operate search, and not knowing which tool will contain the information you're looking for).
Being able to quickly find what you need at work can be difficult, and with many tools and a lot of data, sometimes it's easier to recreate content than spend time searching for it, or worse still you may never find or know that a certain bit of content exists.
There's also the problem of context switching when searching. Each SaaS tool tends to have it's own different way of searching, it's own page with a list of results, and you end up with open tabs everywhere as you try to look for a piece of content.
At the end of the day, the benefit is a streamlined search experience, and being able to quickly find what I'm looking for. I tend to use search a lot more as I now enjoy the experience and can find content much quicker and get back to my task at hand.

Glean is a useful tool, but one I don't find myself using that often
What do you like best about the product?
I'm able to locate things internally that would otherwise take much longer to search for individually.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven't really found anything that I would say is an issue or needs improving
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I'm looking for specific content, presentation decks, etc. glean is really good about finding relevant information to my search
Creating calm in chaos
What do you like best about the product?
Glean is a dynamic enterprise search with an intuitive UI. It helps folks search and find the information they need to do their job, and even find information they didn't know they needed. It acts as a door to many rooms. I can confidently say it saves the company time, increases productivity, and has a high level of user satisfaction.
What do you dislike about the product?
Glean has been great to work with on our rollout and very receptive to constructive feedback such as being able to bulk verify documents, and create subcollections. They are attentive to their areas for improvement.
For potential Glean users: It is important to remember that while Glean is awesome, it shouldn't be treated as a silver bullet. Your company still needs to take ownership of its content management strategy, keep things up to date, and in the correct repository; however, functionality like verifying and deprecating content in Glean certainly helps!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Glean is solving knowledge discoverability and findability problems. We have information across many tools and it can be difficult to know WHERE to search and to know WHAT exists.
It's a super useful application. a central system for search
What do you like best about the product?
It's intuitive and easy to use. I like the UI and well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrating more platforms. Everything is working well by now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wasting less time in looking for things.
Genius!
What do you like best about the product?
The way you can take notes efficiently! It's so difficult to keep up usually, but Glean helps you record the lectures and take notes in a way that you can read them when you come back to them, and actually use them to study.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integrations with other apps/programs/devices that we use in school could be easier, e.g. the ability to import slides from different devices. That said, the app is updated often so hope to see it being more robust in the near future!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep track of notes! No longer need to listen to hours of recorded lecture or type furiously the whole class just to make sure I don't miss anything, since that means I can't listen to the actual content for fear that I may miss a little thing that may be on a test.
First universal search that actually works
What do you like best about the product?
1 place to search the dozens of different places that you need indexed
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit jarring when IT pushes it to your browser
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Modern teams use dozens of different tools that store important information. Glean enables me to not only find documents I've used in the past, it also helps me discover things I haven't seen when I'm doing research
Glean makes finding things so much easier!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to search across all my apps including email, slack, and other tools, is just simply incredible. It saves me so much time that I used to spend trying to find the right slide deck or wiki page. It helps me get to the information or document I'm looking for so my time is spent actually working, not searching.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the results can be a little overwhelming. I find a lot of things and it's not always easy to know what is still relevant and what isn't. There's a verifications feature, but we haven't adopted it enough to help with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finding what I'm looking for has always been a challenge at any company I've worked for. Glean makes it so much faster and simpler for me to find what is needed.
Glean is a great tool, for searching and finding details from internal repos.
What do you like best about the product?
I like everything about Glean , that it offers. It is like a one-shot google search for all our internal repositories, and it's ability to bring search results from multiple different tools that we use internally, saves me a bunch of time instead of going all over and manually searching
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not dislike anything about Glean to be honest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me do my job more productively as it saves a lot of time, and I can refine the search results based on the various filtering options that it offers which is great. And I am able to find answers to some of our product related questions related quickly on my own using Glean instead of spending hours of time looking up for it or consulting other team members.
One of the few "Can't Live Without" Apps in our Stack
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of time saved and the UI. Let's be honest, several big companies have completely neglected their search functionality. Glean saves the day in this regard and it's been a huge time saver. Also, it's a beautiful app!
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't run it on my home server! Maybe one day Glean will offer personal licenses so that individuals can benefit if they have the need. I'd love to see that offering and would have it up and running ASAP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not only is Glean searching faster than native offerings, but the ability to search several apps at a time is also a huge time saver. This is great for IT and InfoSec as we now have even better visibility to where important data is stored.
While not a huge part of their service, we're also in love with their Org Chart. Enough that we are likely ditching our current org chart to keep it all in Glean.
