Best scheduling and Monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using this tool for the last five years. This tool is so simple to use and user-friendly. We use this tool for scheduling and monitoring purposes. Its color feature for all the jobs like if the job got failed it will be in red if the job got completed it would be in green color. Running jobs are in yellow and waiting jobs are in gray etc. We schedule command line jobs and AFT jobs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes when we find a job in the current active job plan(AJF), there is an issue with treeing the job. This is the only problem I have seen in the past five years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have scheduled almost 35,000+ jobs in every current day plan. We monitor the jobs with the help of this tool, and when every required any emergency change, we perform the change with this tool as well.
Workload Archiving is a very good feature for us.
What do you like best about the product?
The File Transfer component is quite valuable. The integration with products such as Informatica and SAP are very valuable to us as well. Rather than having to build our own interface into those products, we can use the ones that come out of the box. The integration with databases is valuable as well. We use database jobs quite a bit."
What do you dislike about the product?
"The high availability that comes from BMC with its supplied Postgres database is very limited. Even using your customer-supplied Postgres database is problemat
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a team called pro-mon and they monitor all the jobs for us. A single view for them makes it easy for them to monitor things
Best standalone development environment

All in one shop and the best job as a code DevOps tool/utility, which gives the ability to test debug and code and can be integrated seamlessly with other third-party tools like Jenkins, GIT, etc.

multiple site customizations, user-level access are difficult to set and should be given priority.

Monitoring across all jobs/platforms to troubleshoot issues and helped identify them and improve time to market.

User friendly tools and utility. Optimized time and save effort 👌.

After refresh of session. Losing the job history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
EASY ways to run the jobs in a batch and get the outcome faster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes it's best tool for batch process
Control-M is a very nice tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I admire it's graphical layout. During batch processing i enjoyed watching progress. I worked on large system which got more than 10k jobs to execute. Options like 'n' which generate dependencies chain (predecessors and successors) was very useful to find where your processing fails. It was very easy to steer workload processing by putting F, H etc (force, hold etc) next to desired job. Also job parameterization card on which input conditions, semafors, time conditions etc was designed in user friendly way. One other options which was very nice for me was a card to define callendars (laboral days, holidays etc). C-M scheduler is my favourite along others which i got occasion to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unfortunately i got no negative expirience, sorry :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was batch support for major polish bank. Benefits are ease of use and nice interface allowing find point where batch processing stocked.
Best tool for scheduling mainframe batch jobs
What do you like best about the product?
I came across this tool a couple months ago through a colleague. I have been using it since then to schedule bulk mainframe batch transactions. The setup is very transparent and user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest I don't have anything to dislike about this. However I would suggest to include a web based setup for monitoring jobs. This could help the monitoring tech support teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to load bulk mainframe transactions on a weekly basis. The batch job set up is a hectic work. But this tool has made the job done very efficiently with in matter of time. Also there are a variety of options available to achieve them.
