An effective workday with DeepL
What do you like best about the product?
As product manager for many of our suppliers, I translate a number of documents into Norwegian. With DeepL, these tasks have become very easy. The fact that I can also translate white papers in PDF format directly is brilliant. The language module is very good, so I have also started writing in my own language and translating it into English. I highly recommend DeepL.

What do you dislike about the product?
DeepL is still somewhat unstable, causing login errors and requiring the browser to be reset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes the workday significantly easier, as all literature is in English. I really like that it supports multiple platforms. Even when I make spelling mistakes in my own language, DeepL finds the right word in the translation.

What do you like best about the product?
DeepL is the best writing program I have seen and used in practice for writing letters so far. It is easy to use and understandable for everyone.

I have nothing to criticize about the writing program.

I have no business problems, I use DeepL only for personal use.
Deepl is great but has crucial mistakes in Dutch (NL)
What do you like best about the product?
I use Deepl many times a day for translation work. Deepl translates while you type and that works very well compared to other translators. It also works great with suggestions when clicking on a word (suggestions/ variations)

What do you dislike about the product?
A] I complained about this about 2 years ago - Deepl still makes mistakes with formal / informal in the Dutch language (NL) - It still sometimes translates 'you' or 'your' wrong. It will translate 'you' or 'your' in informal to 'u' / 'uw' instead of 'je' / 'jou' (etc). You need to speak Dutch in order to understand what I mean.
B] I don't like the new version because 1] The formal/informal switch has moved to 'editing tools' . 2] I can't edit glossaries like the old look on the same translation page. 3] The undo button (command z) does not work anymore, so it does not go back to previous edits/ translations. 4] when clicking on a word it does not react as fast as the previous version (or does not react at all)
C] Deepl is sometimes very slow!
D} Glossary still does not work properly. It will take too long to explain!
This slows down my work and I'm seriously considering using the free version after 3 years.

The way it works is great most of the time and I would not be able to do my job fast enough without it and has made me a nice amount of money with my 'side job' as a translator. I do hope Deepl will reconsider the new version and fix mistakes first!

As with many other ventures, there is no direct contact; in case of problems, you have to find your way with links. But there is always a response.

The ease of use is outstanding. And I like the alternate suggestions for interpreting a phrase.

Our primary language is English, but we have a large contingent of employees whose primary language is Spanish. DeepL is great because I can immediately translate anything needed to or from English to Spanish.

DeepL provides instant, high-quality translations for so many languages and for text and images, which is extremely useful in my research. the Control+C+C shortcut is a great timesaver!

There are few downsides. I sometimes have issues with image translations and technical terms used in my field, but those are easily identified and remedied with the appropriate jargon.

I need to translate documents from multiple languages and often from sources that do not have an electronic version - being able to use text or images to translate saves so much time.
Poor service addressing a basic customer issue
What do you like best about the product?
It is fast, rather good, machine translation, which I **attempt** to use for business and personal work. I am native- or near-native-fluent in several languages and use it to generate texts in those languages. Then I edit those texts for my own style, or for differing regional vocabulary and structure. Spanish is different in Peru than Spain. French is different in Paris than Québec. USW ... as one would say in German.
Personally, it is also very useful for a number of languages I speak somewhat comfortably, but not yet fluently -- Hungarian, Swedish, and Italian being top-three of some eight. I use it as a language **instruction** tool, because I can focus on the language as used in my profession [Agronomy] to build on my solid ability to deal with daily-life when in-country.

What do you dislike about the product?
For two years I have paid the USD105 upgrade, but the system continues to restrict me to 1500 words. It refuses to accept MS-Word documents, although that's what I PAY for.
Repeated attempts to address that problem with Customer Service have gone nowhere and corrected nothing.

Speed of decent translations -- to save time for languages in which I'm totally fluent. From there it is "tweak", "polish", and adjust to my personal writing style.
