What do you like best about the product?
Modern architecture = it seldom breaks (yet the interface looks 20-years or more ago).
Broadly supported by accountants (they get free practice management capabilities... nice -- but better for them than business who have to use it who pay through the nose... not nice).
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost every useful feature comes at an extra COST, inspite of it being expensive to start. VERY poor support options -- if you REALLY need help when you need it -- best look elsewhere. Profoundly disappointed that this is wrongly considered "market leading" -- its not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Legally required accounting reporting, some automation and integration with EFTPOS suppliers and accounants who insist we use it (otherwise, charge us for it even if we don't).

What do you like best about the product?
Xero has a very user-friendly interface, robust features, and cloud-based accessibility. It works very well within our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
If i make a mistake entering in an expense and save it, it can be a pain to get it amended and re-submitted. Ulitimatley in our company (it maybe solely our company) accounts wont accept a claim in full if one entry has an error.

A tad too complex for the average user. Reports in particular are not easy to figure out which is right for any given set of data

Xero your company in one place

What do you like best about the product?
The reports it generates from the accounting balances are extremely helpful for us, allowing us to make automatic comparisons that allow us to foresee where we are financially, in cases of human error allows us to go back and make the necessary corrections which makes the failures are not a headache in terms of transactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formatting options for downloading automated reports could offer more options in a simple way, the delivery notes could throw the option to be printed for the physical filing that is done in our operations, the tool tends to slow down at times when you are scrolling down in the interface and a lot of information is being analyzed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero provides solutions perfectly compatible with our problems, keeps us up to date with our accounting and supports us in the centralization of all our accounting information, keeps up to date invoices, allows real-time quotes according to exchange rates, a powerful tool that knowing how to implement it increases the overall productivity of companies. Xero is a very complete tool to enrich the business area in which it is applied, with a series of tools ranging from simple accounting, to the management of quotes, bank reconciliations and more solutions applicable to our organization, allowing to centralize all information in one place and to manage it from anywhere.

Hate the not caring or listening to customers attitude.
Doesnt care about customers, does not listen to customers, so many features broken from last so many years, all of the attention given to UI instead of actual features

New look in Xero

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of reconcile banks & credit cards, adding in new contacts and bills & Sales.
Caluculating correct tax in payroll and ease of doing final pays.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new look in bills, you should be able to move columns so the first column you see is reference number not supplier's name. Also you should be able to hide unwanted TABS ie Planned Date. It was much easier to read when contact was smaller and in blue. With the new updates it seems the layout and look is going backward instead of forwards.
Not looking forward to new invoices in sales look.

Would like to be able to sort columns in a different order, REFERENCE NEEDS TO BE FIRST TAB.

Does its job, but value for money is questionable

What do you like best about the product?
What I like about Xero is its user-friendly interface. The dashboard is clean, designed intuitively and thus visually hence making it easy to get a snapshot of your financial situation at first glance. The software also makes robust offerings, including invoicing, expense tracking, and inventory management which can be helpful for small businesses hoping to simplify their operations forcefully.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the software showed up loaded with features but it proved to be quite a challenge to fully utilise it since I often wrested with functionality issues that impaired my ability to apply the software across my entire business.

Moreover, the cost of using Xero was one big pain point. The monthly bills were quite steep, especially considering my difficulties in fully leveraging the software's capabilities. This and my challenges in disseminating necessary information to my accountants and authorities made for a less-than-ideal experience.

In conclusion, while Xero had some merits and has the power to be a mighty tool for small businesses, it fell short of my expectations on several key elements. The steep learning point, high costs, and communication challenges made it fit less in my business needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Though the road to Xero was rockier than I could have imagined, it's tough to deny that, in the end, the software addressed several critical issues for my little lobby consulting business.

First, when Xero brought a level of order to my financial management that was previously lacking, I was able to track income and expenses all in one place, along with the management of invoices and monitoring cash flow. This central approach to financial management saved me a tremendous amount of time and effort, allowing me the focus elsewhere on other aspects of my business.

Second, Xero's cloud-based system allowed me to control my finances from anywhere at any time. That's especially useful for my lobby consulting business, where I often find myself on the move, meeting with clients or attending various events. With Xero, I could easily access my financial data in the office or out and about.

Lastly, Xero's reporting capabilities were a significant asset. The software provided detailed financial reports that gave me a clear picture of my business's financial health. These insights were game changers in helping me make informed decisions about my strategy for business and planning for future scenarios.

In conclusion, while Xero posed specific issues I had to struggle with, it also offered solutions that streamlined my financial management, provided flexibility, and added valuable insight into my knowledge of my business's financial status. Although the benefits these positives overshadow were never fully realized because of the difficulties Xero presented for me but contributed positively towards my business operations.

Good accounting software but constant price increases

What do you like best about the product?
Good, relatively easy to use package, the UI works fine in general. Easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
But poor support and unilateral price increases make it now poor value. Do look at alternatives if the subscription cost is key for you.
Serious feature lacking: unable to export receipts or attach them to invoices.
So two years down the line, price doubled and we saw no new features. None whatsoever.

I run my whole business on Xero, including billing and accounting.
