Xero for financial accounting and reporting
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to prepare financial reports through Xero and can easily be integrated with ATO portal for tax lodgements
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. Its a easy to use software that has proved very beneficial to us over the period

Best Experience for Accounts
What do you like best about the product?
It is one of the best software that I have used to manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping

bank feeds do not work as they should be and the reporting part

Invoicing to client and managing and recording my expenses

What do you like best about the product?
It is natively cloud accounting, so everything work as it should. It is a great software.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very easy nor intuitive to use or find a reporting menu. It is somewhat complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bank feeds are great and the ability to customize financial Statements even with formulas.
Best cloud accounting software
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of access, it can easily and most affordable accounting software available in the market.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's occasionally updated on a quarterly basis and adds a new feature to update the existing one. Sometimes it creates inconvenience to use. Customer care available only through email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Earlier I was preparing the financials in excel but in recent changes in the UK for filing the VAT return through MTD. I was looking for an affordable yet best software in the budget.
Xero is a trap
What do you like best about the product?
At the outset, it seems incredibly helpful across invoicing and accounting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customer service is terrible. There are threads on their help pages with hundreds of customers complaining about terrible features – or functionality they're desperate to have, dating back years. Xero seems to do zero about it.
When you finally get through to them, they're unbelievably unhelpful. Their expenses plugin was expensive and a total farce – it was hard for my team to onboard, kept insisting that we needed to offer mileage, and also kept crashing to the extent that I couldn't invite my whole team. We killed it and switched to Zoho, which was effortless.
Small things are super irritating – I have to do a 2-factor auth pretty much every time I log in, even on the same day, on the same device, and after ticking a box that says, remember this browser. Why have the box if it doesn't work?
The reports are awkward, I have everything exported to Gsheets so we can organise them properly.
The multicurrency functionality is again expensive and doesn't work well. It's extremely difficult to run a single entity with clients in multiple countries.
And the problem is that it would be unbelievably painful to get off Xero because our whole sales history – and forward bookings – are already in there.

It's great for invoicing. It was great when we were a smaller business without clients overseas paying in foreign currency. I thought it would be better to run payroll and expenses through the one platform but that was a disaster. We're now just back to invoicing and accounts, and manually working around all the problems Xero creates.
UX is a trainwreck. Made for accountants not businesses.
What do you like best about the product?
Nice name, I guess. G2 requires that more nice things are written here.
What do you dislike about the product?
Utterly unusable for businesses. It's for accountants, but accountants don't pay for it - they pass on the cost to businesses, for whom Xero is an efficient value and time destroying machine. No reports. Nested menus. Convoluted access control making delegating repetitive tasks impractical or impossible. The UI looks like it's from the early 2000s and the hopeless UX is from a planet that apparently has no humans.

Our accountants find it useful for number crunching. I find it useful for nothing.

The Xero app and web versions are different so it's harder to get what you need on the web

I can get access to my payslips easily without requesting them from my employer
Xero is great for small businesses
What do you like best about the product?
Xero is better than Quickbooks for the small business owner without a lot of bookkeeping or accounting experience. I've found that Quickbooks requires that the user have a basic understanding of double entry bookkeeping to truly be successful. Xero does not.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the reporting is lacking over what is available in Quickbooks. For most users, this isn't a problem but for a professional bookkeeper or accountant it is sometimes frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero streamlines the bookkeeping and accounting processes from invoicing to receipt storage. With just a little time regularly, a business owner can have data at his or her finger tips for business decision making and ready for tax time to boot!
Great cloud accounting software

Ability to move accounting to cloud for easier use

Not localized for EU countries such as FR, IT, ES

I can do my accounting in the cloud

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very userfriendly software to maintain accounts and understand the business's finances. I use this software day in and out!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are quite a places where we do not have audit history or trial of past changes and also few technical areas like super refunds which needs to be automated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero is comparatively better than the other Australian accounting softwares, infact we have also recommended this to a few and made them move to Xero from their previously used softwares.
