The only truly cloud native
What do you like best about the product?
Xero has been pushing how accountants and small business owners keep the books and grow their businesses for the past 10-15 years. They are an OPEN platform designed to be the hub of the financial wheel and integrate with all of the other financial tools you may need to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though they are at the forefront of technology in accounting, minor issues have survived unfixed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero brings peace of mind for the small business owner. Knowing your financial info is in order provides owners with the confidence to work to grow their business

Great software for invoices and quotes!
What do you like best about the product?
It is really helpful for creating detailed invoices when I need to break down the quote for the customer to look at!
What do you dislike about the product?
Discounts have to be entered line by line,when you want to move items on top, the process is slow

Not having to write quotes on excel anymore

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are sending a quote, make sure you review quantities well; also sometimes, when switching from one line to another don't do it with the mouse; numbers will go up or down, do it with the keyboard.

Functionality - it syncs with bank feeds, HMRC and other apps

it can be over complicated some times and I often find i need to have multi-windows open -

Booking keeping and communication with accountant .

It is a more comprehensive solution than many alternatives, but not as expensive as SAGE etc

What do you like best about the product?
This accounting software is very user-friendly for every type of person. You don't have to have an excellent knowledge of accounting principles to use this software. It is very straightforward to use since you can pull all your transactions from your bank and credit card accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero has some issues with linking with smaller banks in my area, so you have to import the transactions manually. It just adds an extra step that sometimes causes my clients problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since this product is easy to use, it has helped me convince my clients that were doing it by hand to start using accounting software. It not only helps them understand how their business is doing but helps me when it comes to preparing their tax returns. Using Xero saves time and gives us reports that we can use to help them understand their business's financial status.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When determining if you want to use the software, I would first ensure that the banks and credit card companies you have link correctly with Xero. Xero links with many outside vendors, so I would confirm that the companies you use for inventory, billing, etc., also connect with Xero to make everything streamlined.

The bank feed makes life easy without having to enter in entries manually

I wish there was a package for Ltd companies where you could file CT as well as VAT!

There is nothing that stress me when using Xero as it matches all our needs as organization.

Awesome finace tracking software for small business, non profit, and non accountants!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it's so intuitive, and easy to do things like view balances, print checks, manage company credit cards, and create invoices.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it's not always easy to create unique reports. They template reports are fine, but sometimes I need things a bit more nuanced, and its a little tricky to complete these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great way to help a small NPO with 4 departments manage our money, budget, and grant contracts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is great for a startup. A little challenging to move to Xero if you are used to using something like Quickbooks.
Xero also makes managing multiple staff who spend and bill much easier, because everyone can have an account and enter their spending and invoicing, and there is an approval mechanism so admins can see before they go out.

One of the most secure and easy to use cloud based accounting software
What do you like best about the product?
I have been scared to manage other accounting software as such as Sage group or Quickbooks. As the UI differs and one simple mistake can lead to big troubles, XERO has been the most satisfying software I have ever used. With great UI/UX.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inventory or purchase side is very basic for the software, there can be an improvement for managing the inventory side of things which will help users to manage everything in one single source instead of integrating it with other software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were managing the payroll with XERO, managing all the freelancers times for how long they worked and how much should be paid to them, manage to invoice, manage all the sales, making the end of week reports and using Hubdoc which was the best feature which has saved a lot of time for the company for data entry manually.
Good for Private Companies and Small Businesses
What do you like best about the product?
Xero is basic software that is easy to learn. You can search invoices and purchase orders in the global search field and there are a ton of reports that can be pulled via excel or CSV. There is a drag and drop feature for when invoices are entered, which is helpful. There is also an audit log.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not believe that there are many controls or approval workflows, so this would not be a good software for a public company. There is no depreciation or amortization automation so these must be done via manual journal entry.

Xero helps store invoices all in one place as well as provide generic reports for small businesses.
