Absolutely Love Xero!

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is user friendly and easy to navigate. This program connects with you bank accounts and allows you to reconcile all expenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I do not like is that once you submit an invoice you are NOT able to edit it. You have to delete it and then start over.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an all in one access point to the accounting and financing of our company!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We love this product! We highly recommend that if you are wanting to try it, go for it!

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact everything is located easily with the dashboard. Of seeing what's outstanding, what's due and what we owe as a business in one area.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I need to look how to do things online. For instance I didn't know how to raise a credit note so had to go online to research. It would be useful to have online training videos in your own Xero account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It more manageable, as I feel I am in control our clients account. I can click on a customer account and find everything I need to know as saved in one area. Contact details, notes on the account, statements, whats due in. I can add in notes to each individual invoice if overdue and my colleagues can also and view this.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its very easy to use and I love the dashboard as a quick reference when time is limited.

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely easy to use.

Bank integrations are seamless and very easy to set up.

Bank recons are almost fun to do.

Excellent integrations into VAT, Payroll and PAYE
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little 'condescending' and tries sometimes to hide perhaps a little too much of the accounting...

Overpayments and unallocated payments are lumpy to deal with because Xero wants you to allocate them against an invoice.

Does not integrate with CharlieHR (there is some disagreement between Xero and Charlie HR). I have reduced my rating to 9 because of this.

We cannot use Xero in Poland (we have a second company in Krakow).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monthly invoicing, all supplier purchase order management, VAT submission, payroll, monthly reporting, monthly management accounts.


A few years back we would need a bookkeeper to manage our VAT return, now its really a click of a button.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it - it is a great accounting package and should be good for any business up to £20m+

We do not use the expense system - paying £2 per month per person seems a lot and can manage these perfectly well for the very few expenses we have in practice.

The currency payment is worth it (even if you only have a few foreign currency payments a year).

Xero checks all the boxes for us!

What do you like best about the product?
Xero was a huge upgrade going from Quickbooks desktop to an online system. It can be accessed from anywhere at anytime without having to deal with servers and firewalls. The interface is very user friendly and navigation is pretty straightforward and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things that I would like to receive notifications for that at the moment cannot be accomodated. For example, when an invoice is paid, there is currently no way to get an email notification/confirmation. I'm not sure if it's our internet connection, but sometimes loading an account can be a bit slow. I use it almost everywhere, home, work, travel, and the load times always are about the same no matter what the speed of the internet connection. Regardless, it's significantly faster than anytime I was using Quickbooks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we have solved with Xero are the ability to receive payments online quickly, send and track invoices repeatedly with minimal effort, see an accounts historical events, and produce useful reports as needed. Generating quotes, invoices, purchase orders, bills, etc. is very easy. The repeating invoice function has also been tremendously helpful to us in ensuring that we are invoicing clients as needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Xero is 100% worth a look if you are searching for online accounting systems. The interface may not be for everyone, but for me it's really easy to use.

What do you like best about the product?
As far as cloud-based accounting software goes, Xero is one of the finest options. I am an accountant/bookkeeper so:

It's very user-friendly, designed to be usable for non-accountants. All the debit/credits etc. happen at backend and user does most things in plain language

Secondly, support. It's quite an old software with a large user-base so it's forums and Help (Xero Central) has articles on most of the common troubleshooting issues and guides for using features.

The productivity features that save time for accountants and power users like Global shortcuts, Find and Redo (mass transactions), automatic matching of transactions, labels etc.

It offers Xero advisor certification that helps regular users differentiate and showcase their expertise. and it is free, unlike say NetSuite.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is friendly but it could use some modernization.

Another thing as an accountant is that Xero didn't allow me to register as a partner because I didn't have existing clients on Xero. So I can't start over at Xero, unlike QuickBooks. I feel it a little unnecessarily elitist.

What do you like best about the product?
Within Xero, stock control and product and services add-on and archiving are handled super quick. The skill of Xeros to review accounts in depth is known by everyone of our staff. With a cloud application, Xero is updated all over the location and email addresses in real-time. In addition, it is super scalable and makes even preloading abbreviations but GL records without even coding any word.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to this program is that Xero program has eliminated many of its functionality entirely, which is really simple and useful for consumers, but still there are no more easy apps such as operation and client information and inventory monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They required more accurate financial records to small companies. We also wanted a platform that operated in our region, integrating with transfer entry points. We will now quickly see our projected results, get quality updates and save a huge amount of time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be mindful that Xero does not even worry for input from the customers. They get what they want and appear to think less for what the consumer needs. Even, it's more than for the choices.

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is available on any computer or mobile devices that is connected to internet.XERO has many accounting strength like account reconciliation, data imports, inventory management, and project tracking.Business finances and cashflow are updated in real time.Unlimited user logins. Integrates with over 600 3rd-party business applications. Supports multiple currencies. Data is accessible through a single ledger, allowing accountants and clients to collaborate around finances.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning curve(Tutorials are not in Details).
Mobile apps need improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Firstly, all client details are stored in one place so it’s nice and easy to navigate. And with everything on Xero Tax being cloud-based, I can complete returns when I’m on the road. Likewise, having electronic signatures has been a real benefit, along with the ability to compare previous years with the year to year review function which has been really helpful as well.

What do you like best about the product?
Xero program is user friendly and free with many invoices features which always produces efficient results because it processes our finance and accounts invoices and expenses and in this why, we don't really have to worry about the financial condition. I like the fact that Xero is really simple to use and it has same capabilities on our phone or on our laptop so we can easily complete our business work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero platform did not allow us to bring the book keeping in house because it has a lot of work to setup and it did not seems to understand the different sale channels for online sellers. Xero does not generate tax rates in an automated way and also it also does not allow us to log in at any time and place, due to the strictness of security.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero software is super responsive and the extremely helpful for our business because by using this efficient tool, we can easily manage our accounts and invoices in a better way. Xero software helps us so much to understand and learning about accounting. Xero is relatively easy to use and helps us a lot and allows us to see documents.

What do you like best about the product?
For the most part, it integrates nicely with a lot of other systems (banking, credit cards, payroll, etc.). It also allows for payments directly via Stripe.

The accounting software itself is pretty easy to use as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting isn't great. A lot of times there is quite a bit of manual manipulation needed to show comparative reports, Year-To-Date info and other reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It handles a lot of integrations so manual entry is limited. This saves a lot of time and headaches. Additionally, you can customize reports how you want them (for the most part) and, once saved, they are easy to reproduce.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure your systems integrate with Xero otherwise it would be a lot of manual entries.

Also, when implementing be sure to understand which reports you use frequently and have them build them for you.
