Good product but does not fit every business

What do you like best about the product?
clean layout so easy to find sections you need. Not too over priced compared to cmpetitors, offers a lot of features
What do you dislike about the product?
Help wasn't the best and did not fit our business which deals with multiple sale channels and currencies. We are a small business and did not allow us to bring the book keeping in house as was a lot of work to setup and they did not seems to understand the different sale channels for online sellers. Seems best suited to a traditional business

Best accounting software we've used

What do you like best about the product?
We recently switched over from our bookkeeping system because we needed more detailed accounting reports. Xero has been a fantastic switch! There have been no bugs and everything has just worked. It integrates well with different payment gateways which has been a huge help.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike. The only real issue is that it takes a while to learn how to use and its UI isn't as great as similar softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed more detailed small business accounting reports. We also needed a software that integrated with payment gateways that worked in our country. We now can easily see our expected income, get better reports and have saved a lot of time.

Xero is better than Quickbooks

What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface of the software and the user friendly appearance. Bank reconciliation is the easiest one on xero, when compared to other cloud softwares.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero is a little expensive for the smaller clients. It may come across as complicated for users who have no Accountancy knowledge as it seems more suitable for professional bookkeepers/accountants.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bookkeeping, MTD VAT filing, Bank reconcilations.

Xero - use it from day 1

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is unbelievable - it makes running our business so much easier. It's a one stop shop for managing our bank account transations, filing receipts and expenses, and processing tax and our VAT returns. Xero basically runs and contains our entire business - including client records and billing and everything in between.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost - £25 a month for an online database can seem steep, but I keep telling our team that it easily saves us that much every month in manpower. The integration of MTD for tax returns has been absolutely amazing - it means we can file VAT on time, every time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's allowed us to keep track of all our equipment and spending, and file receipts in a safe, secure, organised space where we can access for audits at any time. I only wish we'd used Xero from day 1 of the business!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it from day 1 of the business - it'll save you so much time

What do you like best about the product?
In Xero, the management of stocks and the addition and cataloging of products and services is done super fast. All our team recognizes Xeros' ability to examine accounts in detail. As a web service, Xero is all upgraded in real-time throughout places and email accounts. Besides, it is super adaptive and it even allows preloading spellings and GL reports without actually coding each term.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero's customer service needs to improve. I had contacted them for paperwork linked to a contract, and I did not receive a response until a week later. Also, it would be good to give multiple users different entry points, so they could have more control over the operators.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using Xero to follow up on our business' financial activities. We can also use it for drafting billing invoices for the job we do on the way out of the office or at their request by the administration and the third parties. Along with Xero we use QuickBooks, since we required a web-based solution that would reliably enable multiple people to log in and view shared data without confrontation synchronization and the need to have complex remote desktops alternatives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Xero is the ideal tool for small and medium financial enterprises. It allows us to handle several IOLTA account transfers every day with no problem at all. I consider Xero is a low-cost, simple answer that is perfectly appropriate for today's market environment.

Accounting made easy

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the software and the fact is is cloud based. Also the support clients and accountants are provided whilst using the software is second to none.
What do you dislike about the product?
The VAT Returns have gone difficult to run and therefore reports are harder to process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to prepare accounts and at a much faster rate knowing that the bank is already reconciled its just a case of doing the usual checks etc.

What do you like best about the product?
It is quite easy to get the hang of Xero with its intuitive set up and ease of keeping track of all the main business accounts. Also easy to customise certain areas such as the P&L layout which is useful for internal reporting
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be hard to reconcile certain items especially if integrated with a US bank account and also difficult to reconcile manual entries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Was able to perform daily reconciliations and reassessments of the company’s financial position. Also enabled us to produce reporting for investors in certain formats

Great product to use but there are so tweaks that would make it easier to use.

Excellent tool for all aspects of financial management

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is a very versatile tool. It allows me to pilot my bank feeds, my accounting, and my budget at the same place. This is very useful and prevents me from wasting my time trying to match data from different software. When it comes to financing, I want things to be very clear and professional.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero can be a bit daunting. You need to get used to the vocabulary as it offers lots of possibilities. To that aim, the support of my accountant has been really essential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I needed to manage at least two currencies and I wanted to manage my budget in the same tool as my accounting. Xero offers all that and more.

Easy for non-accountants and accountants alike

What do you like best about the product?
Easy interface and web based makes it easy for multiple users and off site bookkeeper.
What do you dislike about the product?
I was upset when payroll was removed. Gusto was awful so went with an independent payroll service.

Also, I would really like more control of privileges for other users. A la carte access to different features would help a lot. To provide the kind of access I would like to provide to employees would also give access to the bank balance, so I have to do a fair amount of work myself that I would prefer to delegate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It mostly does all I want. Being able to export to Excel is valuable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware that Xero really does not care about customer feedback. They do what they do and don't seem to care what the customer wants. Still, it's better than the alternatives.

What do you like best about the product?
A very easy to use product, easy to understand even for beginners, and not so tech savvy people.
What do you dislike about the product?
Quite dated UI, and not the best customer service. They took three business days to solve a problem for me which I have clearly labeled as urgent. Slow loading times sometimes as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending in company expenses and contact with accounting department.
