Better than QBO
What do you like best about the product?
Xero has finally surpassed QuickBooks Online as the best solution for small business accounting. The banking/payroll integrations work well, and the manual journal system is far superior to QBO. The fixed asset registry also beats QuickBooks Online in terms of functionality. Finally, Xero seems to be more reliable -- in the past 6 months of using Xero we have not experienced any downtime, whereas QBO seemed to be unavailable for some period of time at least every month or so.
What do you dislike about the product?
The report builder, while powerful in some ways, is difficult to use when it comes to multiple time periods (e.g. YTD reports). In addition there is no option to show account numbers on reports, which makes further manipulation more difficult (e.g. in Excel).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero has everything we need from an accounting solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I was initially put off by the lack of support for sub-accounts, but after diving in deeper this turned out not to matter. The report builder allows grouping of accounts, which accomplishes the same thing, and actually helps streamline the chart of accounts since there is no need for "dummy" accounts to use as top-level aggregate accounts.

Good for small businesses
What do you like best about the product?
This software is a great help for small businesses that cannot afford to hire a bookkeeper, it can be integrated with a lot of popular apps
What do you dislike about the product?
The prices are really high and its often better to hire someone for end of year a counts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accounting recording of transactions. It allowed me to easily record transactions and find out the money that I have.

Its good for small businesses as it provides learning and has a vast amount of resources you can use
Friendly and powerful accounting software
What do you like best about the product?
Easy of access, especially for invoicing when it comes to searching for specific clients or invoices. Can export to excel or pdf, intuitive bank reconciliation with auto matching.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero updated the interface earlier this year which in my opinion did not do the website any favors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used xero for every aspect of the business, payroll and accounting. The pricing structure is fair.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely look into this if you operate a small to medium business (less than 100 EE) - New Zealand based company which is growing and targeting the US.
Best cloud accounting software on the market!
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive and an excellent all round software giving you access to everything you need to manage your clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
I could argue that there could be more features such as a better audit trail of all activity or a better receipt capture and extraction tool built in. But there are alternatives which fill in these gaps as Xero can connect with over 600+ apps!

Saving costs on bookkeeping and offline accounting records. No more paper records and clients have access to their accounts 24/7 in real-time

100% give it a go, you get a free trial so make the most of it. Speak to. Xero expert like ourselves who can show you the benefits and soon enough you will be seeing the rewards and saving so much time.
Great connecting accounting platform
What do you like best about the product?
Its API documentation is splendid and very open, which leads to a lot of other software being able to connect to it seamlessly. This is very important in today's IOT open source environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the accounting modules are very basic, more suited for retail based businesses. Would prefer the ability to add on more complex accounting tools.

Connecting my ecommerce website with my inventory management system, as well as my CRM.

Streamlined business accounting
What do you like best about the product?
As a business accountant I use and consult on Xero for clients. I recommend Xero as being a relatively easy accounting system for businesses to implement, with a high level of intuitiveness for users. Xero stands out as having a good UI, so for these reasons is suitable for a wide range of businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Visual reporting elements could be strengthened. Integration with other solutions, for example FreshBooks, may be needed for some businesses that require features such as multiple revenue accounts.

Xero is a useful way to streamline business accounting and implement automated banking and reporting.
A good online platform for accountants and business owners
What do you like best about the product?
I like the bank reconciliation, as it is very user friendly for people less used to traditional bank reconciliation. Many of our clients have been able to use it effectively with little input from ourselves.
What do you dislike about the product?
There can sometimes be a few pages to click through for important sections. For example, "VAT Return" is an important section to get to, however it isn't initially clear how to find it.

Xero has made it very easy for clients to do the bookkeeping for their company and share it with us real time.
Use Xero for Accounting!
What do you like best about the product?
Our company is using Xero as an accounting software. We manage our bills and make expense claims through the software. I love how there is a dashboard that immediately gives you a picture of what you owe and what is owed to you. All our employees are able to use this.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero can be a bit tricky to use when filing claims. There are many fields that make it complicated. I have had to redo my expense claims several times over due to this fact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero helps us with our accounting. Instead of developing an in-house solution, we can use this outsourced software.

You should trial other accounting software such as Quikbooks.
Accounting Fun!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to streamline and integrate with other systems in order to bring your information in. Can leave a discussion for other team members or easily match up already created rules in the system to keep up to date easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The books don't always end up even at the end and I can't find a rhyme or reason as to why. The dashboard, other than knowing which feeds to go to, is incredibly difficult to read, and some of the terms they use for functions are hard to understand and thus hard to use. It is very easy to make a mistake in here. It is not clear in the records which reconciliations have gone to which accounts, which would be great information to have when trying to learn how to do/teach new functions. It's always nice to be able to go look at someone else's work to confirm you're doing something right. Sometimes the syncing doesn't go through and you have to enter things manually, and that can heavily bog down the computer and make the process slow going. I often have to restart/refresh my computer after 3-5 batch reconciliations / an hour of work.

Small business accounting of the following avenues- checking, credit, debit and paypal. Order and other income and expense allocation.
