Comprehensive accounting software
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use reporting. Budgeting and expense tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
No live bank feeds with dbs business banking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits are built in budgeting reports. Problems being solved are integrating with other software.

Decent browser UI, much more usable for mobile
What do you like best about the product?
Mobile expense upload, mobile experience all around is very intuitive. Easy to take a picture, easy submission and quick response time from finance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Website app is not as user friendly as it could be, mobile app is much easier to use. Also, difficult to use behind a firewall like Samsung Knox, but this is not a problem unique to Xero. Reporting functionality connected to the dashboard for the company could be better, seems like only certain fields are able to be pulled through API connection
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finance, expense. Ability to take pictures of receipts, automatically submit for approval. Taken the pain out of expense approval
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really good mobile experience, if you are looking for a mobile first end user experience I'd recommend. Not as friendly from a browser perspective.
Love the software and service
What do you like best about the product?
I am a big fan of Xero. We've been using their software and partnering with their team for the last 3 years. It's incredibly intuitive and easy to use. They remove most of the thinking and help us stay on top of all of our priorities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel the reporting could be more robust, but at the same time, I have had no major issues using their tech to date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero allows us to manage invoices and our A/R schedule, produce financial statements for our management team and Board, and of course, manage our accounting.
Solid Quickbooks replacement
What do you like best about the product?
We like that Xero's features/functionality and cost are vast improvements over Quickbooks.
What do you dislike about the product?
We dislike that they didn't do more to help us migrate/transition from Quickbooks to Xero. The extent of their migration assistance was sending us links to information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving our accounting needs while adding simplicity and lowering costs versus Quickbooks

Highly recommend you take a hard look at Xero as well as Entryless integration with Xero.
Great for StartUps - Very Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Xero has to be its ease of use. As a new business we didn't want a dedicated person doing our accounts. Xero handles everything for us from connecting to our bank to sending an managing invoices, we even have connected to our credit card service. As a business we spend a fraction of the time maintaining our accounts than in previous businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Payroll has been a slightly challenging but we got there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Has to be time but also anybody in the executive team can see immediately where we are on a day to day basis. Vital in a small company.

Great functionality at a very competitive price.
SME Accounting
What do you like best about the product?
Very clear to use, once it's setup a lot of previously manual processes are automated. It also integrates very nicely with several other backend systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a definite learning curve, getting it configured and getting the team up to speed

Getting clearer management accounts & integrating with other business systems (CRM, Project Management, etc)

Great Small Business Accounting Software
What do you like best about the product?
Awesome user interface to help with accounting. I like that they integrate directly with many different banks and the can pull in a live-feed. For the price, you can't beat it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The invoicing templates could use more flexibility so that I could potentially create a fully customized invoice that would replicate what I do in Google Slides currently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Every business needs to be able to have accurate accounting of expenses and cash flow in. Using Xero enables this because they directly integrate with my bank account so it makes it really easy.

Get a Xero accredited accountant/bookkeeper to advise/assist you where needed

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use and the pricing structure. I struggled a lot in quick books and it just seemed like the online version was too stripped down. Xero gave us the power back with an easy to use and robust cloud system.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have been awaiting payroll in our state since signing up, we are on to year 2 with Xero. Every time we ask it's either coming by then end of the year or we're told it's been pushed back.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a cloud based system that could be activated from anywhere. We also wanted the freedom to add as many users as needed the unlimited users was a huge selling point. Bonus was having an iOS app!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't join for the payroll. Templates are easy to use and adjust in word. Online payment integration is amazing!
clean, generally easy to use for small business accounting
What do you like best about the product?
web access and cleanliness of the overall interface. Able to get up to speed and use very quickly, even for non-accounting types.
What do you dislike about the product?
Expense management, especially for employees is terrible. Their response is to suggest you subscribe to another company's expense software or do weird workarounds via invoicing. For a start-up with employees seeking reimbursement of out of pocket expenses, it is a real negative experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standard accounting and financial oversight of start-up. Managing cash-flow, monitoring balance sheet, generating quarterly financial statements for investors. Also would like to use it for employee expense management. Main benefit is in standard financial statements management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Quickbooks and Xero are the two main choices for quick accounting packages. Easy to trial both and form your opinion. If you are not already in the Intuit application universe, Xero is a good alternative and a bit cheaper.
