What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and intuitive interface. Great integrations with other platforms. Really nice way to administer all orders, invoices, etc in a paperless environment. Easy for others to view information regardless of the their location.
What do you dislike about the product?
You will need to run training to get the most from Xero. Occasional bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves a huge amount of time for a small business with no dedicated accounting staff.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have lots of paper all over the office, get Xero. It's really simple and keeps everything up to date in one place online.

Simple, straightforward, and cloud based

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is intuitive, I don't think I've even once had to look at the help files! In addition it prompts you in ways that are genuinely helpful, e.g. asking if you would like to email your invoices, or if you want to allow customers to view their bills on line. All real world, practical stuff.

The UI is well thought out too. The Dashboard can be tailored to individual preferences, but the default view shows logical high level views.

Xero also supports full API integration so you can wire it up with your CRM.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the Dashboard elements would be better if you could combine or collapse them (e.g. Bank Accounts - you might just want the overall cash position, not a list of all your accounts). But that aside this is minor and the platform is a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Putting in new accounting package for start-up businesses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Simple, intuitive, cloud based accounting software. Full feature set, can be tailored and integrated as required. Excellent package, highly recommended for any small to medium sized business.

Xero does the job!

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is very comprehensive and easy to use. After formerly using other online accounting software I was very pleased to switch over to Xero and find it so intuitive and user friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some features of Xero that could be improved, including accessibilty to client payment history
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using this software we are able to easily track various bank accounts, A/R, A/P and cash flow.

Xero delivers as promised

What do you like best about the product?
Their UI is great and you get a great overview of your accounts from the dashboard without any hassle. It's easy to setup bank accounts and credits cards to sync and reconciling transactions is a breeze. I also love that you can use Word documents for Invoice and Quote templates instead of the built in template editor (which is limited, but still does the job in some cases). They have a lot of partner integrations available to. I am also using bill.com, and it syncs without any issues. Their mobile app, while missing a few features, makes it easy to manage and track my accounts on the go.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would really like to be able to pay an expense through the bill.com integration, but only invoices are synced. The mobile app should offer the ability to view outstanding quotes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to track quotes, invoices, and expenses and make sure I get paid and pay the right people in time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Xero is clean, easy to use, and feature rich. If your looking for a simpler platform that gets the job done, Xero will be a great fit.

What do you like best about the product?
Features I like best:
1. Automatically reconciling with bank accounts;
2. Cloud computing
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Reporting module needs a bit improvement. More robust reporting templates are needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can quickly reconcile AP/AR with bank accounts, which saved me a ton of time. Thanks.

Setting up Chart of Accounts and Departments is crucial for ongoing use.

Product Good - Vendor Relationships Such As Stripe Terrible

What do you like best about the product?
Software is graceful and easy to use. There is a lot of horsepower available, but unfortunately, will have to stop using the software because of the credit card processing vendor charging my customers but not paying us.
What do you dislike about the product?
There choice of vendors, specifically Stripe credit card processing, ends up being a poor reflection for Xero. Stripe has over $16,000 of our money and we have received $0. XERO will not help in contacting Stripe. When I contacted XERO support, they said I had to speak to Stripe. I told them I had tried 5 times with no response, they said XERO couldn't help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Billing systems. Billing process is smooth, we just don't get paid!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be careful on any recommended vendors by Xero - QC appears lacking.

What do you like best about the product?
I like using Xero Accounting for the following reasons:
1. It's Easy to use, understand or grasp even though I'm not a CA.
2. Integration with almost any platform you can think of, seamlessly.
3. I like blue.
4. It's online, no backup issues, server crashing, tape backups, all my data is where it's supposed to be.
5. Templates for any documentation you can think of, even the emails sent out to your clients happens smoothly, whether they are sent manually, automated yearly, monthly, daily etc.
6. After 5 years, I'm still the happiest pig around.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile application can include more features, but since I'm a developer. I know that the mobile application space will eventually move back to the cloud anyway.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My auditors phoned me up near the end of my company's first year in business. They needed my accounting history, whether it's receipts, little notepads lying around invoices made by hand etc. I browsed to www.xero.com and added my auditor to my company as an accountant with read-only access. Xero sent them an invitation to which they could create their own password and BANG. 15 minutes later my audit was done with the results requested.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Nothing else matters. I logged one issue in more than 5 years, mobile/web based apps included. That is a track record you can be proud of.

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and easy to understand. Run reports quickly. Bank recs are great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very simple functionality, but that's expected. Will need to upgrade to an ERP.
