Good basic accounting software for individuals or small businesses

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is easy to use and has good reporting functions. It is also reasonably priced and easy to get started using.
What do you dislike about the product?
Xero is great for individuals or small businesses, but as businesses grow, they will likely need to move out of Xero.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a way to code and match transactions, reconcile bank accounts and generate monthly financial reports.

What do you like best about the product?
There are many benefits in xero:-
(a) Instant financial reporting
(b) Payroll & fixed asset management
(c) Bank Connections
(d) Reports

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such feel while using Xero but not getting an exception report for tax is an issue

What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use, and the integrations make our business operations efficient, reducing duplications and manual inputs and improving reporting accuracy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the business settings could be easier to navigate to.

Ability to tag and notify stakeholders on tasks - it would be useful to be able to collaborate on the Xero software when it comes to chasing missing invoices and allocations.

What do you like best about the product?
We are a SME with 10 admin staff using it on a daily basis. Live bank feeds for daily reconciliation, uploading credit card expenses, attaching documents to relevant transactions are all very helpful for us. It would suit small business best I think where whoever is using the system - sales/bookkeeping/accounts payable need access to all aspects of the software - bank balances, reports, expenses. Payroll is simple, Account watch list on the dashboard is helpful to track any incorrectly coded transactions, Connects with most other software - ie inventory, payroll or job software pretty easily and seamlessly. Customer support is quick. Implentation was simple and easy
What do you dislike about the product?
We do our purchasing through Xero and we cannot attached PDF to purchase orders. And as there is 10 of us using it - staff either have hardly any access or all access (ie if you want access to accounts receivable reports for debt collection - you will also have access to bank balances). Accounts payable - you can only pay 200 bills in one ABA - which is not helpful for EOM payments as wehave to do EOM in 2 ABA batches. Cannot upload docs in payroll centre to emoloyee cards, such as doctors notes for sick leave.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
helping us printing less paper! - all of our accounts payableis now paperless. We are also reconciling daily which is handy for cashflow

What do you like best about the product?
Xero is great for small and larger business. It is VERY clean and easy to use and understand even if you are a beginner. I enjoy the fresh and simple layout also. Xero have great support websites and articles online, and you can submit your questions and receive help also. This system is used daily for us. There are a number of great features this software offers.
What do you dislike about the product?
It requires re-authentication and to re log in if you do not use it for over an hour. This can be annoying if you are working in other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Xero allows for easy accounting management. It clearly assists us in processing our receivables and payables, and provides a cash flow forecast also.

What do you like best about the product?
The customizations available in reporting allow a deeper analysis of financial information inside of the accounting system and one-click export to Google Sheets for data manipulation as required.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inventory and project management could be improved. They work but don't seem to be on the same level as the core bookkeeping and reporting features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speeding up the data entry and reconciliation processes while providing one-click analysis through their custom reporting.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, with all area. That it is cloud based and easily accessible from anywhere. The integration with hubdoc is fantastic. I have had no issues with getting support from Xero when needed and there are many facebook groups that help xero users. I use Xero on a daily basis 7 days a week and have done for the past 6years without any major issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new invoicing screen it slows my work down. I know I need to get used to it, but when you are busy its hard to do.

The other thing is in the contacts area and something I have asked for over several years, to enable users to clean up contacts we need to be able to report on any contacts that do not have anything attached to them like a bill/invoice/spend money/receive money -so that contacts can easily be cleaned up
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One thing I wish xero would do it implement changes that users want instead of redesigning screens that already work well, being able to give user access to specific areas ONLY therefore restricting access to certain confidential areas is really important is large practices. Your invoice template area is one area that users have asked to have more clearer way of being able to personalise especially using the docx templates. Bottom line is I dont see any problems that have been solved that benefit myself.

What do you like best about the product?
The Reporting functions are great and easy to dig deep into transactions that make up each figure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support is limited to using menus, tutorials and then a real person. Helps keep the cost down though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Users are tagged to transactions, so I can see who has done the work on the transaction. Multiple people can work on the same entity and share the workload.

sometimes when you put up a xero central case, you get a response from someone referring you to an article that doesn't address or answer the question. it would be better if they could just answer the question rather than diverting me elsewhere and not actually answer my question.

helps us with all of our practice bookkeeping and management of debtors
it enables us to make a budget forecast and see where our money is going
