Big upgrade
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, listening functionality is very useful, as well as ability to create approval workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The browser extension is not perfect, sometimes menus/setting areas do not expand as they should.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Boosted our collaboration across multiple university units, has helped to break down silos between departments and easily share content.
Great Agency Tool
What do you like best about the product?
This tool is great as it provides fast and easy layout that is pretty user friendly. When working with multiple accounts and clients its very helpful when needing to understand the overall scope in one quick and easy glance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customer support was a bit on the slow side, but might have been due to high demand. Often times this might be due to issues with the native platforms themselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We like to have the ability to share content calendars for our clients to approve within the tool as well as have our clients review content, make edits/updates and provide feedback. It’s much more helpful to have them make changes within the tool. Overall, we're able to work more efficiently from an agency perspective
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask as many questions before signing contract. Everything is negotiable.
Great platform with a few hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
Sprout is intuitive, so getting started is easy. There are quite a few powerful tools that help you dig a little deeper that are easy to understand with their included short training segments.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few hiccups that make sprout frustrating: not being able to post carousel posts through the app, videos can be a bit wonky and need to be monitored carefully to ensure correct posting, can't add donate buttons through the app, can't schedule reply tweets (ie. when posting a thread), can't use it for instagram stories, the photo editing capabilities aren't great (text is only huge, previous version of this functionality was much better), reporting stats seem a bit random and could have more customization options/be better explained.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to plan a social media content calendar and see how our cross channel story is being told. Able to get analytics quickly and easily (although not fully comprehensive).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout is a powerful tool! You get a lot more out of it when your regularly have training sessions with their employees to ensure you're using all the tools to the best of your ability.
Great for small/medium sized business
What do you like best about the product?
A great price point and user friendly interface allows for more streamlined and time savings in our social strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had some issues with reporting and missing data. There are also a lot of reporting metrics that seem to change unannounced.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management. In depth reporting. Social media scheduling. It's nice to have everything in one place rather than checking multiple platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for social media management and reporting. Love their newletters and white papers, too!
Great social media tracking service - with caveats
What do you like best about the product?
I love the reports and how my social media information is all displayed in one place. It helps me efficiently track conversations and publish content with confidence. I also love the way the feeds are displayed. It is really nice to have a single place to come to manage all social media.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there could be better algorithms to suggest feeds to follow and ways to stay engaged. Perhaps providing more training content and information about best practices. I think the scheduling function could be improved. It is not always clear if something is a "draft" and therefore not sheduled to be posted. We've missed a number of time-sensitive posts because we didn't realize that they were still in draft form. It seems like that aspect of the interface should be more clear/easy to navigate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has really helped us scale our social media strategy. We've identified new audiences and found the content that resonates the most by using the report features. It has helped us streamline our office scheduling and posting process. We used to have a much more cumbersome system for planning and implementing social campaigns but now we can do everything in one place. The saved time has been reinvested into actial campaign planning, so not only are we able to do things quicker, we've found additional time for the actual goals at hand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the tutorials in the beginning. Otherwise, you'll waste a lot of time trying to figure out basic things. Familiarize yourself with the dashboard and all of the monitoring features. Even though the platform is pretty simple it has a surprisingly challenging learning curve. Invest your time in learning the full layout in order to get the most out of it.
Good product for the price
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to pull a report across social media channels.
What do you dislike about the product?
My posts are often not delivered -- i.e. I schedule them but then when it comes time for them to post, there's some "unknown error" and it's not posted. It defeats the purpose of using the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling and reporting have been the two biggest things we needed and that Sprout is helping with.
Easy social media management.
What do you like best about the product?
Sprout is easy to use, but there are also avenues for a deeper experience if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
No strong dislikes, but I would appreciate an avenue to continuously post evergreen posts without having to recreate them. It would also be helpful if you could simultaneously edit one post for multiple social networks rather than having to duplicate a post and edit it specifically for each network.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving many social media problems such as when to post (solved by Sprout's SmartPost feature), finding content (Sprout offers a content feature), and posting across multiple platforms without having to do so individually within native sites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Despite the higher costs, Sprout is well worth it for organisations attempting to immerse themselves further into social media and get quality return for their time. I also recommend attending their monthly webinars to learn more about social media and how to better implement Sprout within the social media landscape. The customer service team is also fantastic, as they work tirelessly to solve any issue you may have.
Enjoy Sprout Social for our organization
What do you like best about the product?
Love being able to post over multiple platforms with the click of a button, and also enjoy looking at all of the analytics and reporting data that is compiled by sprout.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could somehow tag accounts over multiple platforms. Also, publishing galleries on Instagram would be more convenient if we could set to auto-publish instead of having to publish yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Scheduling over all platforms has allowed us to "set and forget" many things when we have a lull and have time to schedule everything in advance. Also, being able to publish over all platforms is a great timesaver.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout is a great way to publish over multiple networks and schedule posts beforehand. It also is a great way to report and analyze our accounts.
A great tool for scheduling social posts months in advance
What do you like best about the product?
I've been working with Sprout for a little over 8 months and I love that they are constantly updating and improving the platform. In the time I've started using it they've added more support for Instagram, added support for showing scheduled drafts in the calendar view, and much more. They're constantly listening to their customers and prospects and that shows in their product.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. More often than not if I spend a little too much time on scheduling out posts in the future or I have to step away for a meeting and come back to Sprout, it times out but doesn't let me know—so I'll schedule a post for multiple days, attempt to schedule, and it'll wipe my progress and I need to start over.
2. The search feature could use a loving revisit. Sometimes I'm interested in how we promoted something the year before, or even last month, and I have to click through the week-to-week view instead of being able to search for keywords in those social posts. It makes it really hard to look at past posts.
3. We get a lot of people using advanced retweet for our posts and hashtags we follow—and in Smart Inbox, only the retweet message comes through, not the original tweet they're referencing, and that adds a lot of extra clicking. I wish the entire retweet could show in the inbox feed.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has been so useful to be able to follow certain hashtags and use the listening feature to see what people are really posting about outside of the sphere of our company. Information like that helps inform our content strategy, and being able to provide support on social media all in one place has been a huge help as well. We can schedule out social posts days to months in advance, which really helps during
Best Time Saving Tool for Social Media!
What do you like best about the product?
Sprout Social has been the best tool to manage all the Instagram accounts that I am in charge of. Our company handles at least 5 different venues social media accounts so being able to have everything scheduled out ahead saves me so much time (and my sanity!).
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I don't like about Sprout so far is that if I want to post more than one photo to Instagram that I need to have someone approve it. It's not too bad though since I have the app on my phone it will just send me a notification that it's time to post and then the photo with the caption will be copied over to Instagram.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I have been able to solve with Sprout Social have been time management with social media scheduling and research on when the best time to post on social media. The benefits are that I spend less time on managing our social media pages and can use that time in other projects to benefit the company in other ways (such as editing videos/ working on marketing campaigns).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sprout Social has saved me so much time when it comes to scheduling out our social media! If you manage more than one social media account I would highly suggest looking into using Sprout Social. It's easy to use and extremely helpful in managing different social media accounts. This will definitely save you your time and sanity!
