Great Potential, but needs usability and feature enhancements

  • December 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Iterable is relatively easy to use once you become familiar with it. The platform provides robust features for email and marketing automation, and once you navigate the learning curve, workflows can be implemented effectively. Additionally, the support team is readily available most of the time, making it convenient to reach out for assistance when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
• User Experience Challenges: The platform’s interface is not very intuitive for first-time users, and the initial learning curve can feel steep.
• Search Functionality: The search feature rarely works effectively, often failing to retrieve results, which hampers productivity when trying to locate templates.
• Ingestion and Performance Issues: Data ingestion is prone to lag, and overall platform responsiveness could be improved.
• Feature Limitations: There is a lack of built-in functionality for some relatively simple but crucial features, such as countdown timers for emails, which require third-party integrations.
• Script Limitations: While security is a valid concern, the inability to use base scripts or create new Handlebars helpers limits flexibility for advanced users.
• Support Delays: Although the support team is accessible, explaining issues often takes considerable time, and the resolution process can span several days in some cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable is helping us automate the entire user journey from signup to late stages in the lifecycle, creating customer loyalty and retention.

A powerful all-in-one solution

What do you like best about the product?
A major advantage of Iterable for us is being able to integrate all communication channels through one platform with simple interface anyone on the team can easily get started with. Setting up email campaigns does not require a lot of dev effort and technical skills while offering a lot of flexibility in terms of segmentation, advanced sending logic, and A/B testing.

In a year, the platform has rolled out some cool usability improvements, like Creative Library and UX enhancements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features still need work, like Brand Affinity, which now only considers user's email activity and not real loyalty towards the brand. Another downside is support - while the Support Team always responds promptly to ongoing questions, some larger-scale requests, like project migrations, could take a long time to complete.

It would be great if Iterable-side bugs and tech issues were communicated officially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable helps us automate email marketing activities, which ensures we cover 100% of user's journey within our product and also convert non-paying customers into our active users through promotional campaigns. Iterable's A/B testing capabilities allow us to maintain high testing pace, easily iterate on successful variants, and test lots of variables, from subjects & design elements to send times. It's also easy to onboard new team members into our retention channels thanks to intuitive interface (which has improved quite a lot over the past year) and extensive docs

Great product for user communications

  • December 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use Iterable. As a non-technical team member, I can drag and drop to create templates and campaigns.

I also love the flexibility that comes with their journey product. They are always adding to it and improving the features.

The team is also great at helping think through solutions and problem solve.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve with some of the more advanced features, but their education hub is helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable allows us to keep all user communications in one place, whether that's marketing or transaction, email or SMS. It's a seamless experience and allows us to be very granular when we experiment and personalize.

I love that we can trigger communications based on an event and also tailor based on individual customer behaviors and preferences.

Experience Using Iterable

  • December 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Iterable is an amazing CRM system, particularly for those who value robust automation features.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where there’s room for improvement is the ability to export HTML templates, would reallylike this. Currently, exporting templates often results in missing content or incomplete coding, which can be frustrating when porting templates to other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable is solving the challenge of creating personalized, multi-channel customer experiences at a large scale which is good because I work for a huge automotive company. By enabling advanced automation, it simplifies the process of managing email, SMS, and webhook communications, ensuring that messages are timely, relevant, and consistency.

Great platform, but requires a lot of time and effort

  • December 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Overall I find the platform pretty easy to use. I am most indulged into the automation of processes, such as through Journeys. Our experience with your customer support is mostly great as well, the team is very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the analytics could be a bit more granular. I think the platform is very well suited for bigger teams, while it makes it difficult to justify the high cost of Iterable subscription for a small indie team like ourselves, where it is mostly just 1 person operating it on part-time, with many other assignements along with the CRM tool. A smaller package for such a team would make a lot of sense for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest addition is email marketing. Along with that we use it for Push notifications, although we still send a lot of those hard-coded as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
Could improve its analytics features for the campaigns
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable makes it easy to create a perfect experience for our users. Also, it keeps improving everytime which means - I'm becoming more productive in each iteration.

Best ESP Hands Down

  • December 11, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My company uses Iterable every day to send out more than 300 million emails a year, and the UI is very intuitive and has an easy learning curve. I've used several other ESPs (Salesforce, GetResponse, AWebber to name a few), and by far Iterable is the best. Customer support is very responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wasn't at my company during implementation/integration, so I can't speak to that. My biggest dislike is that we're only able to use a subset of Handlebars.js and it's not customizable, so we're limited in some of the personalization and other things we'd like to do. However, Iterable Support is looking into a possible solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabling us to send over 300 million emails a year in a seamless fashion without getting mired in the technical aspects of mail servers.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to input as many data points as needed and highly customize communications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some fields of the platform are quite inflexible, although the product roadmap takes users' wishes into account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Omni-channel strategy of customer engagement, based on real-time data.

Good, not great, but good

  • December 10, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Iterable can do a lot. Journeys are wonderful and flexible, and the direct integration with push/email/etc. is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite the amount of things you can do, there are often times where Iterable feels limited (e.g., it can do email, but its email features are limited and often frustrating if you're used to more powerful platforms).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Iterable makes it easy to have much of our customer comminication in one place — push, email, etc.

Does a job we need it to, wish we had more time to get to grips with it

What do you like best about the product?
Firstly their customer team are great. Really pleased with the level of care we get since we're not a massive customer and they're very responsive (shout out Claire). Same goes for thier support, often have to get them to do some odd requests for our quirks but they're normally very good and really fast.

As a service it does what we need it to and often without fail. Fairly easy to use, you don't have to be an developer to get something out of it. We use it for all of our event based notifications including push and email, across multuple languages as well, and that's okay to set up.

The most useful part is being able to deep dive in to the event history of any user and see exactly what they were sent. Has helped us diagnose countless bugs over time!
What do you dislike about the product?
I just wish we had more time to get to grips with it. If you know how to use it you'll get a really good product out of it, without that time we've just always scraped the surface.

The language used to desrcibe the different features isn't always the clearest and it's not always obvious what is the right way to set something up until you've done it a few times to see what works.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us manage our event based email and push notifications to all of our users
