Jamf Connect is amazing!
What do you like best about the product?
The headache it relieved from having to constantly spend time on macs when network and local passwords became unsynces
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! It has been an amazing product that we have filled out to our entire fleet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It resolved issues with password synca
Jamf Connect - Neat, but outside our budget
What do you like best about the product?
We evaluated Jamf Connect and found the domain login features to be helpful and convenient. Just in time account provisioning is such a great convenience and would allow us some better flexibility for loaner and shared workstations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to login twice when FileVault is enabled is frustrating. Our biggest roadblock, however, was the cost. With Jamf Pro costs already having increased pretty significantly over the past few years, adding in the cost of Jamf Connect just wasn't feasible, as interested as we were in the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We only evaluated Jamf connect and were not able to bite the bullet on purchasing it due to its price. Jamf Connect would have solved the issue of requiring an existing account to create new users and having to use a third party app to keep network and local account passwords in sync.
Way better alternative to AD bound macs, but still has its own quirks
What do you like best about the product?
The product is a lot more reliable than when we had our shared macbooks bound to active directory.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product still has its own issues at times. A lot of the issues stem from Apple updates and waiting for the product to get its own update from Jamf.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a way for multiple people to log into the same machines for labs and checkout computers. We previously had them bound to Active Directly but were constantly running into issues with that and having to unbind and bind machines all of the time. This product allows our staff to log in with their Google account into the machines.
Jamf Connect: Perfect for lab environments
What do you like best about the product?
Each student can sit down at any computer running Jamf Connect and log on with their Entra ID credentials. It will create a local account for the student if one doesn't yet exist, and then sync their Entra ID password with the local account. The just-in-time account creation makes this product perfect in lab enviornments where you do not know ahead of time who will need to log onto the computer.
Another awesome feature is the ability to customize the login window completely. You can create a polished, professional, branded login window that really looks good. It's awesome to have the school's name and logo right there where everyone logs on.
Jamf provides a great utility to help you implement the product. It's very easy, especially if you also use Jamf Pro! If you don't have Entra ID, it can integrate with other identity providers such as Okta or Google.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike I have with it (and this is not Jamf's fault, it's an Apple limitation) is if you have enabled FileVault, there will be two logins when you turn the computer on. You will first need to unlock the hard drive with the FileVault password, then enter your Entra ID credentials. It is for this reason that I mostly use it for lab environments or other shared desktops.
The double login only occurs after a restart, so it's not really that much of an inconvenience to be honest.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives you the ability to seamlessly log onto the local computer with Entra ID or other IdP credentials.
I help organizations implement Jamf Connect
What do you like best about the product?
When it comes to enabling users, eliminating one extra password is always a good start. The provisioning process with an identity provider and ongoing password synchronization, mixed with many other useful functions, makes jamf connect in an easy recommendation.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be challenging to unpack which features are supported by which identity providers, and how that impacts or organization decision-making, especially if there's overlap, for example, between Okta and Entra
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well, we do not use it at our company, it solves plenty for the organizations we support! Some of the biggest benefits are in the security side, enabling a trusted user on a trusted device!
Easiest Way to Sync IdP and Mac Credentials
What do you like best about the product?
Although not the native MacOS login interface, the Jamf Connect interface is polished and smooth. By far the best way to sync our EntraID credentials and our local MacOS user accounts. Being the small Mac fish in a big Windows pond, it's very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only improvement is I'd like it to use the native MacOS login window, but that's partially covered by PlatformSSO.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to integrate our Macs into a Windows/Microsoft Heavy environment.
Jamf Connect - A Good Solution for on-demand local account creation on macOS
What do you like best about the product?
Configuration and implementation was a breeze. It allows for authentication using multiple methods. We use Google. When I had a licensing issue, customer support was great and fast!
What do you dislike about the product?
Renewing the license for Jamf Connect wasn't seamless. There were issues and we had to contact support in order to resolve them. Don't wait to update your license, as you may have to wait on support to fix an issue on your account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have some mobile lab MacBooks. Binding them to our Active Directory was a pain, and mobile accounts were not great options. Jamf Connect allows our users to sign in and create local macOS accounts with their Google credentials.
Connecting users in the Modern age!
What do you like best about the product?
In our institution, we have recently transitioned over to Jamf Connect as our way of logging in our users from our directory/databse. through this new integrations, we have moved away from binding our endpoints to a domain and use cloud-based directories to locate and apply users/policies. With the need of only an internet connection, users have a much easier login experience than before!
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently Jamf connect can only identify users email address as their account name. This causes MacOS to name their home folder the email adress alias. We have priniting process we have in place it uses and different username/alias to charge their account print credit. Since Jamf connect applies email address to name the home folder automatically, the printing process tries to charge the email and not the users appropriate username.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently this product is helping our users log in to their device seamlessly and update their passwords yearly automatially with they expire. It has also helped us move away from binding to Local Active Directory and use cloud-based authentication.
Great product that helps our org in every way.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, ease of implementation, cx support
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, i have yet to run into any issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Entra ID authentication and syncing.
