A best in class tool for managing secrets and access.

  • July 26, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Some of my favorite features include:

- Akeyless vault is SOC2 and FIPS certified. In my current industry this is a must and it means that a lot of the competition is a non-starter for us.

-The ability to grant granular access permissions to specific users, groups, or roles, making it easy to control who has access to which secrets.

-The ability to audit all activity, and I mean all activity, from logins to access history and providing a detailed history of all changes made to secrets.

-The ease of use and intuitive interface, making it easy for both experienced users and newcomers to get up and running quickly. This made onboarding our organization rather seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn’t much to dislike. The features advertised are the features that are provided and work well in the product. I can’t comment on the support as I haven’t experienced it. I can agree with the reviews that mention documentation needing improvement as it could be considered “light”. This was known to us when making the purchasing decision.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall we have had a good experience with Akeyless as it has helped us streamline our operations which makes room in our budget. This is because it is easy to use and it integrates well with our existing DevOps workflow. It also has a robust security architecture, so we're able to assure clients that their data is secure.

Akeyless Vault is a reliable secrets management storage solution.

  • July 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Some of my favorite features of Vault include:

1. The ability to store secrets in a variety of formats. This makes it easy to store and access secrets regardless of the programming language or platform you are using. I have the most experience using Akeyless with Kubernetes environments.

2. The ability to access secrets through a variety of mechanisms, including a web-based interface, command line interface, and even a REST API. This makes it easy to access your secrets from anywhere in your organization.

3. The ability to audit all activity in Akeyless, including who accessed which secrets and when. This helps you to keep track of who is accessing your secrets and helps you to ensure that your secrets are safe and secure. If investigations are needed - audit logs make it easy.

4. The ability to set up role-based access controls, which allow you to control which users have access to which secrets. This helps you to ensure that only the right people have access to your secrets.

Overall, I believe that Akeyless is an excellent solution for managing secrets and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a secure and reliable way to store their secrets.
What do you dislike about the product?
The expiration time of SSH keys in Akeyless Vault is less than ideal because it can cause issues when sharing keys with teammates. I think an option to extend the expiration timing would be a fantastic addition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vault is a very versatile SaaS solution that can be used in a variety of settings. We use it for our engineering team and we have seen tangible improvements in their workflow efficiency. It has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to get started, and a very simple onboarding process. Vault is also highly scalable, making it a good choice for organizations of any size and seat count.

AKeyless deployment experience

  • May 31, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
AKeyless has a lot of integrations out of the box with all the CI/CD tools (github, gitlab, jenkins, etc). AWS and terraform integrations are solid as well. Other useful platform features include some Privileged access management and some PKI as well. It can handle most industry common scenarios well and the local gateway with SAAS console hybrid solution gives you good flexibility and redundancy. Log forwarding to security analytics platform is useful for secret auditing. Product is constantly growing and adding more things
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation could be better. Some of the documentation is vague in areas so you either have to figure it out or speak with support. Some features are missing, but like I mentioned above the product is constantly growing. Gateway management/updates is either scripted or manual.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The platform solves the secret zero problem in a creative way. Integration with CI/CD and AWS secret managment is solid. We're also going to use the platform for SSH PAM, file encryption processes and dynamic secrets for databases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
AKeyless is a solid contender if you're looking for PAM and secrets vault in one platform. Expect a decent sized learning curve, but after that the product is fairly easy to use and manage.

Nice tool to secure ssh logins

  • May 26, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This changes SSH from key/password management to time-based certificate management based on Active Directory accounts. Very useful for central management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup is a little rough when we installed it. There are some limitations on ssh automation with this solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can control logins from Active Directory which fits much better with onboarding or people leaving the company. Time-based certificates mean we can balance the effort to login against logged in accounts not expiring. Our biggest win is that security tends to flow through Active Directory so tying in Linux servers is nice and pretty transparent with akeyless.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a good product for someone looking to replace ssh key management for Linux/Unix servers.

Akeyless Review

  • May 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use. Very easy setup. Good customer support
What do you dislike about the product?
AWS SES keys rotation not supported.
Key rotation should be in 3 phase. Create new key (90days), Inactivate old key (95days), Delete old key (100days). this is helpful for consumer to have some time to update keys before actually breaking by creating new key and deleing old one at same time.
Documentation should include contianer setup like ECS, fargate etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto key rotation. still in test phase
Recommendations to others considering the product:
yes

What do you like best about the product?
Akeyless has easy to deploy on-prem component and covers most of the industry standard use-cases. Major feature is their Hybrid cloud deployment model.Product documentation is customer centric specially API testing portal.
What do you dislike about the product?
More sophistacated solution for secret zero problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have scattered secret management solutions across our enterprise and it is difficult to manage each solution separately. Akeyless is one stop solution for our usecases and has Onprem+polycloud deployment model which gives us high availability and resiliency.

Akeyless POC review - CVS Health

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely supportive and very engaging team. Taking a detailed approach towards understanding the most important need of the customer
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that we as an organization dislike with Akeyless. There are always one or two gaps in the platform with any product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are only doing a Proof Of Concept now but this is to select an enterprise secret management platform
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Since we have not adopted it yet, it is very hard to answer this. But so far the support that we have received from Akeyless team members is truly remarkable.

What do you like best about the product?
Being new to Secrets Management. Akeyless support was able to help mw get up and running in no time. Using the CLI SDK I was able to quickly migrate all of our existing secrets into Akeyless.
What do you dislike about the product?
Syslog parsing could use a little work. Some of the key value pairs don't always parse cleanly.
