What do you like best about the product?
The fact that for every kind of secret, they have a solution - whether it's a secret in code, in a script file, in Chef, and even shared secrets for a team.
There are many different effortless and straightforward integrations.
The DFC patent keeps the encryption key genuinely safe.
The zero-trust technology finally deals with the problem of storing a master password somewhere.
And of course, Akeyless gathered a team of stars with the most professional and friendly people!
What do you dislike about the product?
The vault feature for sharing secrets in a team could be a little more user friendly and with dedicated small features to increase the user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is securely storing secrets instead of keeping them in cleartext.
It is securely protecting the encryption key.
It is solving the problem of storing a master password somewhere.

A simple, yet powerful secret management alternative.

What do you like best about the product?
Their support is hands down the best we have had in the secret management world. They not only care about making a good secret management solution, they make sure you as a customer have everything you need to succeed, and if it doesn't exist, they tend to be happy to implement it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their documentation needs to be updated more often and their speed sometimes hinders stability, sometimes this is a double-edge sword. But They also correct their mistakes incredibly quickly and with an excellent customer support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing secrets for machine consumption. It allows to easily connect from multiple services into akeyless without needing a secret zero, which is extremely helpful. Rotating master keys is no longer a concern with this. It also lets you fine tune which service reads which secret.

Everything you need for access management without the hassles of vault management

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Akeyless is, by far, the easiest-to-use Secrets Management system out there. We've used all the major vendors available, and Akeyless is the only one we've used that can actually increase productivity by simplifying access management. It also has some unique solutions to the secret-zero problem, which have substantially improved the security posture for key teams in our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation could use a bit more attention, although they make up for it with excellent support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Akeyless to bring just-in-time (JIT) access everywhere. Akeyless has a variety of dynamic producers available out-of-the-box as well as support for us defining our own custom dynamic producers very easily. Together, this makes it possible for us to bring short-lived credentials to our most critical services, whch means that the risk of stolen access credentials is basically zero everywhere we use it. A large chunk of our Akeyless usage is also managed via Infrastructure-as-code, which means that spinning up new services that are backed by Akeyless takes almost no effort. As a result, we end up with the ability to build more secure services, and do it faster.

Akeyless is a great way to control access to sensitive properties

  • February 24, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At my organization Akeyless is used to securely manage API keys. I like the ease of use, and how little time it takes to onboard new users. Additionally, I'm a fan of the encryption methods used. I've heard a few testimonies on how secure they are.

A further benefit to using Akeyless is that we can control access to certain objects based on a user account. We're able to designate certain properties (keys) to different users, and set expiry dates. This makes giving secure access to properties a breeze, and is similar to LastPass's sharing feature, which I couldn't find anywhere else. It's perfect for giving access to outside parties for example, where they need access for a period of time without exposing the actual secret.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't been able to set our account up with our custom brand elements. I don't know if this is a feature that is offered, but it would be nice to whitelabel, so we could present it a bit differently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We allow team members and third parties secure access to our organization's API keys and secrets. This is controlled access, and helps us cut down on any security issues. Access is logged in the backend , which makes for easy auditing. IP, user, time and property are logged.

A great way to control access

  • January 26, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Akeyless Vault offers an excellent way to securely store DevOps credentials and control access to resources and other sensitive areas. We use Akeyless Vault in conjunction with Ansible, as Ansible's default means of secret storage is not ideal for our organization. While Ansible is our main integration, we also use a number of other DevOps platforms, which Akeyless Vault also integrates with. Integration is seamless and easy to use. As it's a SaaS cloud platform, the UX is very familiar and convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the client transaction limit on the bronze plan could be increased. We will soon need to upgrade as we bring more team members onboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Akeyless Vault to store any sensitive material in our workflow. This includes passwords, API keys, secrets, and other access methods. Using a secrets management platform is now an industry best practice. Akeyless Vault has become a daily part of our development process.

Good secrets management, better support.

What do you like best about the product?
The support that this vendor offers is really fantastic. I had an issue with my account, and they fixed it within a 15 minute email in my wacky timezone. Additionally, I was having trouble with my Kubernetes installation and they went above and beyond with troubleshooting. It turns out that the error was not related to their product, but my installation, yet they fixed it at no charge. The secret management offerings is good too, but their support is really the fantastic part.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't used any of their competitors so I can't comment on any big dislikes - nothing glares out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing secrets, keys, passwords, authentication tokens for various webapps that we operate. Allowing employees secure access without sharing sensitive information.

Safe, comprehensive secrets management

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The standard integrated secret management in kubernetes is frankly, not secure. This is where AKeyless comes into play. We store all of our kubernetes secrets in our vault. You can store secrets for basically any DevOp workflow, although I've only used this for Kubernetes secrets.

I'd especially like to note that the secrets stored in your vault can be injected through a sidecar into K8s pods, which is very helpful for applications that are contained. This works for both static and dynamic secrets.

The level of management is appreciated. Secrets can be tied to specific IP address authorizations. An expiry date can be set, and I'm assured that the level of encryption for the secret "Akeyless DFC™ Technology" is up to standard. (if you're interested, the tech behind it is pretty neat).
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found the "account management" section in the front end user interface yet. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough but I can't find out how to change my password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Akeyless to securely store secret keys for my kubernetes apps. Most devs overlook this, but it's a pretty critical piece of your infrastructure, as you can't always rely on the internal secret storage.

The only key management solution that I can recommend.

What do you like best about the product?
Their pricing system is great. While I'm now on the business plan, I was initially on the free "starter" plan which was a great way of making sure that AKeyLess met my needs. In short, it does. If you're in the DevOps space, you'll have come across the problem of managing your secret keys many times. Secret migration is offered works with Kubernetes, Ansible and Jenkins (I've used ones, there are more). Additionally, AKeyLess complies with the CLOUD act, which our compliance and legal department insisted on. Suprisngly, a number of their competitors do not, which is an issue for us. Futhermore, I've made great use of their "audit logs" feature which allows me to check access records of each vault.
What do you dislike about the product?
If there was a way to change the color scheme of the frontend UX, I'd be appreciative. Blue and white is a little played out IMO. It's a very minor thing though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a big user of Kubernetes, and their integrated Kubernetes Secrets function does not encrypt the secrets, it just encodes them in base64. For obvious reasons, this isn't ideal, and doesn't go far enough to limit access. This could lead to a catastrophe and major losses. I've been using AKeyLess to manage my Kubernetes secrets, and it's been going great, vault-as-a-service is definitely something that's new to me, but it solves a real problem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Free trial, worth giving it a try.
