Great for API test automation
What do you like best about the product?
API test automation was pretty simple and amazingly quick.
What do you dislike about the product?
IOS automation was not straight forward. We faced issues with the versions, etc. We had to use a very specific version of Katalon and IOS to make it work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to automate test of both API and APP interface and this software helped us to make it fast.

Need to add a lot of wait time and scripts keep failing gif page load time is slow.

Powerful automation testing solution to get fulfill your requirement
What do you like best about the product?
The newest function of Katalon is to autocorrect my fail syntax that reduces my time, and releases our team productivity. Katalon is not just Katalon Studio, but it a complete automation testing toolset that is tied up together, including Katalon TestOps and Katalon Recorder. Katalon TestOps helps qa engineer to visualize their test results and test reports in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, there are some bugs and sudden crashes down on Katalon TestOps but thank the dedicated supporting team of Katalon, the problems were fixed already.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a beginner, I have been struggling with xpath syntax. I made a lot of mistakes with this and it stresses me out when just keep running the script to know if my xpath is correct or not. Katalon Studio helps me a lot with the autocorrect function, it really save my time and also the integration to Katalon TestOps - with cool reporting UI and easy to read report.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Katalon Studio is a great tool for someone who are both new to automation testing and requires a high level of technical modification. Katalon Studio is day by day upgrade their solution. You are not gonna regret it when choosing Katalon Studio as a part of your automation testing process.

The Record and play mode also the manual mode is the best

There are not many guides for help in case you get an error or issues using the tool

I'm using this for web testing. It's pretty good that anybody can use even if they don't have any coding knowledge.
Best QA Automation tool with human readable, easy to use UI!
What do you like best about the product?
Human understandable UX design, user-friendly to record, edit, organise and analyse test cases. Supports web, computer and mobile applications. Can be integrated with many 3rd party systems like Jira, TestRail etc. Review of test runs in Katalon Analytics with user friendly controls, teams organisation, relies to test runs etc. Has good coverage of "how to" in help section. Help is also provided by the active community.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are lots of functions that need some more info how to use e.g. loading pictures from PC in a test case. Help often refers to old versions. Some features which were free a year ago became paid, IMHO this is not OK, they should add new features for the paid version and not make some of the previously free features paid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease to record, edit organise execute and review analytics of test cases. I use it to write test cases for web sites. Great feature is the test case recorder. Has also chrome extensions which can also be used to record test cases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've seen no better tools. Complex, good UX, can be used for many purposes. Nice tree structure is used for organise test cases, test suites and repository. Supports headless browser tests, and supports test runs on most browsers (IE, Edge, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome). Katalon Analytics is very good, user friendly
Powerful tool for automation and testing
What do you like best about the product?
Katalon Studio presents a powerful platform to setup automation and/or testing environments. It's ability to capture Web functionality and inputs as well as setting up test case suites that can run on an automated basis, makes it a clear winner for IT departments looking to automate and move to a better testing environment. In addition, the reporting allows you to focus and hone in on any trouble spots and get specific information of what went wrong and where. The ability to group test cases into suites and projects as well as have repositories of web parts to reference across all code scripts is beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
In previous versions of Katalon it allowed for stand alone automation of tests using a batch file without additional costs. Now however, it requires purchase of an engine if you want to run these in the background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We currently setup katalon (earlier version) to automate verifying single sign on sites we host. The process runs on a scheduled basis, calls Katalon Studio test suites and runs through pulling up each site and logging in and verifying it reaches an acceptable point. We also use in running automated tests on our various APIs to ensure code integrity when changes are made.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Download the trial version and actually dive in and setup some testing suites. Get familiar with the scripting language and all the powerful features available.
Katalon is Versatile and Beautiful
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Katalon is a singular tool that I can use for both frontend and API testing. I am able to automate API tests and validate them using test cases. I can also create test suites that I can run whenever I need to test multiple different functions of an application. I also like that I can program tests to perform differently depending on circumstances.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that learning how to code using Katalon is not very intuitive. I also dislike the speed in which front-end UI tests run. The support for using Katalon studio feels outdated or nonexistent at times. I have trouble finding information on how to program different things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to automate API tests which make it much faster for me to test the core functionality of the projects I am working on. I am also able to build and run front end tests by simply recording my actions on the screen.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think that Katalon is best used for their easy to create front end tests. I think it would be ideal for large test scenarios involving multiple complex steps. Integration testing is it's speciality. I do not think Katalon is really cut out for extremely fast front end tests though. I also think that utilizing Katalon for it's automated API testing is a great idea because of the flexibility it provides with global variables as well as test-specific variables. If you really want your tests to be dynamic depending on certain aspects of the user's experience, you could even incorporate conditional statements.
Open source tool to automate various application with less complexity.
What do you like best about the product?
I am very much satisfied with katalon studio. Its a very user-friendly automation testing tool. Since it can be used to automate, web applications, mobile applications as well as web services, It helped me a lot to gain wider exposure in different fields. It supports Java and Groovy language, and since java is very user friendly and world wide used accepted language, so it gains wider exposure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Capturing XPATH could be better for dynamic objects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's record and play back capability also helps a lot in my office work. Its functionality of providing in-built templates for maintaining the object repository, test cases and custom keywords also helped me a lot.
Good tool for non technical testers who wants to start Automation
What do you like best about the product?
Once you are done with the basic setup you can start adding your tests because 50% of the setup is already done by the Client we download.
What do you dislike about the product?
It doesn't support AWS device farm so we can not run automation on that.
Community website doesn't have more people to each other and because of that we have to rely on stackoverflow for resolution of issues.

Mobile App automation for Android and iOS platform.

IF you are not good at coding or dont want to get stuck in setup part then Katalon studio is for you.

We use old VA software but we are still able to run automated scripts with Katalon.
