Solarwinds Monitoring server
What do you like best about the product?
Great product that makes it relatively easy to setup and monitor servers out of the box.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's sometimes complex to add monitoring of custom settings or services
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem being solved is that we need to monitor mission critical services and applications in order to ensure up time and consistent service to our users and customers
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ensure you have a qualified admin. there's a lot of customization that can be done but you need experience in order to take advantage of all the features.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to monitor multiple applications at an instance and display them on the easy GUI solar winds provides.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of anything at this moment, does the job
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to have fewer staff present to alert local teams of outages through SolarWinds.

What do you like best about the product?
The GUI, using which we can see the real time and custom interval resource monitoring

We had licensing and upgrade issues with solarwinds platform, where in we had to upgrade the OS and SQL servers.

Robust product for any type of network monitoring. Easily configurable and any Solaris, Linux hosts can be added for monitoring

Automation is difficult. User entries from the tool cannot be translated to commands on servers. More work in artificial intelligence side expected

Real time alerts and server issues are identified so that proactive actions can be taken before server have issues

What do you like best about the product?
Essentially a complete list of items which can be monitored on many servers, really allows for a "if I haven't seen a message, must be ok" stance.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit "chatty" at times, takes a bit of fine tuning to get it to a point of informative while avoiding the Boy who Cried Wolf syndrome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Downtime is anticipated and avoided as much as possible. Proactive maintenance is possible.

This is a software what i was looking for. This gives over view of network and servers. Integration is wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still more deeper level of data is expected. Like iops of vsan etc

Over all performance, notification of downtime. Predective analysis.
A very complete virtualization environment
What do you like best about the product?
It has a pretty intuitive control panel. If you review your options, you realize that you can easily monitor and customize the virtual machine and its status. In this way it becomes easier to control and review any changes that occur in them.
It has a very complete interface in the system of warnings and alerts, as it informs you of the attached media, storage, disk utilization, all in a very clear way visually.
That all the virtual machines can be observed in a centralized view, is also something positive and that helps to have a better structured work.

What do you dislike about the product?
It requires a configuration time. You need to control and know how to properly manage the configuration options to find the configuration optimized for virtualization, to be able to take advantage of everything. That is why it is good to have knowledge in this area, since it is something difficult to structure properly at the beginning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The time for the creation and administration of virtual machines has been reduced, it takes less time to put them active.
We can solve any customer problem much faster and we are also informed of any failure of the virtual machine through its warning system, so it takes much less time to address questions or failures related to virtual machines.
Any problem of performance or failure, through the monitoring system we have it controlled, we have a broad vision of the whole system and this facilitates our work.

SolarWinds Virtualization Manager helps to monitor and structure the creation and administration of virtual machines. I consider it a good tool to work more effectively with these environments.
Solar winds is great!
What do you like best about the product?
Network monitoring tools are really useful when setup is properly planned. We were blindly into solar winds and hoping our vendor would help us out which they did. It’s a very useful and robust product and gives you fault tolerance, packet inspection, hardware stats, performance date for alll of your nodes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don’t dislike anything about this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Obviously we’re able to monitor our network much more effentiently than before which is a life saver.
Solar Winds WPM for an e-commerce website
What do you like best about the product?
We are long time users of other solarwinds products and this one did not dissapoint. It is an excellent tool to monitor traffic on your website, it monitors transactions and you can group the by location, it also has all the standard monitoring features like response time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it a little bit hard to configure, there is not much online documentation for this toold.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring a mission critical website, the main online revenue channel for this company.

You should try to get all the knowledge first to configure this tool to maximize it's benefits.
Monitoring network servers within different sites.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how solarwinds can give specific times for network performance issues. Providing node details to help troubleshoot which specific node is related to the server at a specific site.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not come across anything specific to not like, as solarwinds seems to be the best tool out for network monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows our Noc team to isolate and contact the site administrator and or vendor to assist with a node issue. The benefits are a timely response and real time monitoring service.
