What do you like best about the product?
The best part of NPM or soalrwind is its simple monitoring configuration for simple administration.
Its a enterprise level monitoring system which also have integration with other modules.
It provide a complete information for monitoring & very easy to implement. its start monitoring from the moment it has implement with all default configuration.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some time End Users or non admin user comes to me & say some time its difficult to get report or information in soalrwind. from End User perspective I can use stand the pain as in other tools its just a one or two click away. but in soalrwind , I know its a enterprise & powerful tool you need to dril down some time to get simple information.

other part which require is topology , so end user can visualize the monitoring system & understand in one shot what is wrong & where is wrong.

I think dashboard re place where if we have automated topology kind of dashboard or single pan of dashboard then its look great.

Newly added net path service is great but some time I get requirement to have point to point path, I mean from one IP to another IP.

on network overview it has only monitored interfaces, but if it has all interfaces then it will be easy to choose what to monitor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are monitoring all n/w devices & its helping us to do proactive monitoring or to detect the issue much faster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are finding enterprise level monitoring then soalrwinds is correct one.

NPM can be a little hard to manage on older versions of Windows, but is easily fixed in most situations. Upgrades were difficult in the past, but solarwinds has put much work into making this easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Out of the box reporting is very helpful to add visibility to our organization management and end users. Easy integration with servicenow allows us to alert out quickly and effectively around the clock, 365 days a year.

Excellent UI and well rounded product for NMS

What do you like best about the product?
The GUI metrics presented are relevant and capture the high-level views nicely. The ability to drill into just about anything is very nice. The AppStack and PerfStack are my favorite resources. With additional modules like SRM, SAM, and VMan - it's great to be able to see the details from end to end.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be easy to get a little lost drilling around between linked resources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility into our applications and how they impact things like storage and network.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's expensive - but worth it.

NPM- Total Network Management and Performance Package

  • May 31, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Free fully functional Demo. The ease of setup and scalability should you need to grow/shrink your installation. You can connect multiple data collectors, networks and architectures and have a NOC dashboard as well as a granular view of each switch if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not inexpensive, and requires a bit on investment to user properly. Be ready for this, and you will love the features. Additional servers are not cheap, so choose your deployment wisely and cover whats needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General network overview to see how all spokes are operating and track down latency/service issues. There is the ability to fix deep networking issues with VoIP and packet loss due to distance and EMI. Customer 'ghosts' that otherwise would be very hard to track down otherwise. Allows us to prove certain services are causing issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the demo first and fully setup and test the software. You will find its well worth the price.
