What do you like best about the product?
I like how it allows us to easily connect to our clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing so far. It has worked great since we've used the product years ago.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are cutting costs on on-site visits and being able to work remotely.

What do you like best about the product?
Good product we use every day. I like customized reports I can create. The software does exactly what it's supposed to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every little thing you monitor requires a license. I think, it should be per server/application instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The software sends alerts in case there is a problem with a server or application.

Good product. Keep it up.

I do wish the travel period was a little longer. But that's personal. Or a feature to pay annually not monthly.

Transaction Monitoring. Is a real lifesaver. Server testing and being able to see availability of our website.

Real-time overview of the performance in an easy to understand dashboard

There's no free basic version. There is a trial version for 14 days, but a free, basic version would be welcome for smaller companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A client mentioned that he "felt" his website was slow. After implementing Pingdom, we could see that usually it wasn't slow, but sometimes it was.
After investigating the the slower loading times we were able to tackle the problem.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not knowing there are errors on your website or not knowing that your website's performance is bad will cost you a lot more than Pingdom.
Make sure you have a monitoring software. Other platforms are more expensive and give you the same basic insights in order to solve problems.

Very useful tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is indeed a very useful tool for those who need to test their site's speed and thus discover which plugin or image is hindering the page loading performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is very good but often not very detailed in the results, which makes it difficult to understand what is or isn't influencing the site's performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has already helped us a lot to solve small problems related to the site's loading time, which would otherwise be very difficult.
Great Monitoring System!
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is super clean, the monitors are dead simple to set up and the option to have checks from all over the world really help us to hone in on issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost has gotten a bit higher over the years, but it's a good product, so it's mostly worth the cost. The alerting system has gotten a little more complicated as well.

Proactively know when there are issues, provide manicured dashboards to clients
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you are allowing ICMP traffic to interfaces/sites you want monitored and make sure you have your alerting set properly, it can generate a lot of alerts in some cases.

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to add devices to the system, alerting capabilities are simple and yet can be complex if required, Network Map is very useful for displaying geographical status of our offices.
What do you dislike about the product?
There doesn't seem to be a very intuitive way of putting the system into maintenance mode when required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When devices go up and down the team responsible are able to act much faster to resolve, the use of the network map has helped this considerably.
Website Speed & Size Optimization Breakdown
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of this tool is it's ability to show a breakdown of webpage resources, loading speed and size to better understand a webpages load time and optimization. We can then determine what needs to be improved and changed to give the best experience to our website visitors, along with Search Engine Optimization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am pretty unhappy that they changed the user interface of the breakdown section so we can no longer easily filter the resource in the breakdown to easily find large file sized image resources that were taking the longest to load and causing optimization issues, along with user experience issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We utilize Pingdom to better understand a websites optimization and load time. This ensures we are providing the best user experience to website visitors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Google Chrome Developer tools have come a long way, and have the ability now to give that breakdown. Further, you can throttle the network speed to get a better understanding of visitor experience when using different network speeds.

I like the GUI which shows all poor performances and historical sql's in any given time period

It doesnt shows the current running active sessions in the database in a graphical way just like OEM has sql monitor

Great Tool to Manage Website Performance
What do you like best about the product?
Pingdom makes it very easy to track our own websites performance across various levels. Pingdom allows us to easily see crucial metrics like downtime and uptime at a glance while also allowing us to dig deeper into a situation to identify any issues. We also have alerts set up so that way if there are any issues while we are not in the office, we will be made aware of any potential issues. We also use the page speed management tools in order to help track the impact of new code deployments.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the biggest issues we have seen with Pingdom is the difference in reports from their free web tool for testing site speed and the paid tool that can be found within the app for monitoring site speed over time. We have found that the free web tool is more accurate than the paid monitoring tool when determining site speed. We do not exactly know why Pingdom is showing such different results, but we have consistently seen a difference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently using Pingdom to try to effectively track important website performance metrics. Their reports allow us to easily see changes and impacts. We also use Pingdom to track any downtime issues we may experience while we are out of the office through various alerts.
