Great for monitoring many users on private server
What do you like best about the product?
I use this tool to monitor and trouble shoot users access to our private server in a healthcare setting. It is very easy to navigate and accessible. I like that there are many ways to search for a device (device number, user logged into it, time, date, etc), which makes it quick and easy to identify users having problems. The chat function is also helpful for trouble shooting with users that work remotely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much that I can think of. It might be helpful to setup up user profiles to match to machines to monitor usage by user name rather than machine name. Otherwise very few dislikes for this product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trouble shooting users issues accessing server. Also used to look at our EHR product from the perspective of a clinician to analyze ease of use, practicality, and trouble shoot clinical errors.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is very useful for people working in Quality Assurance for their agency as well as IT management.

What do you like best about the product?
Solarwinds is by far the best monitoring tool for the Job. The ease of Use of the software Allows for a better management of the task at hand.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it could sometime offer a better integration into some other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to see in real times what changes and monitor real time evolotion of processes.

As a whole, SolarWinds is a Great tool, easy to use for Monitoring purpose when it comed to Servers or Monitoring for Various Environment. It allows for an easy way to follow and be updated regularly on Processes.

Templates for monitoring, customization of templates to meet you requirements, easy to configure and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Server CPU utilization a bit confusing due to capturing of a single value during the poll time instead of the avg value.

Able to manage high resource utilization of the servers, useful Database monitoring capabilities.

Able to monitor critical Servers & applications

Good to deploy for small to mid size DC environments
Perfect addon for any application
What do you like best about the product?
Works like a charm with several logging libraries. Love the slack integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a heroku addon it can be pricey. Needs better documentation on how to install directly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Viewing system logs

I like that I get e-mail notifications almost instantly if my sites go down for any reason as well as notification of when they go back up. The reporting interface is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly don't have anything that I would say I "dislike" about it. As stated already, it is easy to use and understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program helps me monitor uptime and downtime in case they perform under what my host has guaranteed. It will allow me to prove that the host isn't performing at the level I chose which would help me. Thankfully I haven't had to use it for that reason.
Excellent consolidation of and access to server logs

Papertrail's searchability and aggregation makes it a stand-out product .
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very easy to run out of log space in a production environment which then quickly necessitates cost of service increases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Surfacing low-level issues that were being obscured by self-recovering processes or retrys.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Once you figure the initial installation and get yourself on the correct account tier, you can manage your own infrastructure's disc space by deleting local logs.

Getting granulated data can get frustrating...but that could just be training.

What do you like best about the product?
Monitoring the application in real time and getting the alerts on time is very important since the production line is very important and I hope this can be achieved by the Solar Winds. As per the current environment this Solar winds application

As of now after reading the documentation I do not dislike any thing because everything seems to be perfect and suits our business model

Monitoring the applications , Getting the alerts frequently after some production shortfall

I would strongly recommend any of my peers to get this Solar winds
Simple and easy to use but missing a lot of features
What do you like best about the product?
It's very simple to use and easy to get setup (support it good, their agents / log collection tools are good, etc.) There are lots of useful integrations. Overall it's reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very expensive! And lacks a lot of useful features like advanced log parsing (papertrail only does full text search - sending it JSON formatted logs is pointless). There are other emerging feature-rich solutions at a [much] lower price point - we switched to LogDNA.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Papertrail is great for simple/basic log management.

Simple and easy to get started with but very expensive in the long run.
