What do you like best about the product?
The transfer speed is very fast, even when I’m moving large, heavy files.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could be more user-friendly to provide a better overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest challenges companies face is transferring large datasets and heavy files from one place to another, whether it’s between locations or from the cloud. For high-speed data transfer, I don’t see a better alternative than this.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate IBM Aspera on Cloud for its extremely fast and secure file transfer capabilities. It runs efficiently on the existing internet infrastructure without requiring additional investments. I also like that it's scalable and can handle huge file transfers easily, making high-speed data movement simple and effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost is based on data transferred, which seems like overkill for small files. Also, there is a need to learn beforehand, although the setup itself is smooth.

Flawless Speed with Some UI and Pricing Drawbacks
Reviewed on May 25, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I mostly use IBM Aspera on Cloud for moving large video files between our team and outside vendors. The speed jump is the main thing I love about it. Transfers that used to take all day, like a 50GB project file, now finish in just 30 minutes. Its flawless speed is what I like most. The workspace setup is handy, and the packages feature is nice too. I find the activity logs and audit trail to be awesome. Also, if the connection fails, it resumes rather than resetting, which is a big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is not modern and navigation is cluttered, making it challenging to switch between workspaces, packages, and files. The search feature is considered basic compared to the 2026 standards, and there is no dark mode available. The pricing is high, especially for small teams. The mobile experience is not great, with inconsistent push notifications and the lack of a smooth biometric login or an offline queue. Notifications and email alerts could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Aspera on Cloud to move large video files quickly. It solves the problem of lengthy transfers by completing a 50GB file in 30 minutes instead of 12 hours.

Aspera Delivers Fast, Reliable Large-File Transfers with Strong Visibility and Control
Reviewed on May 16, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What stood out with Aspera was the transfer speed consistency and reliability, even for very large datasets. Teams could move high-volume files much faster without constantly worrying about interrupted transfers or manual retries. That became especially important during time-sensitive operational workflows where delayed file delivery affected downstream analytics and reporting activities.
In one healthcare-related workflow, we were exchanging large diagnostic imaging datasets, analytics exports, and operational archives between distributed teams and external partners. Before using Aspera on Cloud, transferring large files through standard cloud storage or traditional FTP-based systems was inconsistent and time-consuming, especially when teams were working across different regions and network conditions. Failed uploads and long transfer times regularly disrupted operational timelines.
Another strong point was the centralized visibility and control over file-sharing workflows. Operations teams could monitor transfer activity, manage permissions, and maintain better governance around sensitive file exchanges without relying on fragmented external tools.
The integrations with cloud storage environments and enterprise collaboration workflows also reduced a lot of operational friction because teams could transfer and manage files inside existing operational ecosystems instead of introducing disconnected processes.

What do you dislike about the product?
In our usage, the platform handled large healthcare-related imaging datasets, analytics exports, and operational archives very reliably, but configuring transfer policies, access controls, endpoint management, and workflow permissions required more administrative planning than simpler cloud-sharing platforms.
Another challenge was onboarding external users and non-technical stakeholders. Internal infrastructure and operations teams adapted quickly, but partners and business users who were unfamiliar with enterprise-grade transfer systems occasionally needed additional guidance during setup and transfer workflows. Compared to consumer-oriented file-sharing platforms, the experience felt more operationally focused than intuitive for casual collaboration users.
From a UI/UX perspective, the platform is functional and reliable, but some administrative and workflow management areas still feel more infrastructure-centric than modern cloud-native collaboration tools. Teams managing frequent external collaboration workflows may expect a more streamlined sharing experience.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Aspera on Cloud solved a major operational problem for us around transferring large business-critical files quickly, reliably, and securely across distributed teams and external partners.
In one healthcare-related workflow, we regularly handled large diagnostic imaging datasets, analytics exports, reporting archives, and operational records that needed to move between internal teams, external processing environments, and partner organizations. Before implementing Aspera on Cloud, traditional cloud-sharing tools and FTP-based transfers were becoming a bottleneck. Large files frequently failed during uploads, transfer times were inconsistent across regions, and teams often had to restart transfers manually after interruptions.
That operational friction directly affected reporting timelines, analytics workflows, and coordination between distributed teams. With Aspera on Cloud, transfer reliability improved significantly. Large files could move much faster and with far fewer interruptions, even under unstable network conditions or across geographically distributed environments.
Another major benefit came from operational visibility and governance. Instead of relying on fragmented file-sharing methods, teams could centrally monitor transfer activity, manage permissions, track delivery status, and maintain better control over sensitive operational data exchanges.
We also used the platform in fintech-related operational workflows where large compliance exports, reconciliation archives, and reporting datasets needed to be shared securely between internal systems and external partners. In those cases, transfer speed and auditability were both critical because delays could affect downstream operational and compliance processes.

A Fast and Reliable Platform for Secure Large File Transfers
Reviewed on May 15, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What grabs attention about IBM Aspera? Blazing transfer speeds, particularly with big files sent over long distances. While regular upload methods drag when handling bulky videos or backups, Aspera pushes through without dropping pace - solid performance sticks around, connection hiccups or not.
One platform handles everything, so moving files around flows without hiccups. Big team efforts move faster when nobody sits stuck watching progress bars crawl.
One thing leads to another once everything is set up right. Tools that run on their own help keep tasks moving without constant checks. Moving files stays visible so nothing slips through cracks. Sharing happens safely when permissions lock things down properly. With a bit of early effort, the system handles repeat jobs smoothly over time. Dependability kicks in after the first few rounds are done.

What do you dislike about the product?
Later things might slow down after a quick start. Right away, configuration could seem harder than it first appeared. Access rights plus linking tools often need extra minutes to behave properly. When heavy data moves happen at once, certain machines tend to work much harder.
Even though it runs without hiccups, the layout often leans toward big groups rather than new people. Getting good at complex tools can feel like a drag early on. However, over time, quick performance and steady operation usually balance out those first awkward weeks.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most people found big file sends breaking halfway through when relying on regular share systems. Sluggish transfer rates made moving data feel like waiting forever sometimes. Size caps blocked entire batches without warning at critical moments. Teams swapping video clips wasted hours just retrying failed drops. Missed deadlines piled up whenever storage platforms refused a batch.
Once files started moving via IBM Aspera, things began flowing better. With all pieces kept together in a single place, working alongside others got quicker. Transfers finish without hiccups most of the time, pauses pop up far less often mid-send, yet work pushes forward while delays shrink against past ways of swapping data.
