Great suite, full of features
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is easy to use and makes it easy to create integrations. There are many connectors, enabling users to quickly and easily incorporate other solutions. Another great thing is Software AG's support team, they are always available to help and provide valuable insights as to what might be causing problems, even if it is not some technical problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although the interface provides a nice experience, the learning curve to master the tool is quite steep. There also may be some difficulty finding learning material in Portuguese language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used it for POCs to integrate data from multiple applications (SAP, for example).
Fix installation
What do you like best about the product?
Once we get the image file it is easy to install
What do you dislike about the product?
For downloading image file it is really tough and time taking process. We need to make selection if we need to download the older version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User Friendly Team, always willing to help on issues whcih are related to applicaiton and advise us the latest fix pack or patching that requires to boost the performance issues.
Nexgen Rapid Framework to produce a reproducible code for any new interfaces!
What do you like best about the product?
For every new interface, we have a reusable code that you can replicate.
API management and EDI are the most important components of the solution. It has allowed us to integrate some systems that require a type of translation.
The time is fairly short to launch. For Java users, it's easy to understand. It's better to handle it. Extensive toolset, including library help out-of-the-box. It time effectively by reducing production time and resource utilization, increasing mobility, and the convergence between end-to-end applications and integrations.

What do you dislike about the product?
The mapping tool for the Flow language might be a bit easier to use. DevOps will need to be considered since the project begins. Documentation has to be calibrated, SoftwareAG has a lot of reliance on it. You could fight to execute scenarios without the assistance of Software AG, even with the documentation at hand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprise integration of multiple in house IT applications.SoftwareAG's Webmethods suite is an enterprise bus that is used for all integrations, bringing all transfers of messages into one program, and making monitoring and integration simple.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use cloud version since the initial stages of project as its painful to migrate later. Its also relatively cheaper to get a cloud version.
Using WebMethod Integration Server for Internal SaaS integration as contract solution provider
What do you like best about the product?
WebMethod IS has many readily built components that cover almost every aspect of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) with consistent way of implementation.
It also go beyond EIP to include enterprise security, webservice, messaging, database connectivity service components ... etc. which are widely used features in Java EE implementation.
It allows user to further customized / extent the service components using Java programming but it's not straight-forward.
Deployment is simple if you design the solution as recommended in the training.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. The learning curve could be hard initially, especially those who new in Software AG webMethods product.
2. The product (IS Designer) also run slow in average spec PC, especially those work in a assigned virtual desktop i.e Citrix, VMWare with 2-4 cores CPU.
3. Despite the rich features, the UI are somehow not intuitive, need to try & error lot of times before succeed & community helps & practical usage examples are scarce if searched over Google.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using webMethods Integration Server to create SaaS services facade in private cloud to serve requests & do routing to other nodes for further process. In this project I'm using SOAP Web Service, both as producer & consumer. Web Service Descriptors are used to publish implementation details to other potential IS user. The request, depends on incoming parameters, will either be processed & returned as producer, or route to other web-services as consumer for further data processing which results are further aggregated before response back to service call. The respective SOAP web service are written in JavaEE separately.
I've used components i.e sequence, branch, map etc. to create my routing flow service. I find it quite reusable at times where they can be 'invoke' from other flow (not even need to copy-paste). The debugging of flow service also good that it allows to see the output of each steps and simulate it using different variables.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
webMethods IS Cloud is best used if your organization has lot of sub system which do not designed base on same architecture, or legacy systems which was created over different period where their output format, technology varies and your company is fully ready for working online. webMethods Integration Cloud ease routing of transaction/data, transform / map them accordingly as needed, save cost by orchestrating existing systems for new goal without need to develop a new one . Dedicated System Administrator is a must when implemented at full scale to take care of network/system performance issue.
